Unable to sleep, An Baobei craved crayfish and posted about it on Weibo. Late that night, Ning Zihan surprised her by showing up at her house with a large quantity of spicy crayfish. While An Baobei happily ate, she acknowledged that Ning Zihan had generally been good to her, except for past hurts.

An Baobei didn’t notice that Ning Zihan’s eyes darkened slightly. She just continued, "Did you see my Weibo post? Otherwise, how would you know I wanted to eat crayfish."

Ning Zihan replied lightly, "Yeah."

"You can’t have flown over from E City, right?" An Baobei asked while savoring the food.

"Yeah."

"Really?!" An Baobei was quite surprised. Then, she pouted, "You didn’t have to do that."

"I didn’t think too much about it, just saw that you wanted crayfish, so I came over."

An Baobei pouted again and asked, "Did you buy these crayfish in E City or S City?"

"S City." After a pause, he explained in detail, "As soon as I left, I called a crayfish store in S City, had them prepare it and deliver it to the airport, so I could bring it directly from the airport after landing."

An Baobei pouted for the third time, "Then you might as well have the store deliver them to me directly, saving you the trip."

His eyes were bright, "I wanted to come see you anyway, just had the opportunity."

An Baobei paused her crayfish-eating, then continued as if nothing happened, "When you called the store, weren’t they closed? Did they still make it for you?"

"It just costs a bit more, and they wouldn’t mind."

"How much more?"

"This much, a hundred thousand."

An Baobei stared at the ten plates of crayfish on the table in disbelief, calculating that each plate cost ten thousand. She exclaimed, "You really know how to burn money."

"It’s just a little money to me." After a pause, he added, "I’m willing to spend any amount on you."

An Baobei’s heart beat faster, but she scoffed indifferently, "You’re really getting better at sweet-talking. I didn’t notice before."

Ning Zihan didn’t reply. He didn’t think he was sweet-talking; he was just being honest. But arguing about this with An Baobei seemed pointless, so he stayed silent.

Not hearing from Ning Zihan, An Baobei finally glanced at him as she ate her crayfish. Seeing him still peeling crayfish for her, she remained silent, focusing on eating.

This crayfish is really delicious.

Ning Zihan peeled another plate, placed it in front of An Baobei, took off one glove, poured her a glass of water, and then asked, "Why are you still up so late?"

An Baobei casually replied, "You’re not asleep either."

Ning Zihan kept silent.

After taking a sip of water, An Baobei said faintly, "I was planning to sleep, but then I started playing on my phone. I saw someone post about eating crayfish, and suddenly I craved it."

Ning Zihan immediately caught on and asked, "How come you can’t sleep? Something on your mind?"

An Baobei snorted, "What could be on my mind?"

"Not because of me, right?" Without waiting for her answer, he added, "I hope it is because of me."

"Not because of you!" she lied.

He just laughed.

Fine, laugh if you want, but why are you staring at me? An Baobei got annoyed, "What are you laughing at?"

"Nothing." Ning Zihan shook his head while putting on the glove, peeling more crayfish for An Baobei.

Seeing him like this, An Baobei got a bit upset, feeling like Ning Zihan had seen through her, so she channeled her annoyance into eating the crayfish faster. The delicious taste of crayfish was irresistible; she’d never get bored eating them every day.
