Overbearing Immortal Doctor Chapter 1323 - 1422: Testing the Target
Previously on Overbearing Immortal Doctor...
These disciples of the Xifu Sect were utterly convinced that Qin Feng had been heading their way. Now, these same individuals materialized precisely where Qin Feng had just passed. The Xifu Sect disciples, driven by furious animosity and the lure of substantial rewards, descended into a frenzy. The consequence of killing the wrong person was a trivial matter; a few more lives extinguished would hardly matter!
Meanwhile, locales like Ding Shan also became targets for assault. A vast disparity existed between the combatants. One man, caught in the fray, was unceremoniously knocked aside. However, his adversary offered no respite, relentlessly pursuing and cleaving him in two.
A person by the name of Ding Yun found himself locked in combat with another master from the Virtual Meta Country. Ding Yun, having only recently arrived in the Virtual Meta Country, was outmatched by the disciple of the West Rune Sect, who was already a Level 4 expert within the region. Ding Yun coughed up a mouthful of blood, sent reeling backward instantly, the overwhelming difference in power starkly evident.
"Die!"
Witnessing the dire situation, Ding Shan's eyes ignited with fiery rage, and he fearlessly thrust his weapon forward.
"A little too impatient, aren't we? Haha!" The disciple from the West Buddha Sect jeered, effortlessly swatting Ding Shan's sword aside with a casual wave of his hand.
"Damn it, don't kill that woman. These two lasses are quite delightful. The three of us can have a grand time!" From a distance, the second disciple of the Xifu Sect spoke with wicked intent, having just dispatched the middle-aged man with the severed arm. Shamelessly, he advanced towards another woman.
What are you doing? Stunned by this sudden turn of events, the woman stood frozen, unable to utter a coherent word. She couldn't fathom why the typically aloof Xiwen Sect would suddenly turn on them. To make matters worse, she was truly quite lovely.
"Tears!"
The woman's garment was savagely torn, exposing the pale skin beneath.
"Ah!" The woman's panicked and futile struggles only served to further incite the depraved attacker.
"Later, we'll switch, hahaha." A sword materialized in his hand at some point. He held the blade to Ding Shan's neck, completely dominating her. Simultaneously, the sword began to descend, unfastening the buttons on Ding Shan's chest and continuing its downward path.
"Bang!"
Abruptly, a powerful hand seized the sword's hilt. The hilt continued its descent, emitting a metallic clink. In that instant, a cold gleam of light flashed outward.
"Ah!"
A horn blared. The disciple from the West Law Sect, who was in the process of tearing Ding Shan's clothes, was impaled by a sword and then dispatched by a flying knife that emerged from an ancient tree behind. Ding Shan let out a terrified scream!
"I was merely passing through, and you dare to harbor such wicked intentions? Do you truly not understand the meaning of death?" Qin Feng's frigid voice finally echoed.
The third disciple of the Xifu Sect was so petrified he was rendered speechless. Before he could even react, Qin Feng, swift as lightning, overwhelmed him. Employing a pincer-like grip on his neck, he twisted, snapping the West Gate disciple's neck instantly.
In less than a moment, two seemingly formidable masters of the Origin Realm lay dead!
Following this, Qin Feng confronted the first disciple of the West Gate Sect. This opponent, struck by a single punch, was killed outright.
All of this transpired with astonishing speed, witnessed by the three survivors.
Out of an original group of five, two had already perished. Ding Yun, touted as the most powerful expert, bore three deep gashes, clinging to life by a thread. The two women had narrowly escaped utter humiliation.
Those who had moments before mocked Qin Feng now stared in stunned terror, afraid to even draw breath.
"Ding Shan, why did you intend to kill me?" Qin Feng inquired, looking towards Ding Shan.
"My father is dead, my mother is dead, it's all your fault, it's all your fault!" Ding Shan wailed, tears streaming anew.
"Ding Hao is dead?"
"You are that sword." Another woman spat through gritted teeth. "A few days ago, someone inquired about your background. Uncle told them everything he knew, but they killed Uncle and Aunt. They even burned down Uncle's pharmacy. Fortunately, Sister Ding Shan was visiting my home, otherwise, she would have suffered too. Our Ding family narrowly escaped. Don't you think we have reason to hate you?"
