Rebirth of a Village Girl Chapter 1403 - 357: Are real sisters! _2
Previously on Rebirth of a Village Girl...
It seems the old saying from future generations holds some truth.
When fathers are left in charge of the children, success is measured simply by whether the kids are still breathing.
Ni Yang didn't restrain herself; she delivered a sharp kick that caused Mo Qishen’s face to drain of color.
Mo Qishen didn't even dare to cry out. While cradling the infant, he pleaded for mercy, "Boss, I was wrong, truly! Please let me off this one time, I swear I won't do it again..."
In his arms, little Mo Ziyin watched with wide, circular eyes, looking as if he were about to burst into laughter.
Mo Qishen was fuming internally but kept his mouth shut.
This time, he had truly been outplayed by this tiny fellow!
Noticing Mo Qishen’s genuine display of repentance, Ni Yang decided not to press him further.
The day for the results finally arrived three days later.
Ni Yang rose with the sun that morning.
Entrusting the children to Mo Qishen, she cautioned, "Brother Mo, you cannot afford any negligence this time. Swap their diapers the moment it's needed, and ensure the bottles are sterilized with boiling water before they feed..."
Despite having a professional nanny on staff, Ni Yang remained uneasy.
Mo Qishen, with a child tucked under each arm, followed Ni Yang to the entrance. "Yangyang, relax. I will handle things perfectly. Just call me immediately once the news arrives from that side."
Ni Yang gave a firm nod. "Mm, I understand."
Instead of heading to Jinghua Village, Ni Yang drove straight to the hospital.
Ni Cuihua and Shangguan Dehui were already standing by the hospital doors, awaiting her arrival.
"Yangyang is here."
Stepping out of the vehicle, Ni Yang hurried toward them. "Mom, is the report out yet?"
Ni Cuihua shook her head. "Not yet, we were waiting for you."
Ni Yang urged, "Alright, let's head inside quickly then."
Even though this wasn't their first experience with a paternity test, the tension was high.
Ni Cuihua’s nerves were frayed.
She lacked the courage to look at the paper herself.
She passed the document to Shangguan Dehui. "Dehui, you check it."
Shangguan Dehui, equally anxious, passed it along to Ni Yang. "It’s better if Yangyang is the one to see it."
Ni Yang remained relatively composed. She took the envelope and calmly pulled out the contents to review the findings.
Ni Cuihua watched her daughter’s face without blinking.
She was so gripped by anxiety that she forgot to inhale.
Shangguan Dehui swallowed hard. Seeing Ni Yang remain silent, he whispered, "Yangyang, what does it say?"
Ni Yang looked up at them both. "Mom, Dad, Qingzhu is indeed the fourth sister!"
It was confirmed!
Ni Qingzhu was the fourth sister!
"Is it true?" Ni Cuihua grabbed the test result, her eyes racing over the lines. When she reached the final conclusion, she finally exhaled a long-held breath.
It was real!
It was actually true!
Ni Cuihua clutched the paper to her chest and began to sob loudly.
Twenty years!
She had spent twenty long years waiting!
Her fourth daughter was alive after all!
In the midst of her overwhelming joy, Ni Cuihua remembered to tell Shangguan Dehui to notify the household elders.
"I'll call them this instant." Shangguan Dehui pulled a mobile phone from his bag.
Grandmother Zheng and Grandfather Zheng were ecstatic upon hearing the news!
They had never dared to hope they would live long enough to find this granddaughter.
Standing nearby, little Ni Yun asked with curiosity, "Grandpa, Grandma, why are you so happy? Has something wonderful happened?"
"Good news! Incredible news!" Grandmother Zheng pulled Little Ni Yun into a hug. "This is a blessing from the heavens!"
"What is it?" the child asked.
Grandmother Zheng explained, "We have finally found your fourth sister!"
"Really?" Little Ni Yun cried out in excitement.
"Truly!" Grandmother Zheng nodded firmly.
Little Ni Yun shouted happily, "Then I must go tell big sister the good news right now!"
"Go on then, hurry! And call for your third sister. We are all going to see your fourth sister!"
After Ni Yang and Ni Cuihua waited for a short while, Grandfather and Grandmother Zheng arrived to join them.
