Rebirth Space Pretty Girl Chapter 3026: just a monster

Previously on Rebirth Space Pretty Girl...
Confronted by armed assailants, Murong Lingran remains defiant despite the odds stacked against her. An attempted ambush quickly devolves into chaos as arrows inexplicably fall short of her, leading her enemies to question her strange power. Realizing the futility of their attack, her adversaries contemplate retreat, but Murong seizes the moment, grabbing an arrow and preparing to take the fight back to them. With poison on her weapon, the tension escalates as the masked leader warns his men of the impending danger. The situation grows dire, with escape seemingly slipping away for her foes.

The opposing group was briefly paralyzed with shock, but they quickly regained their senses, turning their steeds in a desperate attempt to flee.

However, within moments, both the men and their horses collapsed onto the earth, rendered completely immobile.

Murong raised an eyebrow at the sight, noting that the efficacy of this medicine was truly impressive.

"Which one of you will be the first to reveal the master behind this? Whoever speaks up first might find me in a good mood, and I might just spare your life."

A heavy silence followed; not a single person spoke.

Murong added, "I am telling the truth."

Still, the group remained stubbornly silent.

Suddenly, the masked leader erupted into laughter. "Chunling County Master, you are indeed clever, and I truly admire you. However, you have overlooked one vital detail."

Murong arched an eyebrow and asked, "And what might that be?"

The masked leader replied, "As a person, one cannot afford to be too self-righteous. Otherwise, you will eventually fall into a trap—one that is entirely unexpected."

Frowning, Murong asked, "What do you mean by that?"

The masked leader sneered, "Turn your head and see for yourself."

Murong Lingran had no choice but to glance back.

The instant she turned around, a child lunged toward her, driving a dagger directly at her abdomen.

Startled, Murong reacted quickly, pushing the child away while clutching her stomach, staring at the youth in disbelief.

Under her shove, the child tumbled back to the ground.

Seeing this, Stone and the others moved swiftly to seize him.

The masked leader let out a triumphant grin. "You didn't expect that, did you? You are so devoted to these children, yet you failed to realize one of them belongs to me, planted specifically for a situation like this. You have been poisoned now. If you want to live, neutralize the poison in us immediately, or you will perish from that toxin."

Murong Lingran turned her gaze toward Stone and questioned, "Stone, isn't he a child from Lihua Village?"

Stone shook his head, looking confused. "No, I assumed he was a student who came from a neighboring village to attend school."

He then asked with great anxiety, "Sister Ran, are you hurt?"

Murong kept her hand pressed against her stomach and remained silent.

Stone looked down at the child he was restraining and demanded angrily, "Who are you? Why would you stab Sister Ran?"

The child sobbed, "I... I'm sorry. My parents were captured by them. They promised that if I could launch a sneak attack on Sister Ran, they would release my parents. I didn't want to do it, I'm truly sorry."

"Is an apology supposed to fix this? If anything happens to my sister, I will never forgive you!"

The masked leader spoke up again, "County Lord, did you hear me? I ordered you to release us."

"Release you? And why exactly should I do that?"

"Your Ladyship, you've been wounded in the stomach. Has your brain ceased to function as well?"

"Hmph." Murong Lingran suddenly stood up straight, pulling the dagger away from her midsection. She remarked calmly, "Who did you say has the brain injury?"

Setting aside the fact that she wore soft golden armor, the Divine Lord Changqi would never allow her to be harmed.

The crowd was stunned to see that her abdomen was completely uninjured.

Even the child who had attempted the assassination widened his eyes in shock.

The masked leader's face filled with terror as he stammered, "You... you are a monster! A monster!"

No wonder they were no match for Murong Lingran; this person was simply inhuman.

Murong rolled her eyes and said, "Have you never heard of soft golden armor that is impervious to blades and spears? Since I ventured out here alone, how could I not come fully prepared?"

"Where did you obtain such soft golden armor?"

"It was a gift from His Majesty, of course."

The masked man fell into a state of total despair. Their final gambit had failed miserably. It seemed their fates were sealed today.
