An Baobei chuckled, rapidly typing a response: "Are you implying I should be cautious of you?"

Ning Zihan's reply was direct: "Mm."

"Very well, I shall share less about my affairs from now on, and if I do, I'll weave in falsehoods, haha."

"...You truly are an oddity."

"I'm retiring for the night." With that, Ning Zihan put his phone down in earnest and drifted off to sleep.

An Baobei was momentarily dumbfounded, then found the situation humorous. This exchange, she mused, was considerably better than prior ones. Previously, 'One Person' would offer silence, not even a response. This time, at least he'd communicated before disconnecting, freeing her from the uncertainty of when he'd log off.

As it wasn't yet ten in the evening, An Baobei resolved to watch a movie before slumber.

While An Baobei was engrossed in a film in her room, elsewhere, Su Changyi was anxiously rapping on the bathroom door.

"Jing Er, what troubles you, Jing Er? How long have you been occupied in there?" Su Changyi's concern was palpable; he worried something might have befallen An Jing, given her prolonged absence from view.

From within the bathroom, An Jing hastily responded upon hearing Su Changyi's voice, "I am well, please do not fret."

With that declaration, she opened the bathroom door, concealing an object behind her back. She then looked up with a playful grin at him standing in the doorway, inquiring, "Darling, can you venture a guess what I was just engaged in?"

An Jing kept both hands behind her, unmistakably concealing something. Su Changyi, however, found himself utterly unable to deduce her bathroom activity, prompting him to simply state, "I cannot guess; simply reveal it to me."

As he spoke, he drew her waist into his embrace.

An Jing let out a delighted peal of laughter before producing the pregnancy test from behind her back, triumphantly presenting, "Behold, two lines!"

Su Changyi's eyes sparkled with excitement. "You are with child?"

An Jing beamed, her smile radiant. "So I believe, yet I suspect this test may not possess the same accuracy as a medical examination. I intend to visit the hospital tomorrow for confirmation. Only when the hospital verifies my pregnancy will I fully accept it."

"Then I shall accompany you tomorrow."

"Mmhm." She paused briefly. "Let us refrain from informing Father just yet. We should await the hospital's definitive verification tomorrow before disclosing the news, to spare him potential disappointment."

"Mm."

The following day, An Jing and Su Changyi departed as usual. Su Haoyu assumed they were heading to their respective duties, but in truth, they were en route to the hospital. After the medical facility confirmed the pregnancy, they returned home bearing the diagnostic report.

Su Haoyu was leisurely tending to the garden's flora, having forgone a rendezvous with old companions. Spotting Su Changyi and An Jing's return, he inquired with bewilderment, "Why have you returned so soon?"

An Jing merely offered a gentle smile.

Su Changyi, without further ado, presented the diagnosis to Su Haoyu.

"What is this..." Su Haoyu murmured as he accepted the report and perused its contents. Upon reading that An Jing was pregnant, he began pacing joyfully several times, rendered temporarily speechless.

At length, a wide, ear-to-ear grin blooming on his face, he urged, "Yi Er, quickly assist Jing Jing back inside to rest. I am off to inform your maternal grandmother of this wonderful news; she would be even more elated than I to learn of Jing Jing's condition."

With that declaration, Su Haoyu promptly departed.

Two hours later, Su Haoyu reappeared and immediately questioned An Jing about her desired meal, offering seasoned advice on the necessary precautions during pregnancy with an air of experienced wisdom.

Both An Jing and Su Changyi, already well-informed on the requisite precautions, nonetheless listened with attentive expressions.
