Bandits from the Lost Heartens razed a barbarian settlement, slaughtering the elderly and disabled while capturing children, men, and women for enslavement, labor, or prostitution. To break their captives' spirits, the raiders publicly assaulted several women, killing some in their depravity. The Vice-Captain executed a disobedient bandit for damaging valuable 'merchandise,' then reported to Captain Brock Peyton about a discovered mineral vein and the unexpected survival of Fortuna, whose leader seeks a mediated meeting via the Black Scar Syndicate.
