Pocket Hunting Dimension Chapter 1322 - Feeling’s Cold At Heart

~3 minute read · 735 words

When Lu Ze and his companions materialized in the open, their brows instantly furrowed. A sharp light glinted in Lu Ze’s eyes as he spoke, “They have followed our trail.”

“Are they planning an ambush, or do they intend to use us as bait for those beasts?” one of the girls wondered aloud. The memory of the Ice and Fire Gemini’s treachery remained fresh in their minds. Surely, these two wouldn't resort to such underhanded tactics?

“What is the plan, Senior?” Alice inquired anxiously.

Lu Ze offered a faint smile. “Since they’ve gone to the trouble of tailing us, we shall simply wait for their arrival.”

Nangong Jing felt a surge of thrill. “Hehe, we just attained the cosmic lord state and have yet to gauge our true potential. This is the perfect opportunity to test our strength.”

Lu Ze chuckled, choosing not to object. He was just as eager to see exactly how powerful they had become.

Sensing that Lu Ze and his group had ceased their flight, both Berica and Shuo Yuan were momentarily taken aback. Berica’s mechanical ocular sensors flickered, and she remarked, “Hm? Do they realize there is no escape?”

Under normal circumstances, Berica would have dismissed the chase, knowing full well she couldn't catch them. However, the Barren Realm was governed by unique laws that made typical movement techniques far more taxing, and with the Barren Emperor awakening, these laws were in complete disarray. This chaos stifled spatial movement and intensified energy drain. She wasn't about to let potential treasures that had just reached the cosmic lord state slip through her fingers simply because she lacked the patience.

To Berica, this was an opportunity she couldn't ignore. Both she and Shuo Yuan were already peak cosmic lord states, and they were desperate for any scrap of insight that might lead them to the emperor realm.

As Berica and Shuo Yuan led a swarm of rampaging barren beasts toward them, Lu Li’s expression tightened. “It’s him?” The pressure Shuo Yuan had exerted on them previously was unforgettable. “He is indeed a peak cosmic lord state, and the individual beside him possesses similar strength.” She paused, eyeing the mechanical figure. “Could that be the Mechanical Queen herself, Berica Elro?”

They had barely emerged from their breakthrough only to be greeted by such formidable adversaries. Handling them would be a challenge, yet they had their own powerhouse—Ying Ying, who was also a peak cosmic lord state. Ying Ying looked directly at Shuo Yuan and noted, “That is a member of my own race.”

“A fellow race member? He belongs to the Star Spirit Race?” Lu Ze and the girls looked at each other in shock.

Nangong Jing was visibly startled. “Watcher Shuo Yuan? It’s truly him!”

“That explains why he told us we were qualified to enter the monarch ranking,” Lu Ze muttered, then turned to the child. “Ying Ying, since he is of your race, is there room for negotiation?” Ying Ying gave a slight nod. “I will attempt communication.”

Meanwhile, Berica issued a cold command: “Shuo Yuan, we attack at once and cripple them. We will take them alive and leave. We can split the secrets of how they mastered fake laws upon reaching the cosmic lord state.”

Shuo Yuan merely shrugged. “Do as you please.” He knew that when it came to a chance at reaching the emperor level, cooperation only lasted as long as interests aligned.

As they closed the distance, Berica hesitated, shocked by a sudden detection. “That Qi… there is a Star Spirit Race member among them?”

Shuo Yuan feigned his own surprise. “Oh? A fellow race member is present? I can’t interfere, then. Berica, you know the punishment awaiting me if my emperor discovers I helped the Mechanical Race assault one of our own. You are on your own.” With those words, Shuo Yuan instantly vanished, reappearing in the far distance.

Berica was stunned. “Shuo Yuan!” she bellowed in rage, but he was gone. She was now left to face a group that included a peak cosmic lord level Star Spirit. She dared not take them lightly. A one-versus-one match was risky enough, let alone facing multiple opponents. To make matters worse, the swarm of barren beasts saw Shuo Yuan depart and, ignoring him, continued to focus entirely on her, sending a chill through her mechanical heart.
