Rebirth: Slice-of-life Cultivation Chapter 1760 - 968: Wicked Woman (5K)
Previously on Rebirth: Slice-of-life Cultivation...
It was Friday afternoon, during the second period, which was Physics class.
Normally, at this exact time, Teacher Ouyang would have already ditched his students to head to his part-time tutoring job in An City. However, he had recently been disciplined by the school.
Teacher Ouyang, a man in his forties, was hesitant to resign. The primary reasons were the absence of a pension and the loss of his tenured position; additionally, continuing to tutor would negatively impact his professional credentials.
As a result, he was compelled to remain at school to teach physics, planning to take on tutoring gigs during the winter and summer breaks instead.
He had anticipated a period of calm, but unexpectedly found himself targeted by the P.E. teacher!
Therefore, before the class commenced, Teacher Ouyang made it a point to emphasize that the day's lesson would cover comprehensive dynamics problems, a topic he wouldn't revisit if missed.
This was his strategy to counteract the influence of the P.E. teacher.
Upon entering the classroom and scanning the room, he noted with satisfaction that, aside from a few absent art and sports students, the rest of the class had remained present.
Nevertheless, the lingering chatter within the classroom irked him.
Teacher Ouyang's brow furrowed as he sternly admonished, "Hasn't the bell already signaled the start of class? Why can I still hear people talking?"
Cui Yu retorted cheekily, "Because, Teacher, you have ears."
Teacher Ouyang fixed him with a stern gaze.
After a significant pause, he finally inquired, "Do you have an issue with me?"
Many students in Class 8 inwardly scoffed, deeming him shameless; after all, he had been skipping class for a year and a half every week to tutor, and they certainly had a problem with that.
Teacher Ouyang declared, "If anyone has a problem with me, you are free to leave right now!"
Wu Xiaoqi, clutching a basketball, stood up and departed with a distinct thud, politely adding, "Thank you, Teacher Ouyang."
From the back row, Gong Jin inquired, "Is he always like this?"
Wang Yong explained, "His family deals in supplementary educational materials; they have considerable connections."
"No wonder," Gong Jin mused.
Teacher Ouyang suppressed his irritation and turned his attention back to Cui Yu, asking, "Do you also have an issue with me?"
Meng Gui interjected helpfully, "He certainly doesn't have a problem with you, or else he would have left already."
Teacher Ouyang relaxed his intense stare, recognizing that, as a subject teacher, he still held some authority.
He commenced his lecture, activating the projector to display a classic dynamics problem involving 'a block being pushed by an athlete on an ice surface.'
The problem read: 'On a horizontal ice surface, a fixed vertical barrier stands. A skater, initially at rest and facing the barrier, applies a force to a block of mass M = 4.0KG, which is also at rest...'
Teacher Ouyang possessed competent teaching skills, providing detailed and thorough explanations. However, a considerable number of students still struggled to comprehend the material.
Chen Siyu, for instance, felt as though she were listening to incomprehensible gibberish, idly wishing she could just end it all.
Teacher Ouyang stated, "This section is relatively straightforward. As long as you internalize the fundamental principles of momentum and energy conservation and practice numerous problems, you will gradually achieve mastery.
He then shifted his tone, adding, "Take my son, for example. He is a year ahead of your grade level and has always excelled at physics problems since he was young. He has already secured a place in a 985 university, and to top it off, he's 1.87 meters tall..."
Teacher Ouyang proudly recounted his son's impressive accomplishments.
Suddenly, the afternoon sun streamed through the window, illuminating Lu Qiqi’s nail art. The reflected light flashed across Teacher Ouyang’s glasses.
Teacher Ouyang glanced at Lu Qiqi, remarking sarcastically, "Some girls, dressed so ostentatiously and sporting nail art, are you here to study, or are you seeking attention?"
Upon hearing this, Lu Qiqi became visibly upset.
She retorted, "If we go by your logic, isn't Yun Tingting from Class 3 just like me? Your son even confessed his feelings to her not too long ago."
Teacher Ouyang's face turned pale with anger. He was, of course, aware of Yun Tingting’s reputation; she spent her days playing badminton downstairs, which, from his traditional perspective, was simply promiscuous behavior!
He protested heatedly, "My son would never be involved with her!"
Lu Qiqi scoffed, "Of course not, because Yun Tingting rejected him."
Enraged, Teacher Ouyang hurled his textbook and stormed out of the classroom!
The students were left stunned. "No way, our teacher just left?"
"So, what are we supposed to do now?"
The acting class monitor, Wang Longlong, called out, "Chen Qian, do you understand this problem?"
Chen Qian's expression remained impassive, replying, "Not a problem at all."
Wang Longlong's face lit up with delight, "Excellent! You can teach the rest of the class then!"
Chen Qian adjusted his black-rimmed glasses and rose, assuming the posture of a learned scholar.
Chen Qian was indeed a diligent student. His innate talent wasn't particularly remarkable, falling far short of Lin Zida and the other top ten students in their grade. The knowledge he possessed was accumulated through painstaking, bit-by-bit effort, resulting in an exceptionally solid foundation. He was now even approaching the admission score for Qinghua University.
Chen Qian's ability to explain problems was also quite good, but that was the extent of his exceptional qualities.
Even slow learners like Chen Siyu were still struggling to grasp the concept.
The other students, however, were overjoyed; Class 8 had once again achieved internal circulation.
Meanwhile, a furious Teacher Ouyang stormed back into the office and immediately dialed his son.
Senior Brother Ouyang was currently engrossed in a basketball game. Despite having secured his position, the new school term wouldn't commence until September. His family was well-off; his father, though morally ambiguous, had amassed significant wealth through tutoring, negating the need for any summer employment.
His primary objectives were obtaining a driver's license and frequenting Fourth Middle School, a place teeming with intriguing individuals, including a certain young lady who had captured his interest.
The tall and charismatic Senior Brother Ouyang skillfully maneuvered past his opponents on the court, while the younger female students offered enthusiastic applause, presenting him with water and snacks.
“Ah, life is truly magnificent!” Ouyang mused, believing these coming months represented the pinnacle of his existence.
Abruptly, a voice from a junior female student pierced the air, “Ouyang, your phone! It’s ringing!”
Ouyang excused himself from the basketball court, answered the incoming call, and was subjected to a blistering tirade from his father, enduring a thorough dressing-down.
A frown creased Ouyang’s face as he retorted, “I am free to like whomever I choose!”
He then abruptly ended the call.
Teacher Ouyang was so enraged that it felt as if steam was escaping his very head.
Within the same office, Chen Haiyang, his thick black hair framing his face, held a goji berry-infused thermos and inquired, “Do you not have a class during this period?”
