Huang Yue Li awakens with light movements, using an eye technique to manifest Bai Ruo Yan's deepest fears, making her perceive a vengeful ghost. Terrified and cornered, Bai Ruo Yan confesses that Second Sister and Second Madam orchestrated the murder plot and rumors, while sending her to steal valuables. Desperately pleading for mercy under Huang Yue Li's tightening grip, she returns all stolen items and empties her possessions.

Her eyes swept once more over the clutter scattered across the floor, and Huang Yue Li grumbled in dissatisfaction: “You’re the Marquis House’s Fourth Miss. How can you be so destitute? Are you concealing some other items?”

“Third……Third Sister……I truly didn’t hide anything……”

Frowning deeply, Huang Yue Li pressed her questioning: “No money? Put your hand on your heart and ask if you really have nothing left? Survey the destruction around you. Without proper repayment, how could my ghost let you depart unscathed?” She sneered, her gaze sharpening on Bai Ruo Yan.

Trembling at those words, Bai Ruo Yan stammered shakily: “Third Sister………I really……really don’t have money. Second Sister……she has money, so……so go ask her……” She begged frantically.

“You truly are broke then. Just write an IOU.”

Bai Ruo Yan blinked in bewilderment.

“What?”

Bowing her head, Huang Yue Li rapidly scribbled on a sheet of paper before flinging it at Bai Ruo Yan.

Overwhelmed by terror, Bai Ruo Yan never paused to question why a spirit demanded payment. Without glancing at the words, she seized the brush and scrawled her name instantly.

Snatching up the paper, Huang Yue Li examined it, then nodded approvingly and spoke contentedly: “Alright, we’ll let you owe it for now. Strip off your clothes, kowtow three times to me, and then get lost!”

Bai Ruo Yan froze in shock.

“What? Strip my clothes?”

Even with her mind fogged by fright, she understood the dire repercussions of a lady baring herself completely.

Yet upon meeting Huang Yue Li’s abyssal gaze, the last remnants of her awareness were pulled away.

Under Clear Sky Eye’s dominion, Bai Ruo Yan held zero resistance. Docilely, she obeyed Huang Yue Li’s commands.

In a daze, she disrobed before Huang Yue Li, dropped to her knees, and banged her head three times.

Dong! Dong! Dong!

Sharp, resounding thumps rang out as her forehead crashed hard against the stone tiles.

When she finally raised her head, her forehead was gashed open with blood streaming down.

Huang Yue Li flicked her hand and barked: “Scram!”

Those words hit like an imperial amnesty; Bai Ruo Yan sprang up, charged wildly at the door, burst through it, and fled in panic.

Outside, the serving girls and nurse accompanying Bai Ruo Yan remained deep in their wicked plot, crowding around Bai Ruo Li’s maid as they kept tormenting her.

“I’ll flog this wretched slut to death! Daring to defy our Fourth Miss? You didn’t even check before peeing. What rank is your mistress anyway!”

“Exactly! The curse that killed off Master and Mistress. And she’s utter cultivation waste too! Without family ties, Master never would’ve tolerated her—that’s mercy enough. But she went and cheated with some stranger, disgracing the whole Manor! Not even death can erase that shame!”

“Such a base, shameful wretch, yet she dares withhold the late Master’s heirlooms? Hmph, and hoard them selfishly. But with her dead now, it’s all resolved. Naturally, everything reverts to the Manor!”

“Third……Third Miss……she’s not like that!”

Battered in blood and scarcely alive, she clung tenaciously to life, feebly crying out to vindicate her mistress.

Right then, a piercing scream exploded from the chamber, doors crashing open with a thunderous boom. Startled by the noise, they whipped around to behold a bare figure hurtling forth.

“Who’s that?” Squinting closer, the serving girls gasped: “It’s……Fourth Miss! What’s happened to Fourth Miss? What’s going on?”

Bai Ruo Yan appeared utterly wrecked. Her hair a tangled, dusty mess with no ornaments left, blood oozing from her brow—a horrifying spectacle. Still quaking, she raved madly: “Ghost……spare me Third Sister……spare me…it wasn’t me who harmed you. Please don’t come find me……”
