Xinyan and Mr. Gu explored a cave, eventually finding a hidden mechanism activated by jade pendants, which opened a secret entrance. Inside, they discovered a passage leading to several boxes, confirming they were the Gu family's ancestral treasures. Mr. Gu, feeling unwell from excitement, rested while Xinyan prepared to examine the contents.

Xinyan conducted a headcount, identifying a total of twenty-nine containers. One of these boxes, however, presented a distinct difference from the rest.

Donning a pair of gloves, she first turned her attention to this peculiar box.

Though Mr. Gu was seated, taking a moment to rest, his gaze remained intently focused on her actions. "Yanyan, be cautious," he advised.

Xinyan offered a nod to her grandfather before returning her focus to the box. She had already performed a thorough check, confirming that these containers were secure, exhibiting no indications of any tampering or poisoning. Therefore, as long as there wasn't a hidden contrivance within, all should be well.

Extending her hand, she deftly unlocked the external clasp, lifted the lid, and swiftly retreated.

Observing that the box itself showed no unusual signs, she cautiously drew nearer, only to discover something quite unexpected nested inside—a small casket.

Raising her hand, she carefully retrieved the diminutive casket. Upon opening it with great care, she found within a tiny, brownish sphere, no larger than half of a thumb.

For a brief moment, she found herself utterly perplexed as to the significance of this item.

Could this minuscule object be the very thing that had driven so many families to the brink of madness?

Yet, the instant her fingers made contact with the small sphere, an inexplicable sense of familiarity washed over her. Simultaneously, she sensed a peculiar anomaly occurring within her spatial dimension.

In that very moment, a profound understanding seemed to dawn upon her.

The origin of her unique spatial ability remained a mystery, she still had no clue how it came into existence or what its true nature might be. But now, gazing at this unassuming little ball, clarity suddenly struck her.

It appeared that the rumors surrounding this item were not entirely unfounded. Perhaps the Gu family had never anticipated that their treasured heirloom would, in fact, be a vessel containing a pocket of space.

She removed her gloves, intending to touch the small sphere directly.

To her utter astonishment, the very instant the ball made contact with her bare skin, it inexplicably merged into her fingertip, causing her to jump back in surprise.

As she regained her composure, she made a startling realization: her consciousness was completely unable to access her special space. She stood frozen, a look of bewilderment on her face.

Mr. Gu, sensing that something was amiss, quickly approached her. "Yanyan, what is wrong?" he inquired with concern.

Xinyan found herself at a loss, unsure of how to explain the situation to her grandfather. Her face was a mask of inner conflict.

Mr. Gu, a man of considerable experience and wisdom, cast a discerning glance at the now-empty casket, then turned his attention back to his granddaughter. "Yanyan, why are you just staring at this empty casket? You gave Grandpa quite a scare," he remarked, attempting to lighten the mood.

Upon hearing her grandfather's words, Xinyan made another attempt to connect with her spatial dimension. However, there was still no response. She resolved to set the matter aside for the time being.

Subsequently, Xinyan proceeded to open the remaining twenty boxes, nearly being overwhelmed by the sheer brilliance: fifteen boxes contained gold bars, three yielded silver ingots, and ten were filled with a dazzling array of various jewels. Remarkably, none of these precious items showed any signs of degradation.

Due to the special preservation methods employed, they retained their luster upon opening, completely free from any trace of oxidation.

Both grandfather and granddaughter stared at the amassed treasures, their emotions running high, unable to calm themselves for a considerable period.

When compared to the valuables she had previously recovered from the back mountain of the Mechanical Factory, this collection represented ten additional boxes: "Grandpa, what should we do with all of this?" she asked.

Mr. Gu surveyed the scene. "Keeping it all here isn't a viable long-term solution. Later, you can arrange for someone to transport these items away. As for the others, we shall discuss them further once we return home."

He paused, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "Coincidentally, your mother mentioned some time ago that she was considering registering a real estate company. She also noted some funding challenges. We could provide her with a portion of this to help her get started."

The two did not linger in the cave any longer. After carefully restoring everything to its original state, they exited the hidden grotto, retracing their steps.

Noticing the freshly cut vines adorning the cliff face, Mr. Gu commented, "These need to be dealt with swiftly. We must ensure no one accidentally stumbles upon this place and causes any unforeseen trouble."

Xinyan understood her grandfather's concern perfectly. However, regretfully, her spatial dimension remained inaccessible, meaning she would have to make another trip back at a later date.

Once they had safely descended the mountain, Xinyan first escorted her grandfather back to the guesthouse to rest. Considering his advanced age and the strenuous efforts he had exerted over the past few days, it was evident he was nearing his physical limit.

Furthermore, she could sense that her grandfather was in a deeply melancholic mood, likely recalling once more the immense hardships the entire Gu family had endured as a direct consequence of these very gold and silver treasures.