Joining the group were Adelle, Shangguan Xu, Shangguan Xi, and Wu Chenjun.
The entire family, occupying five cars, traveled in a convoy toward Ni Qingzhu’s workplace.
Realizing that a large crowd might cause a scene at the company entrance, the others reserved a large private dining room at a restaurant nearby.
Ni Yang, Ni Cuihua, Shangguan Dehui, and Little Ni Yun went inside to find Ni Qingzhu.
Even though Ni Qingzhu had prepared herself mentally, her hands trembled as she took the results from Ni Cuihua.
She had not fully expected the reality—that she was truly Ni Cuihua’s biological daughter and Ni Yang’s fourth sister...
"Pretty sister, are you really my fourth sister?" Little Ni Yun asked, tugging on Ni Qingzhu’s clothes.
"I am." Ni Qingzhu knelt down and playfully pinched the girl's cheek. "Are you Yunyun?"
"Yes, I'm Yunyun!"
Little Ni Yun threw her arms around Ni Qingzhu. "Fourth sister, I'm so happy we found you. You have no idea how much Mom has missed you all this time." Despite being only seven, Little Ni Yun was quite perceptive; she had witnessed her mother’s grief every day.
"Qingzhu!" Ni Cuihua’s tears flowed freely as she pulled Ni Qingzhu into an embrace. "Qingzhu, I am so sorry! I saw you so many times and never realized you were my own child... I am so sorry..."
When she first met Ni Qingzhu, the girl was only sixteen or seventeen.
Back then, she had been just like the young Ni Yang.
She had been all alone, struggling to survive in the world with nothing. If the truth had been discovered sooner, Ni Qingzhu wouldn't have had to endure such hardships.
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..."
Ni Qingzhu was unsure how to comfort her mother. Growing up without a mother's affection, this sudden outpouring of love left her feeling overwhelmed.
Ni Cuihua added, "Oh, and this is your father."
"Dad," Ni Qingzhu said softly.
"Yes!" Shangguan Dehui’s eyes were bloodshot with emotion. "It’s enough that you're back. That's all that matters."
Ni Yang interrupted, "Grandpa, Grandma, and the others are all waiting for us outside. Let’s head over."
"Alright."
The family gathered at the neighboring restaurant.
Ni Yang acted as the host, introducing everyone to Ni Qingzhu.
Shangguan Xi presented a jewelry set to her. "Fourth sister, since this is our first meeting, I wanted to give you something. It’s not much, but please accept it."
Ni Qingzhu could tell immediately that the set was incredibly expensive; she felt hesitant to take such a lavish gift.
Shangguan Xi beamed. "Fourth sister, if you consider me your sister, you must take it! There’s no need for such politeness between us."
"Thank you then, Sister Xiaoxi."
Even though the meeting was sudden, Adelle had also brought a gift. Ni Yang, meanwhile, presented her with a property deed.
Each sister tried to outdo the other with their generosity.
Three months passed in an instant.
As the temperature rose, the three infants wore fewer layers. Their plump little bodies were dressed only in bibs, revealing limbs that looked like smooth white lotus roots.
They were as charming as the chubby babies depicted in traditional New Year paintings, and they looked nearly identical.
Ni Yang was obsessed with them, constantly showering them with hugs and kisses throughout the day.
Mo Qishen felt a twinge of jealousy every time he watched this.
After all, he was the one who had married her.
Why was she always doting on someone else's future husbands?
"Boss! Boss! I'm actually quite adorable too!" Mo Qishen said, shamelessly leaning his head toward her.
"You really have no shame," Ni Yang joked, though she still leaned in to give him a light kiss on the cheek.
Mo Qishen was delighted. He then noted, "Yangyang, our children are nearly three and a half months old now!"
"Mm." Ni Yang nodded. "What about it?"
"Almost three and a half months!" Mo Qishen emphasized, holding up three fingers.
Ni Yang pretended not to understand. "I know they are three and a half months old! I can count, do you think I'm an idiot?"
"Yangyang!" Mo Qishen’s words tripped over each other in his frustration.
Ni Yang laughed. "What are you actually trying to say? Just be direct!"
Mo Qishen steeled himself, discarding his dignity. "It's time to deliver the goods!"
