Power of Runes Chapter 533: Resonance of Fate
Previously on Power of Runes...
The moment Ash selected [YES], the 25% of Chaos he had accumulated slowly disappeared along with the notification window in front of him.
Yet it did not truly vanish, because somewhere beyond anything his senses could perceive, that chaotic power had already entered the Dimension of Fate and begun spreading through it like countless drops of ink falling into a clear lake.
Drops which did not have enough power to taint the whole lake, but had enough power to taint a small area of that clear lake.
The Web of Fate within the Dimension of Fate began to change.
Countless golden threads stretched endlessly across the vastness of the Dimension, connecting worlds, lives, possibilities, and countless existences together, with each thread carrying an almost imperceptible flow of Fate through it, yet as the Chaos entered the Web, several of those threads suddenly trembled.
The tremors were small at first, so small that they seemed insignificant compared to the endless vastness of the Web, but one disturbance soon touched another, and that disturbance touched another, causing the trembling to spread farther and farther through the golden threads.
Then, at one point within the Web, a single node suddenly shifted.
The countless threads connected to it moved with it, pulling several other nodes from their original positions, and those nodes in turn affected the threads connected to them, creating a chain reaction that slowly spread across the surrounding area.
It was like countless dominoes beginning to fall one after another, except these were not simple pieces of stone, but points where countless possibilities and paths of Fate converged.
And when one of those points moved, the possibilities connected to it moved as well.
A possibility that was once certain became uncertain.
A path that was supposed to remain untouched began to branch.
A coincidence that should never have happened suddenly became possible.
As more and more of these disturbances spread through the Web, the golden threads began to vibrate together, and the countless changes occurring within them gradually formed a strange rhythm that continued propagating farther into the Dimension of Fate.
This was the Resonance of Fate.
A rare phenomenon in which the Fate of all beings resonated with one another, allowing countless threads that normally existed apart to briefly connect on a deeper level, creating an extraordinary state in which even the smallest change in one thread could produce ripples across countless others.
Such a phenomenon was extraordinarily rare, so rare that it was considered one of the greatest opportunities a Practitioner of Fate could ever encounter.
Because when the Fate of countless beings resonated as one, the countless paths and possibilities hidden within the Web of Fate would temporarily become clearer, allowing those who comprehended the Law of Fate to perceive mysteries that would normally remain forever beyond their understanding.
And whenever the Resonance of Fate appeared, every Practitioner of Fate touched by it would have the opportunity to enter a state of deep enlightenment.
For countless beings, this phenomenon would become an opportunity they might never encounter even once in their entire lives.
But for one particular existence, it became something far more significant.
Deep within the Dimension of Fate, where the Web stretched beyond the perception of ordinary beings, a figure surrounded by 19 golden chains sat silently.
Arthur.
The Resonance reached him.
**
The countless threads of Fate surrounding Arthur, along with his Chained Fate, suddenly began to tremble.
At first, Arthur thought it was merely another consequence of the disturbances spreading through the Web.
But the longer he observed it, the more clearly he realized that something was terribly different.
The countless threads were not simply shifting according to the changes in Fate; they were beginning to resonate with one another in a way that he had witnessed only once throughout his countless years of existence.
Arthur’s pupils contracted as his consciousness spread through the trembling threads, and for the first time since his memories had returned, an unmistakable trace of shock appeared in his eyes.
"!!!!"
"!!!!"
"Resonance of Fate...?! How can this be?!!!!"
Arthur’s voice echoed through the deepest layer of his Soul, but the shock in his voice was nothing compared to the turmoil that had already begun spreading through his thoughts, because he knew exactly what the phenomenon before him meant, and the mere possibility of witnessing it again after so many years was enough to make even his usually composed mind tremble.
The countless golden threads surrounding him were shaking together, their movements spreading farther through the Web of Fate with every passing moment, and as Arthur watched them resonate with one another, his mind immediately recalled the last time he had witnessed such a phenomenon.
It had been so long ago that countless eras had passed since then, yet the memory remained deeply engraved within him, because the Resonance of Fate was not something that could simply appear because enough existences gathered together or because enough disturbances occurred within the Web.
His thoughts moved rapidly as he observed the countless threads vibrating together, and the more he examined them, the more certain he became that this was not a false alarm or some lesser phenomenon that merely resembled the Resonance of Fate.
The realization caused another wave of shock to pass through him, because he knew what would happen next.
Every Practitioner of ’Fate’ connected to the Web strongly enough to perceive this resonance would have their consciousness drawn toward the countless connections forming within it, and the mysteries of Fate that had remained hidden from them for countless years would become far easier to perceive.
Arthur’s gaze became complicated as he continued watching the phenomenon spread.
He was just going to find Ash.
Yet now, at the exact moment he was preparing to use the Rune of Fate to search for him, the Resonance of Fate had appeared.
The thought surfaced almost immediately, but Arthur did not dare to accept either possibility so easily, because the Resonance of Fate was far too profound to casually attribute its appearance to a single existence, and yet the timing was far too strange for him to completely dismiss the possibility either.
With that thought, Arthur temporarily put his search for Ash aside and allowed his consciousness to sink deeper into the Resonance of Fate, because whatever the reason behind its appearance was, an opportunity this rare was something he could not afford to waste.
The countless golden threads surrounding him became increasingly clear as his consciousness sank deeper into the resonance, revealing Insights that had previously remained oblivious to him.
...
...
...
Within the Resonance of Fate, Arthur’s consciousness remained completely immersed in the comprehension of Fate, and as the resonance continued to spread throughout the Web, his comprehension of the Rune of Fate, which had remained stagnant for countless years, finally began to rise.
86.001%.
86.013%.
86.027%.
The number continued climbing as the enlightenment deepened, while Arthur remained completely absorbed within the Resonance of Fate, his consciousness no longer concerned with the countless deviations of the future or his unanswered questions regarding Ash.
For now, all of that could wait.
This opportunity could not.
