Paragon Of Sin Chapter 1986 Chapter 1978: Inner Ascendant Battlefield
Previously on Paragon Of Sin...
A violent downpour of translucent spatial energy slammed into a white dais, which was intricately carved with cryptic mystic runes born from the fundamental laws of the Way of Mysticism: Spatial Rune. Within this surging torrent, illusory symbols flickered in a rhythmic dance, pulsing in harmony with the platform beneath. As the energy dissipated, a shimmering sphere was left behind, unveiling two individuals: one towering and the other small in stature.
Wei Wuyin and Tilly Winehart had finally reached their destination! The latter, however, was gasping for air, her expression one of utter shock. Her eyes remained fixed on Wei Wuyin’s profile, filled with a swirling mixture of reverence and bewilderment.
A mere five days had elapsed since their departure from the Chaos Realm of the Stellar Battlefield, far short of the anticipated two-week journey. After four days of their shared activities, Wei Wuyin had suddenly manifested a globe of concentrated, mystical profundity. Without a word of explanation, he merged the sphere into their protective spatial bubble. Suddenly, a wave of dizziness washed over Tilly as their speed accelerated beyond all logic.
"See," Wei Wuyin let out a hearty laugh, "It worked." Kratos had been complaining incessantly about being a mere passenger. Consequently, Wei Wuyin decided to experiment with hijacking the spatial shuttle. He reapplied the same modifications that had once altered the Transit Stellar Light years ago, shifting the prismatic glow into a shade of grey that mimicked annihilation.
Initially, he had been reluctant to circumvent the standard protocols for fear of attracting the gaze of any lurking Overseers or Moderators. However, he eventually concluded that Kratos’ agitation was simply a mirror of his own restlessness and boredom. While Tilly was a delightful partner, he simply could not tolerate the agonizingly slow pace of conventional transport.
He retrieved the Mystic Rune Sphere, a construct of six hundred billion illusory Mystic Runes, and drew it back into his frame. The runes dissolved into his body, circulating through his physique like precision tools enhancing every internal system. Having long ago achieved a state of perfection, he was now fully prepared for the Stellar-Paragon Physique to bridge the final gap into the domain of the Mystic Dao.
At the sight of the Mystic Rune Sphere, Tilly’s heart hammered against her ribs. Even though the runes were illusory, a primal craving surged from her Mystic Core. She felt a desperate impulse to pounce on it like a predator. Noticing her intense reaction, Wei Wuyin summoned the sphere once more with effortless grace. Tilly’s gaze became so fixated on the object that the rest of the world seemed to vanish from her sight.
Holding the globe in his palm, he presented it to the entranced Tilly, who looked dazed enough to drool. Eschewing any teasing, he spoke with a voice infused with Spiritual Strength: "You can touch it."
She offered no verbal response other than a faint, mindless grunt. Moving like a puppet, she reached out and brushed the sphere with her fingertips. Instantly, her eyes flared with an explosion of mystic light. The Mystic Runes within her own form responded, shining with such intensity that the glow permeated her very skin, bones, and organs. Having reached the Demi-Mortal Lord Phase, she possessed a Refined Physique—specifically the Worldbreaker War Physique, a High-World grade body forged by the Triumphant World Method of the Warring Soul, which had required 8,000 War Souls to acquire.
Despite her small frame, she wielded physical power capable of shattering worlds, which accounted for her incredible endurance. Without it, their recent activities would have left her exhausted long ago.
"Oh?" Wei Wuyin observed as Tilly’s form seemed to resonate with the Ways of Mysticism. The sensation reminded him of the time he watched Wu Yu break through to the Earthly Saint Phase. She was currently awakening her Mystic Intent!
"OH! OH! OH! Do that! Hurry! Hurry!!" Ori suddenly manifested, shouting for Wei Wuyin to move. Seeing the crushing pressure and overbearing aura beginning to weigh down on Tilly, he recognized that she could not complete such a profound enlightenment in this location. It was strictly against the rules.
"Only because this should help her," Wei Wuyin remarked as he withdrew the Mystic Rune Sphere and pressed his finger to Tilly’s forehead. Enveloping her in Void Energy, he gave a gentle tug and pulled her into his Primordial Expanse.
