Odyssey of the Blind God Chapter 757 Fated Fight (4/10)

The imposing walls of the Divine Hall stood in a state of partial ruin.
In some sections, it was difficult to discern if a wall even remained intact. The same precarious state applied to the interior.
The fabric of space above and around was warped, presenting a drastically altered appearance compared to its original form. Fractures within space were visible throughout the entire Divine Domain.
Should anyone else from the Universe happen upon this grand palace, they would undoubtedly be rendered speechless.
While a monumental clash would surely be the expected scenario, the actual situation defied even the most extravagant imaginations.
Consequently, even if someone had harbored the desire to assist Nial in the ongoing battle, the insurmountable obstacle was 'how' they would achieve it.
Every participant in the Second Great War was a veritable powerhouse, counted among the mightiest in the Universe. Despite this, merely a handful possessed the capability to keep pace with the movements of Nial and the Advocate.
However, within this secluded arena, impenetrable to any external intervention, no witness existed for the cataclysmic confrontation between these two titans.
Another concussive blast echoed nearby, and the very ground continued to tremble from the sheer force of their simple exchanges.
'What course of action should I take?' Nial found himself in a precarious predicament.
He had unleashed the vast majority of his power, acutely aware of the necessity to vanquish the Advocate swiftly.
Yet, even at this moment, it seemed as though the Advocate was withholding her full strength. She effortlessly evaded his assaults, almost as if she possessed the foresight to perceive his intentions before he himself was aware of them.
Nial clenched his teeth, resolutely continuing to exert his utmost effort.
The Advocate, however, appeared utterly unfazed by his relentless onslaught.
Hours had passed in continuous combat between them, yet she exhibited no indications whatsoever of fatigue.
There were indeed a few fleeting moments where the Advocate displayed astonishment, or perhaps even shock, but these instances were fleeting. Her protective barrier remained fully operational.
Even so, it didn't give the impression that the Advocate was growing stronger as their conflict intensified. Rather, Nial felt as though he were battling an inexhaustible torrent. His opponent was unyielding, yet he struggled to land a solid blow.
His strikes either met empty air or had their trajectories ingeniously diverted. This was profoundly frustrating, but it was not a circumstance Nial could alter merely through annoyance.
'I am unable to breach her evasive maneuvers. A single, fully empowered strike is all I require to end this, but I cannot get close enough, let alone connect with her…'
Nial wasn't overly concerned about his stamina reserves. He was still performing adequately, possessing more than ample energy to expend. However, this did not entirely negate a degree of underlying worry.
'…I have but one final trump card remaining…'
Nial hesitated to consider employing Dominion at this juncture. To utilize his sole ultimate technique, Dominion's full potential amplified by Psy's accumulated power from centuries past, would result in a catastrophic disadvantage at the current moment.
He needed to seize an opportunity within this ceaseless struggle. From a long-term perspective, he had an abundance of time at his disposal. Nevertheless, he harbored uncertainty regarding how much longer he could sustain his Cursed Divinity in its fully unleashed state.
Moreover, he found himself within the Advocate's domain, a factor that significantly complicated matters. The ambient divine energy within the Divine Hall was exceedingly abundant, readily available for absorption by the Divine Goddess.
She replenished her expended divine energy with remarkable ease, drawing directly from the ambient aether.
Nial contemplated absorbing the surrounding divine energy as well, but the memory of his encounter with the Divine God of Truth immediately deterred him from attempting to utilize Devour and the Heart of Gluttony to convert divine energy into reinforced dark energy.
If successful, he would emerge significantly more potent than he currently was, regaining a portion of his former martial prowess. However, if the Goddess of the Divine Eye had laid a treacherous snare within her own domain, Nial risked finding himself in a far worse predicament.
It represented a high-risk proposition with minimal potential reward, something Nial would prefer to circumvent if at all possible. He possessed the capability to consume his own physical form and life force to generate darkness—a far more cost-effective method than tampering with the Advocate's resources.
As if taking deliberate steps to mock him, the Divine Goddess commenced the utilization of her own Divinity.
This was, in fact, the very first instance Nial could truly perceive her employing her Divinity. It was possible she had been passively wielding it all along to facilitate her evasive capabilities, though Nial had remained oblivious. Now, however, with her active deployment of Divinity, the battlefield underwent significant transformations.
The Divine Goddess's movements became unnaturally precise, and she initiated counterattacks even before Nial committed to his offensive actions. It was patently clear that she could anticipate his assaults preceding his own movements.
'Precognition? Clairvoyance? Or can she merely deduce my intentions from the subtle reactions of my musculature? What is the nature of this ability?'
Nial harbored a desire to comprehend the Divinity of the Divine Goddess, or more accurately, the unique abilities inherent in her eyes. Based on his personal encounters, Nial deduced that the golden eye represented a sophisticated upgrade to the silver eye. While the silver eye granted him the perception of mana circulation, allowing him to visualize all forms of energy within his field of vision.
The golden eye, conversely, offered insight into the innate potential of any individual, along with supplementary information that varied unpredictably. Nevertheless, Nial remained uncertain whether the Divine Goddess possessed identical capabilities or if her vision was subtly distinct.
Her Divinity ought to possess superior potency, especially considering its augmentation through divine energy.
The Advocate already held a strategic advantage; therefore, what was the purpose of employing her Divinity? Was such an action truly warranted? Did she intend to conclude the confrontation immediately?
Nial found himself uncertain. After all, the Advocate's combat methodology had not significantly deviated, save for a discernible increase in the acuity of her movements.
However, one particular thought gnawed at him.
'If she possesses my eyes… does that not imply they are entirely imperfect?!?'
