Chen Yang successfully dispelled the fears of the local doctors and Mayor regarding the epidemic. Dr. Wang and his associate doctors left in embarrassment. Chen Yang then met with Ma Jiantao to discuss the Five Poisons Cult's unusual lack of activity. Ma Jiantao planned to wait a few more days before withdrawing his team if no further incidents occurred. Chen Yang returned to his village and, encountering Wang Hong, advised her to spread a cautionary message throughout the village.

Wang Hong swayed her voluptuous figure as she departed.

In the afternoon, finding himself with nothing to occupy his time, Chen Yang paid another visit to the Green Cloud Taoist Temple.

The Green Cloud Taoist Temple was now a hive of activity, housing nearly a hundred individuals within its courtyards, including members of the Chou Alliance.

Taoist Liu had recently taken in a considerable number of new disciples.

Among these newcomers were several cultivators possessing rather promising talent.

With such a large influx of disciples, Taoist Liu found himself no longer needing to venture out daily.

He now dedicated his days to attending to the temple's business, offering guidance and fortune-telling services to visiting pilgrims, thereby amassing a significant amount of wealth.

Come nighttime, he focused on instructing his newly recruited disciples, nurturing their cultivation abilities.

His schedule was exceptionally demanding.

Chen Yang arrived at the Green Cloud Taoist Temple with the intention of conversing with Taoist Liu and subsequently meeting with Chen Tianmin to get updated on recent events.

After more than ten days of recovery, the majority of the Chou Alliance members had regained their health.

Having established themselves, they were now beginning to contemplate strategies for expanding and developing the Chou Alliance.

"Uncle, what are your intentions for the path ahead?" Chen Yang inquired, seeking Chen Tianmin's thoughts on resource acquisition.

"Old Qiu and I have been discussing this matter recently, but we haven't yet devised any concrete strategies. For the time being, we are considering subsisting off the land," Chen Tianmin responded.

Chen Yang did not fully grasp the implication of his words.

He Xiran, with a chuckle, offered clarification: "Uncle means we should search for valuable items within the mountains to sell, thereby obtaining some cultivation resources to cover our immediate needs."

With He Xiran's explanation, Chen Yang's understanding became clear.

"The mountains are abundant with various herbs, and I surmise that deeper within lie numerous spiritual beasts; we can certainly depend on these for sustenance in the interim," Chen Yang affirmed, concurring with Chen Tianmin's plan.

"Indeed, for the present moment, this is the only viable course of action; we will reassess once this period has passed," Chen Tianmin stated, acknowledging it as his sole feasible option.

"By the way, Yang Zi, the villagers mentioned today that an outbreak has occurred in the nearby Linghe Village; have you investigated it?" After their discussion on developmental matters, Chen Tianmin abruptly changed the subject and asked.

"I have already visited to investigate."

"What is the current situation?" Chen Tianmin appeared deeply concerned about the matter.

Chen Yang provided a candid account of the unfolding situation.

Hearing the details of the outbreak, Chen Tianmin's brow furrowed in deep concentration.

It seemed he possessed some knowledge regarding the incident.

"Uncle, what is transpiring?" Chen Yang perceived an unusual undercurrent and inquired further.

"Chen Yang, outbreaks might have been considered a common occurrence twenty or thirty years ago, but in this era, if they are still happening, have you considered alternative explanations?" Chen Tianmin gazed at Chen Yang, posing the question.

Upon hearing this, Chen Yang immediately sensed that Chen Tianmin was privy to some information.

"I have, of course, contemplated other possibilities; the secret bureau is already undertaking an investigation and has uncovered some initial leads."

"The secret bureau has become involved in the investigation?" Chen Tianmin expressed a degree of surprise.

"Yes." Chen Yang nodded and added, "They currently suspect a potential connection between the outbreak and an organization known as the Five Poisons Cult, although definitive proof is still lacking."

"Five Poisons Cult."

Chen Tianmin softly repeated the name, "So, it is they."

"Uncle, do you have knowledge of the Five Poisons Cult?" Chen Yang queried.

Chen Tianmin appeared lost in recollection for a few moments before looking back at Chen Yang and nodding, "I have heard whispers concerning the Five Poisons Cult."

"This faction specializes in the arts of poison cultivation, utilizing toxic concoctions to enhance their own cultivation base, a rather peculiar practice."

Chen Yang, having already gained some insight into the Five Poisons Cult from Ma Jiantao, was not particularly taken aback by Chen Tianmin's explanation.
