The Arcadian army advances into a desolate war-torn region. Ethan senses an ominous presence that others cannot perceive. He and Maverick investigate and discover a horrific battlefield filled with corpses and a spreading Miasma, leading Ethan to suspect a powerful, unseen enemy is involved.

He quietly muttered to himself.

"They would need an entire army of Priests just to purify the battlefield."

A thoughtful expression appeared on his face.

"But the real question is..."

"Would the Churches even get involved?"

Ethan slowly shook his head.

The answer was unlikely.

The Churches had always maintained a neutral position.

The rise and fall of Empires had nothing to do with them. They rarely interfered in political wars unless the conflict grew so large that it threatened ordinary people or disturbed the balance of the entire continent.

As long as the war remained a struggle between nations, they would simply watch from the sidelines.

Only when disasters spread beyond control would they finally make a move.

That was why Ethan doubted the Churches had anything to do with what he was seeing now.

Instead another possibility quietly formed inside his mind.

His expression gradually became heavier.

'Who is it?'

'Which side made a deal with those devils?'

'Or...'

'Did another force simply enter the battlefield to muddy the waters?'

He remained silent for a long moment before another thought suddenly surfaced.

'On second thought...'

'It might be that group of bastards.'

'A war on this scale means countless people will die.'

'Countless corpses.'

'Countless souls.'

'That is exactly the kind of battlefield they love.'

His eyes narrowed.

'Maybe they entered this war simply to harvest everything for themselves.'

The more Ethan thought about it, the less comfortable he became.

Another possibility also appeared.

'The Emperor of Arcadia may have already noticed this.Instead of stopping it he might have simply treated it as another opportunity.'

Ethan quietly weighed every possibility inside his mind while comparing the advantages and disadvantages of each one.

Unfortunately none of them gave him a satisfying answer. After several moments, he finally let out a deep sigh.

"This whole thing is becoming more and more troublesome."

He waved his hand dismissively before looking toward Maverick.

"Let's go, Maverick."

"This place is really pissing me off."

Maverick nodded without asking any questions.

SWISH!

Space rippled gently.

A faint portal quietly opened before the two stepped inside, and the opening disappeared a moment later, leaving only the silent battlefield behind.

...

Meanwhile, far away inside the Allied Army Headquarters, a tense atmosphere filled the command tent. A massive map covered the central table while several commanders, generals, and nobles from the four Empires stood around it with gloomy expressions. Nobody spoke for several moments because the recent battles had dealt them one setback after another, and every report that arrived only seemed to bring more bad news.

Finally, one of the commanders broke the silence.

"Arcadia has become far more troublesome than we expected."

Another commander folded his arms and frowned.

"They were supposed to be on the defensive, but instead they pushed straight into our territory."

A general from Xylos slammed his fist onto the table.

"Those damned bastards ruined everything."

His face was filled with anger as he looked around the room.

"We didn't just lose soldiers."

"We lost a Transcendent Knight."

The moment those words were spoken, the entire chamber fell into a chilling silence.

Every person's expression stiffened.

Some lowered their heads while others silently clenched their fists.

Nobody dared to speak immediately because everyone understood the weight behind those words.

A Transcendent Knight was not an ordinary expert.Such people stood at the very peak of the continent.

Losing even one of them was enough to shake an entire Empire.

One elderly noble slowly exhaled.

"He was sent to assassinate Crown Prince Haster."

Another commander nodded with an ugly expression.

"And he never returned."

"We don't even know exactly what happened. We only know that he disappeared."

The atmosphere inside the tent became even heavier.Things had been going badly for the Allied Army one after another.

First came the Dungeon Breakouts, and those sudden disasters disrupted several battle plans while forcing them to divert troops again and again.

After that came the Dead Lands.

The countless corpses left behind on the battlefield suddenly began showing signs of corruption, and a strange dark force slowly spread across the land.

The discovery immediately alarmed everyone. They searched everywhere for the one responsible. They investigated every battlefield.

They even sent scouts deep into the surrounding regions yet they found absolutely nothing.

Not even a single clue.

One commander rubbed his forehead tiredly.

"We even requested help from the Church."

Another man bitterly smiled.

"And they rejected us.They said they would not interfere until the war ends. They refuse to break their neutrality."

Several people cursed under their breath.

If the Church had stepped in, the corrupted battlefield could have been purified much faster.

Unfortunately, nobody could force the Church to act.

As if those troubles were not enough, another report arrived only a few days later.

The Arcadian army had successfully broken through the Xylos encirclement despite the heavy attacks waiting for them.

Not only had they survived...

They had actually managed to reach this region.

One commander slowly shook his head.

"Troublesome."

"Everything is becoming troublesome."

Another sighed deeply.

"It feels as though every plan we make falls apart before it can succeed."

The discussion continued for quite some time while everyone proposed different strategies.

Some suggested launching another large-scale attack.Others wanted to retreat temporarily and regroup.

Several commanders argued over supply lines.

Others discussed reinforcements and battlefield formations.

Yet no matter what they talked about, every conversation eventually returned to the same conclusion.

Arcadia was becoming increasingly difficult to deal with.

Just as another argument was about to begin, an old man quietly stepped forward.

He calmly took out a sealed letter.

"I have received a message."

Everyone immediately turned toward him.

"What is it?"

Several voices asked at once.

The old man slowly looked around before speaking.

"The Emperors are coming."

His words instantly drew everyone's attention.

"They have grown restless."

"They are no longer willing to wait behind the scenes."

"They will personally lead the battle once they arrive. They intend to finish this war themselves."

For a brief moment...

Nobody inside the command tent spoke.

Some looked relieved while thers became excited.

A few quietly exchanged uneasy glances.

Because everyone understood one simple truth.

Once the Emperors personally entered the battlefield this war would no longer remain an ordinary conflict between armies. It would become a battle capable of shaking the entire continent.
