Reborn As Noble Chapter 1462: A Voice That Echoes from Every Direction ( 1462 )

From the bench in the distance, Gloria let out a long, weary exhale, shaking her head slowly.
"That girl is so hard-headed..." she murmured, nudging her glasses up. "They were both pinned down by a simple gravity spell earlier, unable to even lift a training tray. And now they can’t even cast a basic skill, yet they still have the audacity to act so confident."
Felicia nodded, her expression serious. "Just by looking at Big Sister Liana, I can tell she’s only using a basic dispel skill. If she was serious, she could manipulate the surrounding mana to become so dense that even a powerful magic user wouldn’t be able to control their own mana."
Delya, who had just nibbled on her chocolate, chimed in softly. "If Big Sis Liana was serious, they wouldn’t even be able to move a finger, let alone talk so boldly."
Gloria sighed, her gaze fixed on the scene. "That’s true. And Liana isn’t even the strongest here. There are others far stronger, like Mrs. Erinette. And there are far more dangerous enemies out there, especially that man... Julius."
She paused, her voice dropping slightly. "Just imagine what would happen to Lyzia if she ever crossed paths with someone like him, with her current strength and attitude... she wouldn’t last a minute. She’d be captured, broken, or worse, before she even realized what was happening."
Felicia nodded, reaching for Delya’s chocolate jar. Delya noticed and smiled softly, offering it to her without a word. Felicia picked a piece and ate it slowly, her expression thoughtful.
"True," she said quietly. "That’s also why Big Sister Liana is preparing us for that. So when the time comes, we’ll be able to protect ourselves while our husband is busy handling the main trouble."
Delya smiled, her gaze soft but knowing. "Mm~ Danna-sama will surely protect us from that man, but that doesn’t mean we should rely on him alone. If we’re too weak, we’ll just become burdens. We need to be strong enough to stand beside him, not just behind him."
Gloria glanced at Liana in the distance, who stood with her arms crossed, smiling at the two confused girls. Nearby, Mimi sat cross-legged on the floor, her hands glowing as she played with floating blocks of mana, enjoying herself.
Gloria let out a soft mumble, "Let’s hope Lyzia learns something from this, for her own sake. She needs to be stronger than this when she returns to the Elven Nation."
Meanwhile, Liana’s smile remained serene as she spoke to Lyzia and Celine.
"Ara~ My little sister. Still can’t cast your spell? Hmm? If I went to cook a meal for you, it would already be finished by now~"
She took a step forward, and her face turned serious. A dangerous glint flashed in her eyes, and her aura flared, the air around her growing heavy and cold. Her voice dropped into a low, dangerous echo that vibrated through the very floor.
"Let me show you why your way of thinking is so flawed. Why your confidence is nothing but arrogance. And why, in the real world, someone like you would be dead before you even realized you were in danger."
A voice echoed from every direction, carrying a dark, dangerous resonance that made the air itself tremble.
"Do not worry~ I will only use one percent of my power~"
The ground beneath Lyzia and Celine suddenly darkened. Thick, shadowy miasma erupted from the floor like living tendrils, twisting and writhing as they shot toward the two girls. The vines were covered in jagged, thorny barbs that gleamed with a sickly, dark sheen, moving faster than the eye could follow.
Lyzia’s eyes widened in panic. She grabbed Celine’s hand and leaped backward, barely avoiding the first wave of vines as they crashed into the ground where they had stood, cracking the marble floor.
Celine tried to cast a barrier, her hands trembling, but the mana she tried to shape scattered like dust in the wind before it could form. Lyzia raised her palm, desperately trying to summon her magic, but nothing came.
The vines struck with terrifying precision. They wrapped around Lyzia’s ankles, her wrists, her waist, coiling tightly around her body. The sharp thorns bit into her clothes, pricking her skin as she struggled and screamed. Celine was caught a moment later, the vines winding around her arms and legs, hoisting her into the air.
Both of them hung helplessly, their bodies bound, their arms stretched above their heads as the thorns pressed against their skin.
"Sister! It hurts! Stop! Please!" Lyzia screamed, tears streaming down her face as the thorny vines tightened around her body, the sharp barbs digging into her flesh.
Then the shadows came.
From the darkness around them, countless figures emerged. Tall, faceless shapes with glowing red eyes, their bodies made of pure shadow, each wielding a blade that dripped with malevolent energy. They moved silently, closing in from all sides, their weapons raised and ready to strike.
Lyzia’s face went pale. Her voice cracked as she struggled against the vines. "W-What... what are those!? Sister!? Sister, stop! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!!"
Celine trembled, tears forming in her eyes as one of the shadow figures raised its blade, its glowing red eyes staring into her. "Please... please don’t kill me!"
From the shadows, Liana emerged. Her usual serene beauty was twisted into something terrifying. She wore a dark black maid dress with glowing red stripes that pulsed like veins of molten fire. Dark miasma coiled around her body like living serpents, writhing and hissing with malevolent intent. She moved with a terrifying grace, each step silent and deliberate.
In her right hand, she held a long, dark blade with red glowing stripes, the edge shimmering with a sinister gleam, humming with dark energy. Her beautiful emerald eyes had turned a deep, blood-red, glowing with an otherworldly light. Her lips, usually curved in a gentle smile, were now pressed into a cold, thin line.
She stopped before the two bound girls, her gaze fixed on Lyzia. Her voice came out as a low, chilling whisper, carrying a weight of sorrow and resolve.
"Before someone else kills my little sister... it is better for me to end you myself. At least then, you will still be pure. Untainted. Unbroken. You will not suffer at the hands of those who would use you, defile you, and discard you like trash."
She raised her blade, the dark steel gleaming with malevolent energy. The thorny vines lowered them both, bringing them face to face with the edge of death.
Lyzia sobbed, her voice trembling. "S-Sister... please... I’m sorry... I’m sorry..."
Liana leaned closer, her crimson eyes locking onto Lyzia’s tear-filled gaze. Her voice softened as she whispered her final words.
"Goodbye, my sweet, little sister~"
