Lia learned from the spirit that the Fountain of Elemental Life, once used to birth fairies, was destroyed long before the thousand-year war, causing their population to dwindle without new generations and leading to near extinction amid constant threats. Despite their immortality and protection in the dragon valley, the fairies faced relentless persecution. Accompanied by Lyria and Miria, Lia was mistaken for a royal fairy and warmly welcomed by others around the fountain before they entered the grand, ornate temple filled with stronger, ancient fairies. In the temple's hall, they approached a floating statue revealed as a primitive atlas of the universe, a sacred object that drew greed from other races due to its immense value and the fairies' possession of such treasures.

Upon finishing their devotions to the Grand Atlas of the cosmos, Lyria and Miria guided Lia away from the main temple hall and into a branching corridor. This path veered toward a more secluded and desolate sector of the temple complex. The walls were adorned with exceptionally polished, intricate carvings depicting various celestial phenomena, including magnetars, black holes, quasars, and cosmic dust clouds. It was clearly the labor of a true master artisan. 'Even though I possess little expertise regarding murals or fine art, this is breathtakingly beautiful. I had no idea fairies were such masterful architects,' Lia murmured.

[Nay... it is highly improbable that fairies were responsible for this creation,] Kai interjected. [Fairies are not known for constructing edifices or even the humblest huts; they lack the inclination for settlement, much less the capacity to build a temple.] Confused by this revelation, Lia pondered, 'If that is the case, how was this temple constructed? The logic seems contradictory.' [To my knowledge, fairies lack the ingenuity to craft such complex designs, yet in ages past, they were the race possessing the greatest number of legendary artifacts in existence. Perhaps this temple is a manifestation of some ancient relic or, perhaps, a direct benediction from the world itself.]

The more Kai spoke, the deeper Lia’s bewilderment grew. 'A blessing from the world? Does the world bestow legendary relics and pre-built structures as gifts? I have never even heard of such a phenomenon.' Kai scoffed, his tone shifting to one of composed disdain. [You surely cannot believe that fairies are simpletons who worship the world out of blind faith, do you? The world shows partiality toward the fairy race; consider that even should you eradicate every fairy, new ones manifest spontaneously from elemental shifts and natural environmental phenomena. No other species undergoes such an odd origin; even demons adhere to a traditional life cycle!]

Kai craned his feline neck to observe Miria and Lyria ushering them along before continuing: [Much like when the world intervened to protect Riya upon her awakening a legendary skill, it provides such boons to fairies quite regularly. In ancient eras, fairies were arguably the wealthiest beings, frequently showered with potent legendary artifacts by the world itself.] 'It is no mystery why so many races treated them with hostility; envy over their inherent prosperity must have been overwhelming,' Lia mused. She sighed inwardly, considering the grand history. 'The millennial wars, the orc conflicts, the incessant tribal frictions, and the downfall of the Maya continent—it all boiled down to resources.'

Mana crystals, artifacts, land, and aquatic territories—these commodities have always served as the primary instigators of war. In instances like the Orc War, people themselves were treated as mere resources. The great demon extinction campaign was fueled by the demons' desire to subjugate the world and enslave all life under the weight of miasma. Conversely, the World Alliance refused to concede a single patch of soil or mineral wealth, leading to a protracted struggle that nearly drove one side to complete erasure. Centuries of conflict have, in one way or another, been consistently tethered to the struggle for resources.

"We have arrived! Welcome to the Garden of Knowledge, where Nova imparts wisdom about the cosmos to other fairies!" "Since it is still broad daylight, she must certainly be present!" The sisters' exclamation pulled Lia back to the present. As the long corridor terminated, they stepped into a medium-sized chamber resembling an indoor botanical sanctuary. Exotic flora and herbs grew from both the soil and various containers; Lia even identified rare Black Roses, which were famously Rio’s favored blossoms. The crisp, verdant aroma from the garden brought a genuine warmth to Lia's heart.

Guided by the twins, the group approached the garden center where a girl of about ten summers, with brownish-green hair, sat upon a bench. Perched atop her head sat a tiny fairy with hair of snow-white, lecturing the child on some matter. "Bela! I have cautioned you previously about associating with those rascally little creatures in the forest! You snuck out with them again yesterday, did you not?" Upon hearing the reprimand, the girl slumped her shoulders and whispered, "B-but teacher, I only..." The fairy immediately cut her off. "No buts! If you insist on causing such mischief again, there will be no apples for your meals!" The threat of lost snacks caused little Bela to recoil in visible despair.

"Look! Nova is picking on Bela again!" "Hehe~ Ever since she arrived in Kenorland, Nova has treated her like this~" "Boo~ Old granny Nova has lost her mind again~ Boo~" Hearing the taunts from Lyria and Miria, Nova the white-haired fairy brandished a small twig she had concealed in her sleeve. "So, you two have finally arrived... I have been waiting for you troublemakers to return. Granny? Old? Senile? Hah! Today I shall demonstrate what befalls those who slight this lady!" Observing Nova take flight, brandishing her stick with fervor, the twins immediately scattered in panic.

"Run! The senile hag has truly lost it!" "Run for your lives! Nova forgot her medicinal draught and is on a rampage!" The duo’s teasing only stoked Nova’s fury further. "Once I trap you two imps, you will learn the true meaning of disrespecting your elders!" Witnessing the unfolding chaos, Lia could only stand by in stunned, helpless silence.
