The crying monk then injected a vast amount of energy into the collected pieces with practiced precision, his movements deliberate and controlled.
It started to transform before Vritra's eyes, shifting and morphing into a human like form with fluid grace.
Within minutes, a clone of Vritra was standing before him, even wearing the exact same clothes down to the last detail. Perfect replication in every aspect.
It appeared exactly like him in every way, though the strength of this clone was already at the level 10 demi god. But it was lifeless, like a marionette with invisible strings, and could even be destroyed with a mere thought from its creator.
But it doesn't seem to possess any of his abilities or divine techniques naturally, remaining an empty vessel waiting to be filled.
"You can control this thing to act in your stead in the higher being realm, and also fight the god's war without your direct involvement." The crying monk explained thoroughly.
"I will inform your family about this carefully. More importantly, you can give one of your divine ability to it for better performance." His tone carried the weight of instruction.
Vritra hummed thoughtfully as he tried controlling the puppet, focusing his will with intense concentration. With just a thought he was easily able to move it however he wished, directing its limbs and movements with precision.
He doesn't even need to pay too much attention to maintain control, it was almost instinctive, like moving his own body.
For now, he can use it to deal with the Holy Righteous heretics strategically, then fight the gods using its strength, and finally discard this clone when its usefulness ends. By then with his strength would be very high, far beyond what it is now.
After pondering for a few moments, Vritra chose one skill: 'Forbidden', it is one of his stronger abilities with devastating power.
And since it's a clone of sort of his, so it can obviously use the blood and dust manipulation with natural ease.
Aside from that, Vritra also added wisps of misty essence and nihil anima mythic halo, just to be sure his puppet could stand against gods. This puppet is going to fight against the gods after all, so this much would be needed.
After Vritra was done with the transfers, the crying monk spoke: "You will have to complete this challenge on your own, I can't enter this space nor provide anymore help." His voice carried finality and understanding.
"I understand." Vritra stared at the rift with determination, wondering if he will be able to uncover more of titan race secrets and hidden knowledge locked within those fragments.
"Oh right, I will come soon to deliver those level 8, 9 and 10 demi god levels orbs, I will pass them to you, but by that many years and lives would have already passed for you." The latter part he murmured to himself softly, his expression grave. Finally with a faint smile he said:
"Do your best and don't give up. That staff will help you when you feel lost and guide you through the darkness." His words carried weight and meaning.
"Okay, then let's start." Vritra spoke, ready to begin his descent into the titan rift, steeling his resolve.
…
Immediately after all preparations were completely finalized, Vritra wasted no time and stepped toward the rift, or rather his body was pulled inside violently by the suction force.
His mind was disoriented for a few moments, spinning and reeling, and all senses overwhelmed by the sudden transition.
It took a few minutes of floating in disorientation, before finally Vritra felt better, his mind still buzzing with lingering vertigo.
Vritra looked around carefully, the first thing he felt was the dense quantity of mana in the air, suffocating and thick.
Although it was an endless dark space with no air to breathe, yet the thick mana had replaced it, almost appearing like mist that clung to everything. The density was almost overwhelming.
Even the higher being realm paled in comparison to this concentration of raw power.
Then were the scattered and broken objects that seemed to be lying all over the space, all distinct and brimming with too much energy and whatnot. Fragments of unimaginable power.
Vritra stood there, holding the staff with countless rings, his presence was too little in this place, insignificant against the vastness.
The God's mana started shaking in his body violently, as if resonating with the surrounding mana, even pulling more into his body greedily.
His titan's physique immediately began to undergo a rapid change, adapting to the overwhelming environment.
'Even if I don't absorb or kill those fragments and just stand here for a very long time, my strength would still increase greatly through passive absorption.' Vritra thought, calculating his options.
Then glancing at the staff with its infinite rings of life, he took in a deep breath of the mana-saturated air. Since he got a lot of lives, he decided to go and check things first cautiously.
But still, it was not infinite lives, so he has to be very careful and do his best, or he might end up perishing here permanently.
Though, the crying monk had prepared for such a situation too, considering every possibility.
He cannot allow Vritra to die, therefore in case he dies in this realm completely.
The clone will be replaced with his real body immediately, so he can survive but then he will lose this chance of growing and developing.
His strength will remain at level 10 demi god for a long while, before he heals all injuries and tries to do anything else.
He looked around and searched for the fragments carefully, although they were visible and looked not too distant on the surface.
But flying towards them would be meaningless and foolish, this space is twisted and full of dangers beyond comprehension.
'Hmm Now where should I go?' as he thought desperately, the staff glowed with sudden brilliance and a ray of light illuminated a path ahead, cutting through the darkness.
It began to pull him forward with gentle insistence.
Vritra didn't follow immediately but observed carefully, and saw a piece of flesh that was glowing like a sun, radiating intense light.
It appeared like a tiny piece of meat from this distance, yet the energy emanating from it was extremely dense and oppressive.
Just looking straight at it for too long gave him a splitting headache that threatened to overwhelm his senses.
'Among the surrounding fragments, this isn't too dense or dangerous compared to others. The staff have chosen a rather easy target for a first attempt.' Vritra thought, analyzing the choice.
But it was easy compared to the other fragment, for Vritra it was still at hell difficulty and beyond.
Then without hesitation, he allowed himself to be pulled towards the fragment eagerly, even pushing forward with all his strength to accelerate.
His speed increased to the peak rapidly, faster than ever Vritra had travelled before, almost matching the speed of teleportation itself.
Despite that incredible speed, it still took Vritra over a week before he managed to get close to that fragment.
And he wasn't even in a few kilometres range yet, but the pressure was so high that his entire body started shaking uncontrollably.
Upon getting closer incrementally, Vritra's body seemed to be almost on the verge of breaking apart into pieces.
But he continued to move forward relentlessly, the god's mana supported him from within, keeping his body together against the crushing force.
'This thing is just a piece of flesh of a long dead titan… how strong must the titan itself must have been in its prime?' Vritra felt awe in his heart at the implications, his understanding expanding.
The said tiny piece upon getting closer, was so big that Vritra was like an ant in front of a grown elephant, utterly dwarfed.
Once he reached within a couple kilometres of the meat, the mana from the piece suddenly converged with terrifying speed.
Transforming into a monstrous entity that roared deafeningly, shaking the space around violently and distorting reality. Blood came from Vritra's eyes, nose and ears in rivulets.
His internal organs became a mess and the bones formed countless cracks throughout his body, his conditioning worsening rapidly under the invisible wave of pressure.
But it wasn't enough to kill him instantly, the titan physique holding just barely.
Vritra cleared all thoughts from his mind intentionally, letting his primal instincts take over completely, shedding rationality.
[Titan Fall Activated!]
Vritra's body underwent a drastic transformation too, he didn't hold back one bit in his desperation. His skin, flesh, bones, organs, everything became illusory and translucent, formed all over again from the mess of energies present inside and around his body.
The two titans then attacked one another with primal fury, the monstrous entity was no longer the former titan, it was now just thought and pure instinct, present there to hunt whoever tries to take it.
Maybe if left like that, this thought might develop into a consciousness in the future, and slowly return to being a titan through some cosmic process.
This is exactly why titan are nearly impossible to kill, their fundamental nature resisting annihilation.
On the other hand, Vritra still had his consciousness intact, he hadn't completely lost his mind but at this moment, he didn't care about the damage he received or the amount of pain coursing through him.
The transparent monster's hand cracked nearly half of Vritra's body with devastating power, the force was too high for the current him to resist.