"I am truly sorry, I never anticipated this outcome." Qin Feng sighed.
Xie Xuan knew Qin Feng hailed from beyond the Canghong mountains, possessing no formidable backing. Qin Feng surmised that Xie Xuan must have interrogated Ding Hao, as he was the only one with even a rudimentary understanding of Qin Feng's identity. However, Qin Feng had not foreseen that Ding Hao would reveal everything, nor that Xie Xuan would still spare no mercy.
The newcomers were strangers. Sha Shiyi sought assistance from Ding Hao. Ding Hao did his utmost, but tragically, both he and his wife were slain. Their entire lives, their home, were reduced to ashes. This woman was forced to flee to the Canghong Mountain seeking refuge.
"I am profoundly sorry for what happened to your family." Qin Feng's apology was heartfelt.
A thought of the corpulent man resurfaced in his mind. This fellow had also been entangled with him, suffering repeated persecution from the Kang family. He had failed to protect his closest friend, much like how Ding Hao’s own family was currently being affected due to him. He hadn't protected Ding Hao’s family either.
"Wrong? Can uttering 'wrong' bring my parents back?" Ding Shan shrieked, her voice cracking.
"The other members of the Xi Men Sect are not far. A commotion will alert them. You should sprint away. Your best bet is to find a concealed sanctuary to hide," Qin Feng advised, turning to depart.
Indeed, the departed could not be revived by mere apologies.
Just like the corpulent man and Tiantian, they might have already passed from this world. Even if he secured vengeance for them, their return was impossible.
Qin Feng’s sorrow deepened with every passing moment.
"Lan Yueliang, no, she should be referred to as White Moon," Qin Feng mused aloud as he continued walking. "You are truly fortunate to possess your mystical Poison Book."
"Yes, yes, we shall depart immediately!" Ding Yun hastily bowed. With riches in hand, who wouldn't seek the comforts of a grand city for enjoyment?
The woman also bowed and declared, "Young Master Jian, take care. Let us depart. Haha!"
The pair departed in succession, leaving only Ding Shan to continue her bewildered daze.
"Let's go!" Ding Yun tugged at Ding Shan.
Ding Shan shuddered entirely, her gaze fixed on Qin Feng. Abruptly, she exclaimed, "Do not proceed that way. We just observed West Gate’s Second Elder, Zang Lu, along with several others in that direction. It appeared to be a fierce engagement."
"Oh?" Qin Feng’s attention immediately snapped towards the direction she indicated.
A battle?
He harbored no fear of confronting Zang Lu. Regardless of the battle's intensity, if Zang Lu had expended significant spiritual power, he should certainly join the fray. As for the relative strengths of Pei Hongqing and Xie Zhenshan, Ding Shan and the others would surely be aware. Since she hadn't mentioned them, it implied they were likely not in the immediate vicinity.
"Thank you for the heads-up!"
Qin Feng offered a smile and a nod. However, to Ding Shan’s astonishment, he surged forward in the very direction she had indicated.
"Boom..."
Zang Lu's figure had yet to manifest. The cacophony of shouts, the clash of combat, and the sounds of splintering trees and scattering rocks reverberated through the air.
Qin Feng advanced cautiously. Just then, he spotted several individuals from the Xi Men Sect retreating in haste towards him.
"What a mess you've made!" Qin Feng scoffed inwardly. He concealed himself behind a large tree. As the foremost individual drew within four meters of his hiding spot, Qin Feng erupted from his cover.
"Whoosh!"
The chilling sound of flesh being rent by a sharp blade echoed through the dense woods. The disciples of the West Rune Sect, caught completely unaware, were impaled by a blade before they could even react.
"That sword… the person responsible is up ahead. Kill him for me!" Upon witnessing Qin Feng after his preceding demise, Zang Lu’s visage contorted into an even more ferocious expression. He bellowed loudly. The individuals rushing ahead swiftly drew their weapons, their faces contorted with malice, and charged directly at Qin Feng.
Concurrently, Zang Lu's body erupted with spiritual energy. With a heavy thud of his foot upon the ground, he propelled himself directly towards Qin Feng.
Simultaneously, his whipping leg swept outwards, then furiously lashed out in Qin Feng’s direction.
