Path To Godhood Begins With Marrying Wife And Gaining SSS Rank Skill Chapter 774:The Internals Or Halcrest

The situation inside the Halcrest Family was far from peaceful.
While the outside world was busy discussing the fall of Arcadia and the division of its territory, the Halcrest Family was facing a crisis of its own.
The Halcrest Family carried a special bloodline that granted them the power of healing magic. There had been rumours for generations that they were descendants of the Goddess of Nature. Their blood carried a special power that allowed them to cast healing magic even without receiving the blessings of Light.
Because of this ability, the Halcrest Family had built a huge influence throughout Arcadia. They had also extended their influence into other Empires, although they usually operated in small batches so that they would not attract too much attention. Their healers were welcomed almost everywhere, and many powerful families had dealings with them.
But saying that the Halcrest Family was peaceful was very far from the truth.
Inside the family, people were divided according to their bloodline.
There were the low class, the middle class and the high class.
The High Class of Halcrest were the ones who currently ruled the clan. They controlled the important positions, managed the family's resources and decided how the branches should operate. The Elder Association was also mostly made up of people from the High Class.
If someone from a lower branch was born with an unusually powerful bloodline, they could be transferred to the Upper Family. If they continued to show enough potential, they could even join the Elder Association.
On the surface, this looked like a system based on talent.
In reality, it was not that simple.
Bloodline decided almost everything.
A child born into the High Class could make mistakes and still receive protection. A child from a lower branch could work hard for years and still be treated as inferior.
And when someone from a lower branch showed enough talent to attract attention, they were not always treated kindly.
In one of the inner courtyards of the Halcrest Family, several young members stood beside a training ground.
A young man from a lower branch was kneeling on the ground.
His clothes were covered in dirt, and one side of his face was swollen.
He had clearly been beaten.
A young man wearing the clothes of the High Class stood in front of him with several others behind him.
"You really think you deserve to use the training ground?"
The young man on the ground lowered his head.
"I only wanted to practice my healing magic."
"Practice?" The High Class youth snorted and kicked the dirt beside him.
"You should be grateful that we even allow people like you to stay inside the main family."
The young man clenched his fists but did not answer. Another person standing behind the High Class youth laughed.
"Look at him. He is still trying to act proud."
"He was born in a lower branch. He should know his place."
The young man slowly raised his head.
"I have done nothing wrong."
His voice was quiet, but there was anger hidden inside it.
The High Class youth's expression immediately became cold.
"You are talking back?"
He stepped forward and grabbed the young man's collar.
"Do you think having some talent gives you the right to speak to me like that?"
The young man struggled slightly.
"I only said that I did nothing wrong."
"Then learn your place."
The High Class youth shoved him back onto the ground.
Several people nearby watched the scene but did nothing.
Some looked away.
Others simply pretended that they had not seen anything.
This was normal inside the Halcrest Family.
The lower branches had learned long ago that complaining would only make things worse.
The young man on the ground slowly wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.
His eyes were filled with anger, but he kept his head lowered.
He knew that the person standing before him had a much stronger family background.
Even if he had greater talent, it did not matter right now.
His birth decided his position.
"Remember this. Your bloodline may be useful, but you are still a member of a lower branch."
He turned around and walked away with the others.
The young man remained kneeling on the ground.
His hands slowly tightened into fists.
He looked toward the sky with a bitter expression.
He had grown up hearing that the Halcrest Family was one of the greatest healing families in the world.
He had believed that talent and hard work would eventually allow him to rise.
But after living here for years, he understood.
He lowered his head again, and his shoulders trembled slightly from anger.
A few moments later, some people who had been watching finally came over.
One of them looked around nervously before speaking.
"James, don't offend them."
Another person quickly nodded.
"Yeah. Just leave this place for now. There is no point in fighting with them."
"You know what they are like. If you keep resisting them, they will only make things harder for you."
James gritted his teeth and looked in the direction where the High Class youth had left.
He wanted to say something, but in the end, he remained silent.
He slowly got back on his feet and dusted off his clothes.
"I know."
His voice was low.
The others exchanged glances before leaving.
James stood there for a moment and then walked away toward his quarters.
His steps were heavy, and his mind was still filled with anger.
However, while walking through the corridor, he suddenly paused.
There was an unfamiliar figure standing ahead of him.
The man was dressed simply, and a faint smile appeared on his face when he saw James.
"Sir James, there is a message from you."
James looked at him with confusion.
"Message... From whom?"
"Miss Mira!" the man spoke.
James's eyes widened when he heard the name.
"Mira?"
Mira was like a sister to him. He had helped her escape from the family before, and after that, they had regularly shared letters.
However, all the letters had to go through the main family. This was the first time a stranger had contacted him directly.
James looked at the man carefully, and a hint of suspicion appeared in his eyes.
The man noticed his expression but did not say anything. Instead, he took out a letter and held it toward James.
"I was sent by Miss Mira to give you this and ensure you read it. I know you have doubts, but after reading this, you will know the rest."
James hesitated for a moment before taking the letter.
He looked at the envelope carefully and then slowly opened it.
His eyes moved across the words as he began to read.
At first, his expression was calm.
But as he continued reading, his eyes slowly widened.
His breathing became heavier, and his fingers tightened around the letter.
The more he read, the more shocked he became.
His heart skipped a beat when he reached the end.
'No, this can't be. It's beyond what I can comprehend and do... Is someone laying a trap for me?'
He muttered inwardly while staring at the letter.
The man standing before him simply watched him with a small smile.
After giving James a moment to process what he had read, the man reached into his clothes and took out a small glass orb.
He held it out toward James.
"You can use this to contact Miss Mira. She will dictate further."
