Students are tasked with moving books, leading some to question the definition of heroism. Meanwhile, Jiang Ning leaves class during study time, unhindered due to his past contributions, while newcomer Xiao Shaoxiong is stopped. Later, Jiang Ning joins Guo Ran in the office, where intern teacher Xiao Tao faces a harsh reprimand from Director Yan for various perceived infractions, culminating in a demand for a lengthy self-review.

Following Director Yan's pronouncements, his gaze shifted back to Guo Ran. He noticed her shimmering earrings and was about to speak when he saw Jiang Ning beside her. Recalling that Xue Yuantong frequently visited to play games, and that the school had thus equipped a high-end computer, Director Yan decided to refrain.

Acknowledging the situation, Director Yan nodded and departed.

Guo Ran observed his departure but was not overly concerned. As a teacher who had successfully passed the official national recruitment examinations, she felt Director Yan's potential targeting would have limited impact.

Nevertheless, she recognized the wisdom in avoiding criticism and maintaining a neutral relationship. As the director of academic affairs, any discord could negatively affect her professional title and various bonuses—tangible financial benefits.

After Director Yan’s exit, Teacher Xiao Tao’s tears intensified, and Mrs. Zhou diligently offered her tissues.

The valiant Gao Heshuai attempted to encourage her, stating, "Xiao Tao, you are too timid! Observe my demeanor; would Director Yan dare to criticize me?"

A graduate of Nanshi University with formidable teaching capabilities, Gao Heshuai had been personally recruited by the principal. Consequently, he harbored no fear of Director Yan.

"We must become stronger, significantly stronger!" Gao Heshuai declared, his bulging, bull-like eyes fixed on her as he delivered his pep talk.

Xiao Tao's lamentations only grew louder.

Mrs. Zhou, feeling helpless, gently interjected, "Xiao Gao, perhaps you could moderate your words?"

It became clear why Xiao Gao struggled to find a partner; his personality was indeed peculiar.

Guo Ran observed Xiao Tao's distress and then discreetly nudged Jiang Ning, subtly gesturing with her lips.

"An unusual sight, wouldn't you agree?"

Jiang Ning responded, "This is my first time witnessing such an event."

He had always held a certain reverence for the teaching profession, viewing educators as figures of authority.

The intensity of the scolding he had just witnessed was beyond his expectations.

Guo Ran confided in a whisper, "I've encountered similar situations multiple times. Some of my former classmates who didn't secure positions within the official system ended up in private schools, where they face constant reprimands."

Jiang Ning remarked, "It appears to be much like any other professional environment."

Guo Ran philosophized, "Wherever people gather, a Jianghu inevitably forms."

Following a period of Mrs. Zhou offering comfort, a student from Class 10 rushed to the office door, exclaiming urgently, "Teacher Zhou, a fight has broken out in your class; you should attend to it immediately!"

Unable to continue consoling Xiao Tao, Mrs. Zhou promptly rose and hurried to Class 11, the class under her direct supervision. The situation was critical; any repercussions from a fight would place significant responsibility upon her as the homeroom teacher.

Gao Heshuai let out a scornful chuckle. "These students are entirely undisciplined."

Xiao Tao continued to weep.

Noticing her continued distress and the lack of comfort from others, Gao Heshuai approached and resumed his impassioned lecture. "A school is, in essence, a microcosm of survival where the weak are preyed upon by the strong. I advise you to emulate Teacher Chen Haiyang. He is the most seasoned instructor at our school. Despite multiple invitations from Second Middle School, he has consistently declined."

"If he were subjected to criticism today, he could likely spew saliva directly onto Director Yan's face while berating him!"

Gao Heshuai concluded, "Xiao Tao, you must strive relentlessly to become stronger!"

Guo Ran felt a wave of embarrassment so potent she bit her lip.

Approximately ten minutes later, Mrs. Zhou reappeared, her countenance radiant. Confetti adorned her hair, and a slice of cake rested in her hand.

Gao Heshuai stared in bewilderment. "Did you not mention a fight occurring in your class?"

How had the situation transformed into a celebration with cake?

Mrs. Zhou beamed, her voice sweet as honey. "They orchestrated a playful deception. Upon entering the classroom, I discovered they had prepared a surprise for me. It is my birthday today!"

While taken aback, Gao Heshuai couldn't suppress a twinge of envy.

He had served as a homeroom teacher on several occasions, yet his students notoriously disliked him. Receiving cake was entirely out of the question; he would consider himself fortunate if they refrained from cursing him behind his back!

Sigh!

Mrs. Zhou, her mood exceptionally uplifted and demonstrating remarkable social grace, announced, "However, let it be known, I have accepted only a single slice of cake. Xiao Tao, elder sister is gifting this portion to you."

"Oh? Xiao Tao, why are you still weeping?" Mrs. Zhou inquired, perplexed.

At that precise moment, Wang Longlong arrived at the office entrance. "Teacher Gao, this is alarming; a fight has erupted in your class!"

Mrs. Zhou, ever perceptive to the emotional undercurrents, remarked, "Well now, Xiao Gao, it appears fortune smiles upon you today."

Gao Heshuai, internally jubilant, promptly exited with Wang Longlong.

He mused, "After years of dedicated effort, my reward is finally manifesting. What delightful surprise awaits me?"

"Should it be cake, I shall divide it: half for my colleague Qian Baoqiang to foment jealousy, and the other half for my mother, accompanied by the declaration, 'Your son is a teacher cherished by his students!'"

Gao Heshuai quickened his pace, his steps becoming increasingly rapid. Just moments before entering the classroom, the burly, dark-skinned man found himself overcome with a sense of nervous anticipation.

With the transition complete, Gao Heshuai finally crossed the threshold, moving past the limitations of Class 9.

His gaze landed upon Shen Xinli and Lu Zhenxin, who were locked in a fierce physical altercation. Desks lay overturned amidst the chaos, while the rest of the students formed a circle, watching the spectacle and erupting in cheers.

The sight hit him like a splash of ice-cold water, solidifying his thought: "They are truly fighting!"
