Ten plates of crayfish, even though they were delicious, An Baobei still didn’t finish them; she only ate six plates.
For the remaining four plates, An Baobei asked Ning Zihan, "Aren’t you going to eat? I haven’t seen you eat any."
"I usually don’t eat anything at night after dinner." He paused and chuckled, "If you peel them for me, even if they were poison, I would eat them."
An Baobei immediately rolled her eyes at him, annoyed, "You just want me to peel them for you!" Saying that, she actually started peeling them for him, "Considering you’ve peeled so many for me, I’ll peel one plate for you."
And Ning Zihan really only ate the plate An Baobei peeled for him.
With three plates left, An Baobei didn’t want to peel anymore for Ning Zihan, and Ning Zihan didn’t want to eat anymore either, so they gave them to the Su Family’s servants who were working the night shift.
"Are you going back, or staying over?" An Baobei asked Ning Zihan as they walked out of the dining room.
Ning Zihan replied casually, "If you want me to go back, I’ll go back; if you want me to stay, I’ll stay."
An Baobei cast a sideways glance at him, "Since when do you listen to me like this?"
"It’s not about listening to you; I just don’t want you to be unhappy because of me staying."
An Baobei snorted arrogantly and said, "You’ve come all this way, so stay over, otherwise it would be hard for me to explain to Second Aunt tomorrow."
"Okay."
"The room you stay in is tidied up every day, you can just move in, I’m not bothering with you, I’m going up to sleep." She really wanted to sleep now.
But Ning Zihan pulled her back, "If you ever feel like eating something, just call me."
"I won’t call you! I’ll just post on Weibo!" An Baobei pulled her hand back and went upstairs rudely.
Sounding so childish, Ning Zihan chuckled softly and also went upstairs. It was already two thirty in the morning; he needed to sleep too.
In the morning, Ning Zihan and An Baobei hadn’t gotten up yet because they slept late, but An Jing and the others had already learned from the servants that Ning Zihan came in the night.
Ning Wenxian said with a laugh, "My brother’s heart is now set on Baobei. I’ve lived with my brother for over twenty years and never saw him being attentive to anyone like this."
Su Chengyu marveled, "Wen Xian, your brother really likes Baobei, huh? He’s been chasing her for over half a year now, and his care for her keeps growing. I used to think he really disliked all women, but now it seems he just hadn’t fallen in love."
An Jing smiled, "You seem to be not objecting anymore, aren’t you?"
Su Chengyu replied, "As long as my brother-in-law treats Baobei well, of course, I won’t object to him and Baobei. But, sister-in-law, my opinion doesn’t really matter. It’s all up to Baobei. Even if we all agree, if Baobei disagrees, it’s all for nothing."
An Jing nodded in agreement.
When everyone had finished breakfast, Ning Zihan came downstairs, but he didn’t have breakfast. Instead, he greeted Su Haoyu and the others, mentioned he had business at the company, and hurriedly left the Su Family, returning to E City.
An Baobei woke up at ten in the morning, and as soon as she came downstairs, Ning Wenxian informed her, "Baobei, my brother had business at the company, so he left in the morning. He asked me to tell you."
"Oh." An Baobei responded briefly, feeling a bit disappointed. She had hoped to see him, but he had left early in the morning.
Picking up on the disappointment in An Baobei’s tone, An Jing and Ning Wenxian exchanged a smile, seemingly understanding An Baobei’s feelings.
An Baobei, feeling embarrassed by their gaze, protested, "Why are you looking at me like that?!"