Once inside the Primordial Expanse, Tilly immediately summoned the Earthly Ascension Tribulation Gate! Even though it was an Internal World, Wei Wuyin’s connection to the Mystic Dao vibrated with power, defying the constraints of time and space to facilitate the Tribulation’s descent. However, the phenomenon seemed to pause, waiting for Wei Wuyin’s explicit consent.
It was a bizarre experience—a Great Dao requesting permission to manifest within his own body. It appeared that the theories held by Ori and King were accurate: the Primordial Expanse was a singular spatial realm, essentially a fragment of the Void that contained all existence.
"Incredible..." Wei Wuyin whispered. Shortly after, the sound of footsteps signaled the approach of two cultivators. Just as expected, they were an Entry Moderator and a Station Moderator. The first was responsible for processing arrivals into the Battlefields of Order or War, while the second handled the assignment of specific zones and locations.
Both individuals were humans.
Tilly had mentioned that Moderators came from various races, but humans remained the dominant demographic within this galactic cluster. Their talent for rapid expansion and breeding was unmatched, largely due to their unique biological compatibility that allowed them to interbreed with almost any other race. They were, in essence, universal breeders.
The state of the Neo-Dawn Starfield before Tiangou destroyed it served as proof of this trait. Figures like Da Shan, Nyla Shur, and Lian Yu all carried bloodlines from diverse origins.
These two Moderators possessed cultivation bases at the Heavenly Saint Phase and the Ascended Saint Phase.
Although Tilly had originally agreed to serve as his Entry Moderator, her sudden enlightenment triggered by his Mystic Rune Sphere had forced a change in plans. Wei Wuyin was issued his Identity Rune, a device capable of storing Ascendant-grade War Souls. Furthermore, his previous Stellar Identity Rune was integrated into it, transferring his accumulated merits and War Souls to the new marker.
Once the process was finished, he was asked to choose his path: Order or War. Tilly had explained that while one could eventually enter both, a choice had to be made between the Inner and Outer Battlefields when serving as a Soldier or Commander. Since he was naturally classified as an Ascendant Soldier, he could start in either field and switch later upon seeking a promotion to Ascendant Commander.
He stood at a crossroads.
'Su Mei and the rest are certainly in the Outer Battlefield of War. However, I did give Magus my word that we would count on his abilities in the Battlefield of Order instead of relying on alchemy.' While he pondered whether to join the Ascendant Battlefield of Order as an Inner or Outer participant, Magus transmitted a silent thought: 'Bring them to the Galactic Battlefield!'
Wei Wuyin smiled at the message. It appeared that Magus was willing to set aside his pride and the desire to prove his own strength for the sake of Su Mei and the others. Since Magus was in agreement, Wei Wuyin chose to enter the Inner Ascendant Battlefield of Order as a soldier. The Moderators accepted his decision without much fuss. Seeing as the system recorded Wei Wuyin as a Soul of Mysticism Phase cultivator, they assumed he was simply choosing a quick death on that gruesome front.
The Entry Moderator escorted him away, a journey that took three hours. During the transit, Wei Wuyin was startled by a notification from his Identity Rune. Members of the Neo-Byr Legion had fallen! Checking their status through the rune, he saw they had already advanced into the Outer Battlefield of War.
Only six had died, marking their first casualties. He didn't need to intervene directly; he simply paid a fee in War Souls earned from his merits in the Battlefield of Order to have them resurrected for battle. While he could have performed Creationist tasks to bring them back, the current circumstances offered only one method. It seemed his minor assistance had made them overconfident and reckless.
Carelessness was undoubtedly the leading cause of death in such a place. He sent a spiritual message via the void to Wei Xiaotian and Yan Zhu, then put the matter out of his mind. He expected nothing less than for those two to aim for the pinnacle.
Lower 44th Zone.
In contrast to the Stellar Battlefield, the Ascendant Battlefield used a simple numerical naming system.
Upon arriving at the Inner Ascendant Battlefield, he observed Towers suspended in the air, each surrounded by Mystic Radiance Belts numbering from one to three. Most had three belts, while those with only one or two appeared to have been recently damaged or defeated in combat, their mysterious auras noticeably diminished.
When his own Globe of Creation manifested, barely a meter wide, it was encircled by an illusory Mystic Radiance Belt, making it look strikingly like a Solar Star.
He took a moment to stretch.
"It’s that time again—the perfect time to win a war." With a smirk, he began walking toward the defensive wall. The residents of the Inner Ascendant Battlefield had no idea that chaos was about to arrive!
