Peaceful Farm Life Chapter 2209 - 2210: You’re the Boss at Home

Once Su Haoyu had finished giving his instructions to everyone, a chuckle escaped him as he remarked, "Your pregnancy is still in its early stages, and we don't even know how many little ones you're carrying yet. However, in about a month, you'll likely have a clearer picture. I do hope there are as many as possible, especially since you mentioned you only wanted one child."
An Jing merely let out a laugh. The number of babies wasn't something she could control, and she didn't mind either way; her greatest hope was simply for the baby to be healthy.
She certainly didn't want another child burdened with health issues like her Yun Er. The experience of raising Yun Er had already brought her to tears countless times.
The entire family, including An Baobei and Su Chengyu, was ecstatic about An Jing's pregnancy. While they had always held concerns for An Jing, their attentiveness now amplified, bordering on worship.
Having experienced pregnancy before, An Jing was quite accustomed to receiving such special treatment.
Nevertheless, observing Su Haoyu diligently preparing the nursery and sketching plans for a backyard playground, An Jing couldn't resist voicing her thoughts to Su Changyi, "Honey, isn't Dad getting things ready a tad prematurely?"
Su Changyi responded with a gentle smile, "He's rarely this happy; just let him do it. Besides, it's beneficial for him to have something engaging to occupy his time, keeping him active for his health."
An Jing considered his words and found them agreeable, so she didn't press the matter further.
Just then, Su Chengyu returned, accompanied by a procession of people, each laden with large bundles.
"Hey, big brother, sister-in-law," Su Chengyu greeted them with a broad smile.
An Jing returned his smile and asked, "What's with all the acquisitions?"
"They're clothes for the baby growing inside you; I wasn't sure if it was a boy or a girl, so I bought items for both possibilities."
An Jing couldn't help but laugh, "You've really started preparing quite early; I'm not even a full month along yet."
"Leaving them here is no problem at all; I simply liked these clothes now. If I happen to spot other appealing items later, I'll acquire those too."
An Jing felt a mix of amusement and deep gratitude, commenting, "Fortunately, this house is rather spacious, otherwise you'd struggle to find storage space for all these things."
Su Changyi chimed in, "There are ample unoccupied rooms on the third floor; you can simply store them there."
An Jing's amusement only deepened at this suggestion.
Su Chengyu then directed the housekeeper to assist in transporting the purchased items to the third floor.
The Su Family's residence was expansive, resembling a castle with several auxiliary buildings supplementing the main dwelling. Some of these structures housed the servants, while others remained vacant. Should the third floor prove insufficient, the annexes offered additional storage solutions.
Settling onto the sofa, Su Chengyu reached for an apple from the fruit bowl, beginning to munch on it. "I just spoke with Baobei," he mumbled around his mouthful, "and it seems she's also out shopping for baby items. No clue what she picked up."
"You all..." An Jing found herself at a loss for words, overwhelmed by the sheer volume of purchased goods.
Su Chengyu flashed another grin. "Sister-in-law, you absolutely must heed your elder brother's advice: do absolutely nothing except focus on your well-being. You are the supreme authority in this household now. Even though my brother held the title, he always defers to you, making you the true head of this family."
An Jing simply felt a wave of amusement wash over her.
Shortly after, An Baobei returned, also trailed by a group carrying yet more packages. An Jing inquired about their contents and learned that An Baobei had been acquiring toys for the expected infant.
Only after An Baobei had meticulously arranged the newly acquired toys did she join An Jing and the others in the living room.
"Mom, Dad, do you have a preference for a boy or a girl?" An Baobei asked, while contentedly chewing on a piece of sugar cane.
Faced with the question again, An Jing offered no direct answer, instead exchanging a knowing, smiling glance with Su Changyi.
