Director Ma enlisted Chen Yang's help to provide backup and medical support for Lisa's team, who were tracking members of the Five Poisons Cult at a local bar. Chen Yang joined Xiao Hu's team inside the bar and waited for the cultists to reveal themselves. When two men disguised as bartenders entered, Xiao Hu's team moved to apprehend them. One of the cultists attempted to stab Xiao Hu with a poisoned dagger.

"An ambush?!" Xiao Hu bellowed in rage, delivering a swift slap.

Bang.

Xiao Hu's power was immense, sending the bartender crashing to the floor with a single strike.

The dagger he'd held clattered noisily against the tiles.

"Seize him!"

Xiao Hu's command was followed by his two companions, who quickly restrained the downed bartender.

The other bartender, witnessing his associate's capture, bolted like a startled rabbit, attempting a swift escape.

"Don't let him get away."

Xiao Hu surged forward, intent on apprehending the fleeing man.

However, the throng of patrons milling about created a significant obstacle.

In that brief window of chaos, the escaped bartender clenched his fists, then suddenly opened them.

A haze of purple smoke erupted, and he promptly vanished within its confines.

Xiao Hu and his men were utterly blindsided by this unexpected maneuver.

It was completely unforeseen.

By the time the smoke cleared, the man had vanished without a trace.

"Where did he go?"

"He's gone, vanished into thin air."

Xiao Hu's brow furrowed deeply. Turning to check on Chen Yang, he discovered Chen Yang had also disappeared.

In truth, the moment the smoke had billowed, Chen Yang had already departed his position, giving chase.

...

Through the bar's rear exit, two figures burst forth in quick succession.

While the bartender’s cultivation was not particularly high, his speed when fleeing was astonishingly swift.

As he made his escape, he didn't hesitate to hurl hidden projectiles to impede Chen Yang.

A silver needle whistled through the air.

Chen Yang tilted his head, neutralizing the threat with casual ease!

"You think you can run? Is that even possible?"

Chen Yang suddenly surged forward, intensifying the pursuit.

Just as he was closing the distance, he keenly sensed danger from his flank.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.

Several more silver needles sliced through the air, aimed directly at his side.

One needle specifically blocked his forward momentum, compelling him to retreat and evade the incoming projectiles.

There was truly no alternative.

He temporarily ceased his pursuit, executed a backward somersault, and flawlessly dodged the barrage of silver needles.

"Who's there?"

Having perfectly evaded the attack, Chen Yang immediately scanned the direction from which the needles originated.

He glimpsed three shadowy figures melting away into the night.

They scaled the wall and disappeared.

It appeared these three figures were positioned as backup support.

Both the Secret Bureau and the Five Poisons Cult operated with meticulous caution, deploying three experts outside the bar to safeguard their subordinates.

"Chen Yang, where have they gone?"

Just then, Xiao Hu emerged from the bar as well.

"Members of the Five Poisons Cult were providing support; they fled in that direction," Chen Yang stated, gesturing towards the escape route of the three.

"Damn it, these scoundrels are truly cunning," Xiao Hu spat, his disappointment evident.

Undeterred, he retrieved a walkie-talkie and began relaying the situation.

He provided a full account of the events within the bar.

The Secret Bureau had anticipated potential trouble and had contingency plans in place nearby. Consequently, even though the Five Poisons Cult members had temporarily evaded detection, Secret Bureau operatives were converging on the area.

There was still a chance to apprehend them.

"Chen Yang, shall we split up to track them?" Having reported the incident, Xiao Hu proposed the idea to Chen Yang.

"Very well."

Chen Yang hadn't initially intended to continue the pursuit, but seeing Xiao Hu's unwavering determination, he agreed to press on.

Following their brief exchange, Xiao Hu immediately took the lead and departed.

Given their cultivation was only at the Qi Cultivation Realm, they naturally went after the lone bartender.

Chen Yang, on his own, took up the pursuit of the three ambushers.

He surmised they would likely head towards a secluded area after scaling the wall.

Therefore, after vaulting the wall himself, he followed a quiet path for his pursuit.

The trio’s strength was considerable; logically, their speed should have been swift, making a successful pursuit seem improbable.

But who could have predicted the outcome.

After chasing for a few hundred meters, he actually spotted the three individuals.

Clad in black, they were moving slowly through an alley roughly a hundred meters ahead.

Perhaps assuming Chen Yang wouldn't follow, their pace was unhurried.

