Javier contemplated bolstering defenses against new human cannons threatening allies like the Elven Kingdom during breakfast. His father Garius advised focusing on the meal for a sharp mind, recounting Armand's past fall and the value of resilience. After eating, Javier checked on recovering Gracelle, reassuring her shy gratitude and thirst amid post-surgery care via IV fluids.

She looked toward Javier, positioned just a short distance from her bed, conversing with the two other women clad in identical surgical garb as his.

Who is this man?

His voice, his gaze, the way he grins... even without seeing his full face yet.

He appears quite handsome.

She peeked at Javier once more, tugging her blanket up to hide her lips.

He's tall, and judging by his build from behind, he seems well-muscled.

Exactly my type~

Gracelle grinned dreamily, then quickly returned to her senses.

No... I can't.

I've struggled so hard to hold out just to reunite with a specific person. I can't... I have to see him again.

I won't betray him. I've already made that promise.

She looked at Javier again.

Ah~ but... his physique and speech are totally my type~

I wonder just how striking he is without the mask covering his face?

They mentioned he's the one who rescued me.

Where could he be from?

She shook her head gently.

No... stop thinking about other men right now.

You promised Javier De Armand.

At least see him first before anything else...

She glanced at Javier yet again.

Ahh... no idea why, but gazing at his back makes my heart pound~

Javier spun around abruptly with Myra and Kalea as the monitoring device started beeping, triggered by Gracelle’s quickening heartbeat.

"Feeling any pain? Hurt anywhere?" Javier inquired hastily.

Gracelle’s cheeks flushed as she buried her face in the blanket.

How did they notice my heart speeding up?

Because of that strange device?

"Um... no... I... I'm not hurt... It's just... umm..." Gracelle stuttered, shy and flustered.

Myra grinned and patted Javier’s shoulder.

"Your Highness, better let us handle this."

"Oh? Why’s that?" Javier cocked his head, puzzled.

"No need to fret, Your Highness. Leave her in our care."

"You certain?" Javier eyed the monitoring system, now silent after the alerts ceased.

"Yes." Myra nodded with a smile as Kalea let out a quiet chuckle.

"Alright... I'll entrust her to you two. Call me if anything comes up."

"As you wish, Your Highness." Myra and Kalea curtsied elegantly while Javier exited the room, still bewildered.

Once Javier had gone.

Gracelle eyed Myra.

"Umm..."

Myra, examining her status, looked over. "Yes?"

"That gentleman... umm... doctor... is he... um... available?"

Myra and Kalea exchanged glances before giggling lightly.

"Ah... no... He's spoken for. He has fiancées already."

Gracelle looked a touch downcast. "Oh..."

Myra beamed. "Recall that elven girl earlier?"

"Ah... the stunning silver-haired elf with emerald eyes? Wow..." Gracelle sighed longingly. "So the doctor mister must be quite the looker."

Kalea laughed. "Oh~ He is. Handsomest man around, surpassing even his brothers."

"Re... really? Wow... that elf must be incredibly fortunate."

"Even this one here's smitten with him." Myra gestured at Kalea.

"M... Myra! Shh! Liana would kill me if she heard!" Kalea whispered sharply.

"He must be incredibly handsome then... that elf girl's so lucky." Gracelle heaved a deep sigh. "Umm..."

"Hmm? What is it?" Myra tilted her head toward Gracelle.

"When might I see that elf girl again?" Gracelle questioned, staring into Myra’s eyes.

"Ah... Miss Liana? Not sure. Perhaps tonight if she's free. Why?"

"Umm..." Gracelle murmured. "Something I need to ask her."

Myra smiled. "I'll let her know later. Rest up for now, alright? Water in a bit."

"O... okay..." Gracelle replied softly, then relaxed.

After Myra and Kalea departed, she stared at the ceiling.

What did that elf mean by "might let you see someone you've longed for ages~"?

How does she know who I'm dying to meet?

Does she know Javier De Armand from the Armand Family?

She breathed out.

Six years since our last meeting. Just letters since.

What does he look like now?

She chuckled softly.

What if he's gotten chubby? One letter said he wanted me cooking only meat.

He even wrote he despises veggies.

Can't wait to recover...

So I can finally meet him after all this time.

She eyed her arm, so slender and fragile.

But... does he still remember me?

Last letter was years back.

What if he thinks I dodged him?

She looked at her arm again, body still feeble and gaunt.

But... would he even want to see me... in this state?

What if he meets me and feels repulsed?

She nibbled her lower lip.

Now... I'm getting afraid to face him.

A sharp pang hit her heart, anxiety and sorrow clenching her chest.

The monitoring system beeped in alarm.

Myra and Kalea, spotting the warning, dashed to her room.

Kalea checked the monitor swiftly while Myra hurried to assess Gracelle, seeing her eyes shimmer with tears.

"What's the matter?" Myra asked softly. "In pain?"

Gracelle shook her head, lip caught between her teeth. "No..."

Myra sighed and soothed her. "Tell me what's wrong. Why the tears? If something hurts, say so—we'll fix it."

Gracelle pressed her lips together, face full of sorrow and worry. "No... no pain... but..."

"Shh... easy now, alright?" Myra cooed. "Getting this upset could delay your healing."

Gracelle, still pouting, nodded.

"Deep breath now..." Myra smiled.

Gracelle obeyed, drawing in air slowly.

"Good... let it out gently... yes... perfect."

Kalea relaxed as the system quieted.

Gracelle looked up at Myra, still biting her lip.

"Can I see the elf girl? Please?"

Myra checked with Kalea, then back to Gracelle.

"We'll try. Rest for now, okay?"

Gracelle shook her head. "Can't rest till I see her... please?"

Myra sighed deeply, turning to Kalea.

"Kalea?"

"Yes, Miss Myra?"

"Could you... umm... ask someone to fetch Liana?"

"E... eh?" Kalea muttered. "Why me?" she whispered.

"Tell Mrs. Erinette if Liana scares you."

"Mou! Not scared..." Kalea murmured. "But she can be terrifying at times."

Myra shook her head, whispering sharply. "Just go get her."

"Tch... okay..." Kalea muttered, trudging out.

Myra grinned beneath her mask and looked at Gracelle.

"We're summoning her now, so relax, stay calm, no more panicking. Stress won't aid your recovery."
