Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability Chapter 3147: I Thought I Was Seeing Things
Previously on Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability...
There was no way; retrieving the children was paramount. As for the men remaining, the faces of several Elders were etched with fierce determination. If their decision held sway, every one of those men would meet their end.
However, contemplating the fate of those who hadn't fled, they realized that outright killing the escapees might incite even greater chaos.
"Stop dawdling and give chase immediately. We absolutely must recover the children," one Elder commanded.
Regarding the men who remained, the order was clear: eliminate any who offered resistance. Those who submitted were to be taken back and forced into servitude, their cultivation levels to be drained mercilessly before any further decisions were made.
And so, with ravenous intent, all the Elders plunged back into the desert, their objective: the recapture of the people.
Unbeknownst to them, as the Elders and disciples departed on their pursuit, the remaining men who had not escaped finally began to grasp the gravity of the situation.
"Why are there so many children?" one man questioned, bewildered.
"What kind of imperative task necessitates the involvement of so many young ones?" another mused aloud.
"I distinctly overheard a female disciple remark that the task could not proceed without the children. What is the meaning behind all this?" A bewildered group of men found themselves left behind, utterly ignored.
"I have never encountered a mission that halts due to the absence of children. And these are the esteemed Elders of the Saintess Sect, observe their palpable anxiety."
"Could it be that they intend to send these children to their doom?"
Someone among them finally connected the dots. Such a clandestine operation, involving so many children and keeping it secret from those summoned – was this not a sinister conspiracy?
"Fifth Brother, I believe I spotted Little Yan just moments ago," one young man stated, glancing towards his companion. This companion was his own brother, and both hailed from prominent clans. Their participation in the Saintess Sect's task was, in part, driven by their admiration for a certain young lady.
"Was that truly Little Yan? I thought my eyes were deceiving me," the man addressed as Fifth Brother replied.
Moments before, he had dismissed the sighting as a trick of the light, but he was mistaken. It was indeed Little Yan, recognized as the most gifted prodigy within their family, with the highest potential to succeed as the next Family Head.
The current Family Head was meticulously preparing Little Yan for the role of heir, a path far removed from their own status as scattered descendants.
"How could Little Yan possibly be here? Shouldn't he be diligently cultivating with Father?" he inquired, a tone of disbelief coloring his words.
Even with the Saintess Sect's vast resources, Father would never dispatch Little Yan for such a task, especially given that Little Yan was merely six years old. Furthermore, Father himself held no particular admiration for the Saintess Sect.
"Third Brother, are you certain we didn't misidentify him?"
"I am absolutely sure it was Little Yan," Third Brother asserted, shaking his head.
How could he possibly be mistaken? Though the distance was considerable, he was confident that the child being escorted by the burly man was none other than Little Yan, precisely because he had heard Little Yan cry out his name.
Little Yan must have seen him, which was why he had called out.
"It genuinely was Little Yan, so they are… Little Yan was abducted?" Fifth Brother's eyes widened in utter disbelief.
The Saintess Sect had to be out of their minds to undertake a task that involved the kidnapping of children. So many children, where could they have possibly procured them from? Could they all be scions of major clans?
"What course of action should we take now? If the Saintess Sect has indeed captured children from the major clans, it's highly unlikely to be just Little Yan. Shouldn't we rally some allies and mount a rescue mission?"
Upon hearing this suggestion, Third Brother drew a deep, contemplative breath.
While the desire to form an alliance and launch a rescue was strong, they had only personally observed Little Yan, and the identities of the other children remained unknown.