Noticing the three men, Chen Yang instantly pushed his speed to its maximum, aiming to end the confrontation swiftly.

The trio possessed keen senses, and when Chen Yang was about twenty meters away, they abruptly detected the approaching threat.

"Oh no, he's right behind us!"

One of them exclaimed in alarm, quickly shifting to evade.

But it was too late; Chen Yang instantly appeared before them, raising his hand to deliver a punch.

The three individuals possessed only the strength of Peak Qi Cultivation and had not yet broken through to the Spirit Gathering Realm.

How could they possibly be a match for Chen Yang?

Even when united, the trio found it incredibly difficult to withstand the sheer might of Chen Yang’s single punch.

Boom!

Spiritual Energy erupted outwards, sending the three tumbling to the ground!

"Ah!"

"Pfft!"

The central figure could not endure the potent impact, instantly spitting blood as a direct result of Chen Yang’s punch, and collapsed onto the ground.

The two flanking him were forced into a continuous retreat, only managing to stabilize themselves after colliding with the alley wall.

"You... are so powerful."

One of them stammered, his eyes wide with disbelief.

Chen Yang calmly responded, "This entire area is swarming with our people; escaping today is impossible for you."

The three exchanged startled glances, seemingly in a silent discussion.

Chen Yang harbored no intention of killing them; capturing them alive was of paramount importance.

Chittering...

Suddenly, the man still lying on the ground began to convulse violently, emitting unsettling sounds of joints shifting and grinding.

Subsequently, countless venomous black spiders emerged from beneath him.

Within mere moments, the entire alley appeared to be coated in a carpet of black spiders.

Chen Yang's brow furrowed.

It wasn't that these black spiders posed an insurmountable threat, but rather the sheer novelty of such a bizarre display caused him a flicker of astonishment.

How could such a regular-sized human body possibly conceal such a multitude of venomous arachnids?

The Five Poisons Cult truly lives up to its sinister reputation.

"What is the use of your strength? Before us, you are merely slightly more substantial sustenance."

The fallen man, blood still trickling from his lips, pushed himself up from the ground, a wicked grin stretching across his face.

While he unleashed the horde of poisonous spiders, the other two behind him swiftly began weaving mysterious hand seals, circulating Spiritual Energy.

A short while later, the entire alley became engulfed in black Spiritual Energy.

Simultaneously, a cloud of purple smoke billowed from their bodies, transforming the confined space into a toxic domain.

Unfamiliar with the tactics of the Five Poisons Cult, Chen Yang had not anticipated such a devious ploy.

Caught momentarily off guard, he inadvertently inhaled a lungful of the purple smoke.

Witnessing Chen Yang inhale the noxious fumes, the trio erupted in laughter.

"Haha, you've breathed in our Bewitching Smoke; how could you possibly stand against us now?"

Chen Yang's frown deepened.

He could distinctly feel his own Spiritual Energy weakening after inhaling the pervasive purple haze.

The Five Poisons Cult certainly earns its name.

They are consistently capable of deploying strange and unexpected maneuvers, luring unsuspecting victims into their insidious traps.

"Attack him together; bring him down."

Despite sustaining injuries from Chen Yang’s earlier blow, the three felt emboldened at this moment, resolving to combine their efforts to subdue him.

"Alright."

The remaining two readily agreed, immediately channeling their Spiritual Energy to launch an assault on Chen Yang.

The one who had initially fallen remained stationary, employing intricate hand gestures to command the spiders on the ground, attempting to swarm Chen Yang like an unstoppable tide.

One of them furiously expelled a dense black poisonous mist, enveloping Chen Yang within its suffocating shroud.

The final assailant took on the role of the primary offensive force.

As his Spiritual Energy surged, his once pale hands abruptly transformed into an inky, jet-black hue.

Completely saturated with poison.

Even a casual touch from an ordinary person would likely result in instant death.

"Five Poisons Palm!"

The man roared, his blackened palm suddenly lunging towards Chen Yang.

His late-stage Qi Cultivation prowess, combined with the potent poison coating his palm.

A typical cultivator at the Spirit Gathering Realm would undoubtedly be unable to withstand such an attack, facing a swift and unexpected demise.

However, their misfortune was that they had encountered Chen Yang.

"What a collection of monstrous freaks,"

Chen Yang muttered, simultaneously circulating his own Spiritual Energy.

A cerulean seal materialized in his hand, meeting the incoming strike head-on.

Bang!

The two palms collided, unleashing a powerful shockwave.
