Sun Zhenling was rushed to the hospital after a child bumped into her stomach, potentially causing early labor. Her worried family, including Han Chunxue and Xinyan, rushed to her side. While in the hospital room, they encountered a difficult patient who complained about the noise. Xinyan confronted the rude woman, subtly threatening her family and leaving her fingerprints on a cup to assert her dominance.

Xinyan’s action certainly surprised the pregnant woman, who hesitated to voice any negative thoughts she might have harbored.

Han Jingchen proceeded to the restaurant and promptly ordered sweet and sour pork, instructing the kitchen to prepare it swiftly. He then dispatched Han Chaohui ahead to deliver it, saying, "Cousin, your sweet and sour pork has arrived, and Second Uncle also asked me to bring you some marinated beef."

Sun Zhenling was visibly pleased, exclaiming, "Third Cousin, you all treat me so well. I’ve been craving this for days."

Upon hearing this, Han Chaohui shot a look at Yuan Yikai, who was attending to his cousin: "Lingzi has been craving this for days and hasn’t had any?"

Yuan Yikai felt a sense of injustice. "Third Cousin, I went to the state-run restaurant the night before, but they unfortunately didn't have any marinated beef. Then, I visited the market yesterday, and the vendors only had mutton, no beef. Finally, today, I managed to obtain fresh beef from someone, but before I could return and prepare it, Lingzi was already at the hospital."

Han Chaohui remained somewhat skeptical, so he turned to look at his cousin, who was on the verge of enjoying her meal with the opened lunchbox.

Sun Zhenling beamed, assuring him, "Third Cousin, Yikai isn’t lying; he genuinely couldn't find it after several attempts."

At this juncture, Han Chunxue chimed in with a slight complaint: "You too, if you desired marinated beef, why didn't you simply inform Mom?"

Sun Zhenling appeared a bit embarrassed. "Mom, I’m not a child anymore. How could I possibly trouble you over food?"

Han Chunxue, however, expressed her disapproval. "Regardless of your age, you will always be a child in Mom’s eyes. Next time, if you want anything, just tell Mom, and I will have your dad bring it to you."

Sun Zhenling was deeply touched. "I understand."

Xinyan observed her cousin’s eyes welling up with tears but chose not to point it out, recognizing this as the true essence of family.

Yuan Yikai set down the cup he was holding and then held the lunchbox for her. "You’ve been thinking about this food for days. Quickly, eat some."

Han Chaohui also presented another lunchbox. "You can’t overindulge in the sweet and sour pork and marinated beef. These are noodles that Second Uncle prepared specifically for you."

Sun Zhenling was aware that she needed to be cautious about her diet during her postpartum recovery. Thus, she had boldly expressed her craving for sweet and sour pork. Understanding her uncle’s considerate intentions, she graciously accepted it without refusal.

Yuan Yikai considered inviting his mother-in-law and sister-in-law to dine with them but was hesitant, fearing his wife might go into labor unexpectedly, and he appeared conflicted.

As Sun Zhenling savored her meal, she noticed Yuan Yikai’s troubled expression and inquired, "What’s wrong?"

Yuan Yikai shook his head. "It’s nothing, just eat."

Sun Zhenling became displeased. "What is truly bothering you?"

Eager to avoid upsetting his wife further, Yuan Yikai quickly revealed his concerns.

Han Chunxue, upon hearing his explanation, found her son-in-law more agreeable. "Lingzi’s well-being is the priority, and Second Uncle will arrange for more dishes to be brought over later."

Just as Xinyan was about to interject, Sun Zhenling experienced another bout of stomach pain. "Mom, my stomach is hurting again."

At that precise moment, Shen Guqing entered. "Don’t worry, the contractions will naturally become more frequent."

She glanced at her watch. "In about an hour and a half, I will arrange for someone to escort you to the delivery room. In the meantime, try to stay as active as possible."

Noticing the food nearby, she advised, "Eat more to ensure you have enough energy later."

Sun Zhenling nodded in agreement. "Okay."

Shen Guqing then turned to Xinyan. "Yanyan, would you like to join me for a meal at the hospital cafeteria?"

Xinyan waved her hand in refusal. "Senior, I won’t be joining you. I’m concerned that something might happen here, and Dad will be waking up soon."

Seeing that Xinyan would not be accompanying her, Shen Guqing offered a few parting reminders before departing.

Meanwhile, another pregnant woman in a nearby bed suddenly voiced her usual grumbling: "Oh, so it turns out you have important connections."
