Li Yuan carried Shen Xi through the festive Li Mansion entrance, lined with fresh rose petals and showered by drones amid joyful onlookers. They bantered about his sleepless night and her fatigue as he held her to the dressing room, where the brides teased her before the grooms followed suit. Families gathered outside, Song Wenye's late-arriving parents offering brief words while she opted for her grandfather to escort her to the hall.

The Song family understood perfectly their role in their daughter's world. Gazing guiltily into Song Wenye's eyes, her parents forced a smile and turned to leave.

Song Wenye sobbed out, "Grandpa, Grandpa! Come here."

The heartrending scene rendered Old Man Song speechless. He stepped forward to his beaming granddaughter. "Parents ought to be by your side for such a momentous day."

"I don't care about what's proper. I want you, Grandpa." Rules and customs meant nothing to Song Wenye right now. "I'm tying the knot today. It's my special day, so my word is law."

"Alright. You call the shots." Old Man Song's face split into a huge grin.

Forget it. Song Wenye's parents were overdue for a dose of their own neglect toward their child. What sort of parents bring kids into the world only to abandon them?

All the guests had assembled.

The brides proceeded down the aisle with their parents.

Shen Zhangqing and Yun Jinping flanked Shen Xi.

Fu Junqiu walked with Fu Handing and Shangguan Yanqiu.

Shen Tang accompanied her own parents.

Song Wenye had Old Man Song and Jiang Yin beside her.

Jiang Yin initially felt it was inappropriate, especially with Song Wenye's parents present. But she ended up escorting Song Wenye down the aisle instead of them. It felt like a subtle jab at Song Wenye's parents.

Still, Jiang Yin decided it wasn't a huge issue upon reflection. She would always follow Lil' Ye's wishes. No matter the gossip or judgments from others, Lil' Ye would have chosen her parents for this pivotal life event if they had been decent ones.

Tears brimmed in Shen Zhangqing's eyes. He had braced himself earlier and felt steady, but handing his daughter's hand to another man overwhelmed him with emotion.

All he wished was for his daughter's lifelong happiness. That was his sole desire.

Yun Jinping gripped Shen Xi's hand tightly while brushing away her tears. Her voice came out raspy. "Why are you crying? Don't cry. You'll make me cry too."

Her daughter always stayed strong. Yun Jinping had never witnessed her tears before, but here was Xixi weeping on this happy day.

Denying her own sobs, Shen Xi glanced at Fu Qingxuan. "Quit crying. You're ruining my makeup."

For whatever reason, maybe the overwhelming moment, she couldn't halt the tears streaming down. Her makeup was a goner.

Fu Qingxuan wiped his eyes too, feeling deeply unjust. He wasn't the one crying hard—she was. He couldn't fathom her blaming him on their wedding day.

Yet Fu Qingxuan chose to overlook it because it was her special occasion. Alright, he'd play the crybaby and take the fall.

The wedding march echoed through the hall, filling it with reverence. Every guest fixed their gaze on the central couple, hearts brimming with genuine well-wishes.

Li Yuan waited at the altar's end, watching his beloved approach with her parents. Nerves fluttered within him.

Step by step, she drew nearer. Her visage had long been imprinted on his heart, mind, and very being—he knew every curve without a glance.

In her pristine white gown, Shen Xi resembled a descended angel. Her smile banished all worldly chaos from her eyes, leaving just her radiant presence.

Joy and boundless, dizzying love surged through Li Yuan's heart as their fingers intertwined.

Thunderous applause erupted while the pairs recited vows of everlasting devotion, swapped rings, and sealed it with a kiss.

A cascade of petals rained upon the newlyweds, crafting the world's most stunning masterpiece—a scene to inspire awe and envy.

The poignant, heartfelt spectacle brought joyful tears to many in the audience.

Once the ceremony concluded, it was time to switch outfits and proceed to the toasts.

The event wrapped up just after five in the evening.

Shen Xi felt utterly drained, too wiped out to move. She collapsed onto the bed in her wedding dress, skipping the change. Weddings were utterly exhausting.

By the time Li Yuan came back, night had fallen. Seeing her asleep still in her gown, he furrowed his brow and glanced at the room's thermostat. Luckily, the temp was perfect, or she might have gotten sick sleeping like that.

Exhausted beyond measure, Shen Xi slumbered deeply, even snoring softly. She looked endearingly messy without freshening up or changing.

Li Yuan settled beside her, gently poking her nose as he whispered fondly, "Mrs. Li, time to wake up for dinner."

All the others were waiting outside. Only Shen Xi slipped back inside for a quick nap as everyone else slaved away outdoors. Aunt Junqiu especially buzzed with endless vigor. She paused just long enough to spruce up and swap into casual clothes before jumping in to direct the crew on clearing out the mess.

Shen Xi let out a soft whine while rubbing her nose, then rolled over to slip back into slumber.

Li Yuan leaned in close and whispered into her ear. "Aren't you hungry? Mom made your favorite coconut chicken."

In her foggy state, the mention of "coconut chicken" made Shen Xi narrow her eyes. She draped her slender arm around his neck and snuggled right in. "Hmm… Hugs."

Li Yuan scooped her up and carried her to the bathroom.

Shen Xi snapped to awareness only after her clothes got removed. She stared at Li Yuan in bewilderment. "I thought we're to eat? Are we doing it now?"

Their wedding night was not meant for the bathroom!

"Bath, dinner, and then our wedding night." Li Yuan had everything planned out. He eased the girl into the bathtub he had already filled.

Shen Xi wiggled her toes and released a delighted sigh. Lounging relaxed in the tub, she teased playfully, "Hubby, bathe me."

Li Yuan gazed deeply at his lovely wife. His breathing grew rough, a primal hunger surging deep inside as he washed her body.

Keeping himself in check took every ounce of his willpower.

Yet the bath fully woke the girl up. She started teasing dangerously, luring and driving him right to the brink. In the end, he could no longer contain the wild beast inside.

Safe in his arms, Shen Xi grinned smugly at her victory. But disaster hit moments later. She heaved and bowed her head to vomit.

The blazing desire in Li Yuan fizzled out completely. She came first above all, so Li Yuan clutched her arm in panic, his sharp voice cutting through the air. "What's wrong? Do you feel sick?"
