The four Emperors remained connected through the Crystal screen as they discussed what they should do with the three captured family heads. The atmosphere was serious, and none of them looked willing to take the matter lightly after seeing the kind of hidden things the three families had prepared.
Queen Ophelia rested her hand against her chin and thought for a moment before speaking.
"Perhaps we should make them tell us about all the things they might have hidden."
Her suggestion made the other three Emperors fall silent for a moment. It was certainly possible that the three family heads still knew about many hidden forces and plans that had not yet been discovered.
"I object to this." Alderic spoke profoundly.
His expression became cold as he looked toward the others through the Crystal screen.
"I think we should finish them as soon as possible and kill the remnants. Who knows how many secret things they might have acted upon."
Aldren also nodded slightly. His expression remained serious as he agreed with Alderic.
"I also think the same."
Caelus then looked at Ophelia through the screen. He remained silent for a moment before speaking.
"Killing them outright would solve the problem."
Ophelia frowned slightly but did not back down from her thought.
"But there might be buds left behind."
She knew that simply killing the three family heads did not guarantee that everything connected to them would disappear. There could still be hidden forces, secret experiments or other things that the Empire had not discovered yet.
Caelus slowly shook his head.
"I don't think it would be easy to take those things out of their mouths. On top of that, the more time they are allowed to live, the more danger is posed to us."
His words made the others fall silent again. They all understood what he meant. Keeping the three alive might give them more information, but it would also give them more time to cause trouble or activate something that had been left behind.
After discussing the matter for some time, they finally decided to vote on the result.
The decision was soon made.
Three votes were in favour of killing the three family heads.
Only Ophelia voted against it.
Ophelia slowly sighed as she leaned back in her chair. A hint of resignation appeared in her eyes when she saw the final result.
"Then it seems the decision has already been made."
The other three Emperors remained silent, and the Crystal screens continued to glow quietly in the room.
"As for the cleanup, leave everything to Garron. Ethan has sent quite capable warriors. They will deal with the troubles and finish the job well." Caelus spoke as he looked at the others through the Crystal screen.
"We should also make sure that the remaining forces of the three families are properly searched. Their hidden bases, storage areas and research facilities should all be checked before anything is destroyed. We cannot afford to leave something dangerous behind."
Alderic nodded in agreement.
"Also, keep the captured members separated and question them about the hidden locations. Even if the three family heads are dealt with, their subordinates might know something useful."
The others nodded, accepting the suggestions before the conversation slowly shifted toward another matter.
Their expressions became more serious when they started talking about the unknown man who had appeared during the battle.
"I wonder how that unknown man is doing now." Alderic spoke, his brows slightly furrowed.
"Garron wasn't able to pry anything from Ethan. He has kept it secret for now." Alderic added after a moment.
Before he could ask further, he received another piece of information.
"Ethan had gone somewhere with Saintess Henna."
Aldren frowned deeply when he heard that.
"Isn't that troublesome?"
He leaned closer toward the Crystal screen as his expression became stern.
"The identity of that human should be our priority. Ethan can't keep things from us."
As Emperors responsible for safety and peace, we have every right to know about it." Saying this, he looked toward Ophelia, followed by the others.
"Why are you all looking at me like that?" Ophelia asked, raising her brows as she noticed everyone's gaze falling on her.
"Ethan comes under your jurisdiction. If we question him directly, it would be bad, so I think you should take this job." Alderic suggested.
Ophelia's expression became slightly helpless as she looked at him.
"Also, out of all of us, he has a very good relationship with you." Caelus nudged.
Aldren's brows furrowed deeply.
He didn't mean it that way.
He wanted Ethan to be held accountable, not just questioned. The unknown man's identity was too important, and if Ethan was hiding something that could affect the safety of the Empire, they could not simply ignore it.
Queen Ophelia noticed everyone's expressions and understood what they were thinking. She let out a small sigh before nodding.
"Okay... I will proceed to question him and relay you the news."
The other three Emperors nodded, and the discussion finally settled on their next course of action.
...…
While the Emperors were busy with their discussion, Ethan, accompanied by the others, had already used the teleportation formation to reach Blanks. From there, they took another teleportation formation that would take them directly to Frostvele.
The journey was quite peaceful, and on the way, Ethan and Gu Cheng talked quite a bit. Gu Cheng was a bit surprised to see that Ethan knew quite a bit about cultivation. He didn't know why, but Ethan seemed to be familiar with many things that he shouldn't have known about.
At one point, Gu Cheng even wondered if Ethan was a cultivator himself.
But after observing him carefully, he knew that wasn't the case.
Gu Cheng wanted to ask about it, but he was a bit afraid that asking too many questions might make their relationship sour. Since Ethan had saved him from being trapped as a puppet, he didn't want to make things awkward between them.
After reaching Frostvele, Gu Cheng stepped out of the teleportation formation and stared at the huge mountains in the distance. The rocky peaks stretched across the land, and the familiar sight made his expression change slightly.
He found it somewhat familiar.
Ethan noticed Gu Cheng staring at the mountains and asked, "Are you seeing it without your divine sense?"
Gu Cheng wasn't surprised by this question. He simply nodded before answering
