Reborn as an Extra Chapter 812: The Journey Begins. Part-2.

The birthday party lasted late into night before everyone finally got tired and went home.
On the happy occasion, Allen’s parents bought him a low-grade healing artifact with whatever money they had saved over the years.
"Allen, you are now all grown up and have even become an awakener. Your mom and I are just ordinary people and do not know what kind of hardships you might have to face in the future..."
"Take this artifact; it’s a healing artifact. Although it’s the cheapest one, it carries our hopes for you."
"We both hope that it will one day come in handy and save your life."
Lillian who had always been strict with him before, patted his head with moist eyes as she spoke in a gentle voice,
"My baby boy has already grown up into a fine man, now you can already take care of yourself, times flies away so fast, sigh..."
"Allen, I know that awakeners are special; they live much much longer than us ordinary human beings."
"We ordinary people are fragile, and since your father and I got married quite late in life, we are both already getting old."
Gaius and Lillian were both late bloomers; they had married at the age of 35, and by now they were both already past 50.
They did not have the same youthful energy anymore, and they just wanted a happy life for their son.
"Allen, we might not be able to remain by your side for long, but I hope that this artifact will carry our love for you, and no matter where you go in the future, it will help you remember your home."
A happy smile appeared on Gaius and Lillian’s faces as they both hugged Allen into their arms.
Even though he was the mighty blessed and chosen one of the universe, even Allen could not help but cry like a child that day.
In the dilapidated graveyard, Allen stood in front of two graves like a child that had lost his home forever.
Many friends and relatives that had been to his house and were partying just yesterday were now standing in the graveyard beside him with moist eyes.
Thankfully, the heavens were crying together with them all, and in the heavy downpour, it was impossible to discern the tears.
"How could this have happened so suddenly?"
"They were both fine just yesterday."
"This is unbelievable."
Many were shocked and many were speechless, but by now, everyone knew that Gaius and Lillian both had passed away silently in their sleep.
By the time Allen woke up from sleep the next morning, his parents had both peacefully and quietly slipped into the embrace of the ’Law’ of ’Death.’
There was no pain or suffering; there was no despair or regret. They had both passed away peacefully without needing to face the decay of old age.
A peaceful and gentle journey to the next life, this was the death that Allen had written into the destiny of his parents with his own hands.
From today onwards, Allen was free from the shackles of a mortal body; he had no more ties that could be exploited by miasma, and he was now ready to embark on his journey.
But before that, he had to fulfil his duties as a son.
Placing flowers on his parents’ tombs, Allen cried and smiled at the same time.
’Thank you, Mom, Dad... Thank you for everything. If possible, forgive this selfish son of yours for wishing happiness for you two...’
’You two hoped that I would live a happy life, but I have actually already lived a happy and peaceful life with you two long enough.’
’Every single day with you two was filled with peace and happiness; in that time I was more happier than I deserved to be. Thank you for everything.’
’But I have a journey of my own. I have a ’Path’ of my own that I must follow in life...’
With tears flowing from his eyes constantly, Allen promised,
’Mom, Dad, if possible, in the next life, I would choose to your son once again and would live a long peaceful life with you two.’
’But in this life, please let me fulfil my mission; after that, I will accompany you two in the afterlife. This is my promise.’
Time passed and people slowly left.
Death was part of life; no matter how sudden it came or how much shock it brought, people had to accept it and move on in life.
Soon people accepted reality and moved on from the sudden deaths of Gaius and Lillian too.
Allen, on the other hand, quietly packed his luggage and decided to leave the small settlement to venture into the vast world and start his journey of heroism.
Although the friends of parents and other elders tried persuading him, Allen refused their offers and simply replied that he wanted to travel the world and fulfill his parents’ wish to live a life of freedom and self-improvement.
With that excuse, no one could stop him.
Allen had already made up his mind to leave, and with his parents dead, there were no more shackles binding him to this small settlement.
His parents had fled here because they were hated by their village and were considered criminals; they had no other place in the world, but Allen was different.
He had not committed a crime and was free to go anywhere in the world; he didn’t have to stay in this place where only those rejected by the world stayed.
He had a more important journey ahead of him than spending the rest of his life here.
With Bela, Nova, and the other fairies in tow, Allen chose to depart from the settlement five days after the death of his parents.
Unlike before, Bela now had a goal in her mind; she was not an aimless wanderer anymore, and even Nova had hope in her eyes.
Allen was the savior that they had been waiting for; from this day, the fate of the world was about to change.
It was a bright day with a clear sky, perfect for the beginning of a new adventure, and thus the ’hero’s party’ set off on their journey without further delay!
