James accepts Lia's decision to move out, but not before Mel jokingly offers to accompany her, sparking a playful argument with James. Rio then steers the conversation to wedding preparations, with James eagerly agreeing to build a new, grand wedding hall for Lia. After days of celebration for the end of a long war, Rio and Lia, along with their friends, embark on a shopping spree for their new home.

Time had flowed by peacefully since that day, and the world had slowly begun to settle into the calm that Rio had brought to it.

In a galaxy far far away from the homeland of the world alliance, Rio was sitting on a random boulder atop the surface of a half-broken moon orbiting around a dying star.

Countless stars glittered in every direction like scattered jewels, and the pale light of the dying sun painted the cracked surface of the moon in a dim and lonely shade of red.

"So that’s what the ’Sea of Endless Miasma’ looks like from up close... it’s quite scary..."

Lia, who was leaning against Rio’s shoulder while sitting beside him, looked at the endless sea of miasma far in the distance yet clearly visible to naked eyes with a fascinated look on her lovely face.

Even from so far away, the sheer vastness of that black expanse made it feel as if the entire horizon had been swallowed by a patient and hungry beast.

Rio and Lia had already completed an engagement ceremony, and their wedding was just one month away.

Both of them had been so busy preparing for the big day that this quiet trip felt like a precious moment stolen from a hectic schedule.

Their own homeland was now very peaceful, and even the number of dungeons opening had been artificially suppressed by Rio through his own powers, so there wasn’t much going on back there.

Without any urgent matters to deal with, even the busiest guild halls and city streets had become strangely quiet, and many people had started to enjoy the long, lazy days.

To relieve boredom, Rio brought Lia on a date to this faraway galaxy to show the Sea of Miasma to her.

It was not exactly a romantic date by normal standards, but for the two of them, sitting beside each other and watching the universe was already the best kind of romance.

Lia was only at the mid-S rank stage right now and looking at the sea of miasma directly was dangerous for her, so Rio had lent her his sword intent to protect her.

A faint and gentle layer of sword intent surrounded her body like a transparent shield, quietly pushing away every trace of danger that dared to come near.

Moreover, Rio had given the repaired crown of endless Realms to Lia, which also provided a massive amount of miasma resistance to her.

The crown rested lightly on her head and glowed with a faint light each time the distant miasma stirred.

The crown was pretty much useless to Rio now, as he could just use his world authorities to do almost everything the crown could do.

Even so, he had never thrown it away, since it had been with him through many dangerous moments and held a small place in his memories.

Keeping it with him would only cause it to gather dust in a corner of the space ring, so Rio gave it to Lia to improve her safety.

"Yup, that’s the source of all despair in this universe... in the future, if it’s not taken care of, the universe will eventually be destroyed by it..."

"At least that’s what I have heard and found out about until now... it could be wrong or right; I am not sure..."

He spoke slowly, choosing each word with care, because even he did not yet know how much of the truth he had really touched.

Rio himself felt a weirdly warm and comfortable sensation from miasma as if it was a harmless thing that never caused any trouble.

It was a strange and almost frustratingly familiar feeling, like standing in front of an old friend who refused to say what was on his mind but kept bugging you over it.

In front of Rio, miasma was so docile and well-behaved that he himself felt weird trying to stop its influence from spreading.

Rio wanted to go straight into the heart of the sea of miasma to investigate the truths of everything, but the problem was that he just couldn’t find a proper entrance!

He had stared at the dark horizon more times than he could count, thinking about each possible way in, yet every plan eventually crashed into the same wall.

Rio’s world authorities granted him the power of a pseudo-true-god but the sea of miasma was also at that same level of existence and was the manifestation of a certain type of omnipotence too!

Two beings of the same level could not simply crush each other, and every clash between them would be a clash of laws instead of a clash of strength.

The Sea of Miasma represented the never-ending cycle of death and decay! It wasn’t something so weak that Rio could just force his way inside without care!

It was as old as the day of mana descent itself, and it moved with the patience of something that had never once feared the passing of time.

The sea of miasma had placed powerful restrictions around its borders, and whenever Rio tried to close in, it would react on time and shrink itself!

It was like trying to catch a shadow with bare hands, for the closer he moved, the further away it slipped.

Often times the sea of miasma would literally abandon entire galaxies and run away on the spot the moment it sensed that Rio was trying to enter inside its domain!

Whole star systems had been left empty and silent behind it, as if it were a frightened beast fleeing from a hunter it could not understand.

This situation made Rio really helpless.

He had even tried approaching from different directions in a single moment, but the sea always seemed to notice, shifting its shape with an irritating sense of timing.

If the other party clashed with him head-on, Rio could still use his world authorities to find loopholes and make his way inside, but the sea of miasma kept running in circles and never allowed Rio to catch its trail!

’I need some kind of precise ’medium’ to enter... even a small unstable wormhole would do. As long as I have a ’medium,’ I can break through all restrictions and get in without a problem!’

Even the thinnest crack in space would be enough for him to slip in, but so far no such opening had ever shown itself.
