Reborn As Noble Chapter 1217: A Scary Miss Liana ( 1217 )
Previously on Reborn As Noble...
Kalea froze upon seeing Liana's narrowed gaze.
Oh no... She's definitely furious now.
I'm not so afraid when Prince Javier is with her or nearby, but without him, who knows what she'll do.
She gulped nervously, hands clasped tightly in front while staring down at the ground.
"I... apologize... but Miss Myra insists it's urgent."
Liana, her eyes weighed down by fatigue and drowsiness, shot her a look.
"Is Gracelle in trouble?"
Kalea shook her head quickly. "N-no..."
Liana eyed her in bewilderment.
What's going on with her?
Why's she acting this way?
She appears terrified and jittery.
Did someone pressure her into a tough task?
And what requires me at the Intensive Care Unit?
With a deep sigh, she looked at Kalea again.
"I'll head over shortly."
Kalea bowed hastily. "I'll go now... excuse me, Miss Liana." She dashed off right after speaking.
Liana watched Kalea flee the area in haste.
I wonder what's bothering her?
Maybe I should check if anyone harassed her or if she's facing issues.
She released a lengthy breath.
I was just about to crash and sleep, but now...
She eyed Gloria, Felicia, Delya, and Mimi, all sprawled on the large bed, set for slumber.
Gloria peeked from the bed, side-lying as she gazed at Liana.
"Liana?" she murmured drowsily, eyelids drooping.
Liana approached them and halted, scanning everyone. "Rest up first, everyone. I've got to head somewhere."
"Nya?" Mimi's ears twitched upright. "Where to, Big Sis?"
Liana sighed deeply. "Just the room in the next building."
"Something wrong, Big Sis?" Delya asked, peeking while clutching her pillow.
"Possibly. That girl only mentioned Myra summoning me."
"I'll head out. Just sleep and don't stay up." Liana spoke gently en route to the door.
Gloria offered a sleepy grin and snuggled her pillow. "Mm... night, Liana."
Liana shot Gloria a sideways glare. "Night my foot. It's morning already."
"Mm... nobody says good morning when we're crashing..."
Liana rolled her eyes, muttered under her breath, shook her head, and stepped out.
Felicia whispered from the bed. "Stay safe, Big Sis..."
Liana gave a slight smile while shutting the door. "I'm not venturing far..."
Descending the stairs, she scanned the Armand maids nearby.
Her eyes narrowed noticing how rigid everyone appeared today.
Hmm? Why's everyone so tense today? Odd.
"Good morning." Liana paused, bowing politely to the maids.
The maids grinned back and bowed in response.
She proceeded to the main entrance, observing folks dodging her eyes.
Am I dressed strangely?
Halting midway down the hall, she inspected her attire. Hands smoothed over her garments for irregularities, then she checked behind by glancing back. She lightly tapped her rear, fiddled with ears and hair, patted her face.
Did Gloria stick something on my back?
Or is my hair disheveled?
She sniffed her sleeve.
No odor here.
And this is my standard everyday outfit.
She double-checked, pivoting in the dawn light from the windows.
Mm... Nothing odd seems amiss.
No signs of Gloria's prank either.
But...
She looked at the maids once more, now feigning busyness.
Why do they keep avoiding my gaze like that?
Liana called softly to a nearby maid.
"Umm... excuse me?"
The maid tensed up, panicked glances around before exclaiming, "Ah! Forgot to sweep upstairs! Ahhh... Mrs. Erinette will rage over dusty tables!"
Snatching her broom, she bolted upstairs as others scattered, fake-dusting shelves, wiping windows, sorting trays.
Huh? What's their deal? Even stranger, she mentioned sweeping upstairs but fretted over table dust...
Suspicious...
Liana spun around, re-examining her clothes.
She brushed from shoulders to waist for lumps or tags. Fingers combed through silver hair for concealed ribbons or items.
Gloria must've pranked me? Right? Hmm?
After thorough scrutiny, all seemed normal.
Strange...
With a weary, drawn-out breath, she resumed toward the main door.
Probably just my imagination... or sleepiness playing tricks.
Opening the door, she exited, spotting the two lounging guards snap to attention.
"Good morning, Miss Liana!" They straightened, fists to left chests, bowing deeply.
Huh? What's up with people today?
She looked up at Marcor and Garak.
"Umm... Good... morning?" Head tilted in puzzlement.
These guys seldom act so formally, yet today they're transformed?
"Eaten breakfast yet?" Liana asked them softly.
"Y-yes! We're good, Miss Liana!"
Liana shook her head and walked on.
Today's truly bizarre.
Once Liana departed, Garak and Marcor relaxed their shoulders, sighing in relief.
"Whew... notice that?" Garak hissed, mopping his forehead.
"Y-yeah," Marcor swabbed cold sweat, gulping. "First time seeing her so intense."
Garak eased into his seat, scanning to confirm Liana's absence. "Wonder what turned her so grave."
Marcor settled too. "Man... why'd she unleash that terrifying aura out of nowhere."
Garak checked surroundings, leaning close to whisper.
"Maybe someone's ticked her off today."
Marcor snickered. "Kalea might've soured her mood. She's such a pest sometimes."
Inside the building, Armand maids clustered quietly, murmuring.
"First time Miss Liana seemed so... intimidating," one whispered, hands shaky.
"You anger her?" another snapped softly, eyeing her neighbor.
"Huh? No way!" she retorted palely. "I steer clear of trouble, obey every rule to the letter."
"Not you, then who?"
