Reborn As Noble Chapter 1292: Full Speed, No Regrets ( 1292 )
Previously on Reborn As Noble...
"Mimiiiiiiii!!!"
Gracelle gripped the armrests with all her might, her knuckles turning bone-white as sheer panic flooded her eyes.
"Slow doooooooown!!!"
"Nyahahahahahahaha!!!" Mimi's laughter intensified, her speed increasing as her feet pounded a frantic rhythm against the polished marble floor. Her tail swished wildly, a vibrant banner of pure, unadulterated glee.
The Armand maids, already familiar with the tell-tale signs of Mimi’s spirited escapades, let out a collective sigh and smoothly moved aside, ensuring a clear path. One of them calmly tapped her mana talkie, her voice steady and professional.
"Attention all staff. Princess Mimi is on the move again. Please clear the main hallway and secure any potentially fragile items."
"Mimi! Stop! Stoooppp!!!" Gracelle's voice shrieked, laced with rising hysteria. "We're going to collide with someone if you don't stop!"
Meanwhile.
Delya emerged from the kitchen, a picture of serene bliss, as a piece of rich, dark chocolate slowly melted on her tongue. She clutched a small, exquisitely decorated box of chocolates to her chest, her steps light, her expression utterly content.
"Mm~ Today’s chocolate is simply divine~"
She paused amidst the grand hallway, holding the box close. Her eyes were blissfully half-closed as she chewed deliberately, savoring the profound depth of flavor.
"Ah~ What a perfectly tranquil day~"
Delya reached for another exquisite piece, placing it with practiced grace upon her tongue, allowing the intensely bittersweet dark chocolate to dissolve languidly. Her eyelids fluttered shut in utter ecstasy.
Mm~ While not quite matching the artistry of Big Sis Liana and Danna-sama’s creations, this is still perfection for a quiet day such as this.
She closed her eyes, a soft, contented sigh escaping her lips.
I eagerly await Danna-sama and Big Sis Liana’s return, so I may once again request a batch of their uniquely blended chocolate.
Taking a slow, satisfied step, she continued to revel in the lingering sweetness.
Perhaps returning to our chambers, brewing a pot of royal tea or rich hot chocolate, and immersing myself in one of Danna-sama’s beloved storybooks would be the ideal way to spend this afternoon.
Lost in these pleasant daydreams, Delya proceeded with effortless grace, her chocolate box held close, her mind fully absorbed in the simple joys of the moment.
As she neared a turn, the familiar, boisterous sound of Mimi’s laughter echoed down the corridor.
What mischievous endeavor is Mimi embarking on now?
That catgirl is truly an enigma. To hold the station of a princess, yet possess such impish recklessness, leaving a trail of delightful chaos in her wake.
Delya shook her head, a gentle smile gracing her lips, and turned the corner.
"Nyaaaaa!!! Make way! No brakes! NO BRAAAKKEEEE!!!"
Delya’s eyes snapped open in alarm as a wheelchair hurtled towards her, Mimi propelling it at breakneck speed.
Before she could even contemplate a reaction, the wheelchair slammed into her. The box of chocolates erupted from her grasp, scattering its precious contents across the floor. Delya was sent stumbling backward, landing with a soft thud on the cool marble.
Gracelle, having been ejected from the chair upon impact, lay sprawled on the ground, her face pressed against the chilled floor. The wheelchair itself clattered violently against the far wall. Mimi landed flat on her back, legs flailing in the air, groaning softly.
"Ow, ow, ow~" Delya murmured, cradling her aching side as she pushed herself into a sitting position. Her gaze swept across the floor, and her face fell instantly upon seeing her treasured chocolates strewn everywhere, some crushed beyond recognition, others rolling forlornly to a halt.
She fixed Mimi with an accusing stare. "MIMI!!!"
Mimi sat up with swift agility, now kneeling on the floor. She glanced at Delya, a sheepish grin spreading across her face as she rubbed the back of her head.
"Ehehehe~"
"Look at the mess you’ve made! My chocolates!" Delya huffed, her glare unwavering. Mimi, however, quickly averted her gaze, affecting an intense interest in the ceiling's details.
"Umm... umm..." Gracelle's voice was a weak murmur, still sprawled on the floor, nursing a dull ache. She managed to lift her head slightly, her eyes pleading as she looked between them. "A little help... please...?"
Delya's eyes widened in concern. She immediately scrambled over to Gracelle, kneeling beside her, and gently assisted her into a seated position. With one hand supporting Gracelle’s back, she carefully checked for any signs of injury.
"Are you alright? Does anything ache?" Delya inquired, her voice filled with genuine worry.
Gracelle weakly shook her head, still catching her breath. "I... I believe I'm unharmed... just a bit sore..."
Once Gracelle was settled and safe, Delya turned her head, directing another sharp, reproving gaze towards Mimi.
"You brought her out of her room when she hasn't fully recovered?! What were you thinking?!"
"Eh?" Mimi narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms in a defensive posture. "She was the one who expressed a desire to go out! Furthermore, husband-sama explicitly permitted us to take her for a stroll around the estate, provided we remained within its grounds!"
"That was no leisurely stroll!" Delya sputtered, her voice escalating. "You were sprinting, giggling, and shoving her down the corridor at top speed, as if it were a race! You were cackling like a wildcat! This doesn't aid her recovery; it risks re-injury!"
Mimi pouted, rubbing her arm as she grumbled. "Mmmph... You're no fun, Delya... Nothing bad happened to her, though. We all just stumbled a bit, that's all..."
"A bit?!" Delya’s eye twitched uncontrollably. "You collided with me! My chocolates are ruined!"
"Nya? Chocolate? Where?" Mimi’s gaze darted around, feigning an innocent expression and pretending not to notice the scattered chocolates on the floor.
"Right there!" Delya hissed, furiously pointing at the confectionery mess. "You've completely spoiled my perfect day! I intended to savor them with some exquisite royal tea, and now, just look at them!"
"Nya? They aren't exactly soiled," Mimi stated nonchalantly, waving her hand dismissively. "The Armand hallway is so pristine, one could dine directly off the floor, nya~" She stood, approached a nearby piece, and then squatted, retrieving it. "See? I'll help you gather them up~"
Delya's cheeks puffed out in indignation before she slowly rose, smoothing her dress. "This is entirely your doing, Mimi. Now, collect all my chocolates while I attend to Gracelle."
"Nya?" Mimi shot Delya a sly, impish glance before popping the chocolate piece she'd picked up into her mouth. She chewed deliberately, a mischievous grin unfurling across her face.
"Mmm~ Delicious~"
Delya's eyes widened in disbelief. "Mimi! That was mine!"
Mimi swiftly grabbed another piece, crammed it into her mouth, then scooped up a handful, stuffing them into her cheeks like a furtive squirrel. She laughed with her mouth full, darting away and evading Delya’s outstretched hands.
"Nyahahahaha! I’ll assist by 'securely storing' them in my tummy, nya!"
"Get back here, you little thief!" Delya gave chase, her prior irritation vanishing as she attempted to apprehend the playful catgirl.
