Grey negotiated with the Higher Realm's consciousness after it initially rejected him, eventually receiving immense energy. However, the consciousness and the Higher Realm then vanished, revealing that such an entity might not even exist. The Dao of Space and Finality confirmed this anomaly, suggesting a massive manipulation of reality or the entity's erasure. Grey found himself alone in an unfamiliar forest, separated from his companions, with no way to contact the Daos, indicating the strange occurrences were far from over.

Grey found himself standing in the middle of an ancient forest.

Towering trees stretched endlessly above him, their canopies blocking most of the golden light filtering down from somewhere far above. The trunks were impossibly thick, each one wider than entire buildings he had seen in the Mortal Realm.

But the trees themselves were not what caught his attention.

It was the energy.

The ambient power saturating every inch of this place far exceeded anything Grey had ever experienced. Even the air itself felt dense with laws and principles that seemed to have existed for countless eons.

He took a single step forward, and the grass beneath his feet released a faint pulse of spiritual energy.

Grey looked down with surprise.

“Even the grass is at the 10th Rank?”

He crouched and examined a single blade more closely. The seemingly ordinary plant contained compressed essence that would have been considered a rare treasure back in the Mortal Realm.

Grey stood back up and surveyed his surroundings with new appreciation.

Everything here was fundamentally different.

The spatial structure felt incomparably more stable than anything he had encountered before. The natural treasures growing casually along the forest floor would have caused wars between major factions in the 12th Plane.

Yet here they simply existed, completely unremarkable to whatever beings actually inhabited this realm.

Grey continued walking through the dense vegetation, his curiosity growing with every step.

Then something caught his eye.

Several extraordinarily beautiful flowers grew beside a massive tree root. Their petals glowed with a faint iridescent light, pulsing gently as if containing something alive within them.

Grey approached and knelt beside one of the flowers.

“What do we have here?”

He leaned closer, examining the glowing patterns within the petals. At first, the patterns seemed like simple luminescent markings, perhaps some kind of natural bioluminescence.

Then Grey’s eyes widened.

Those were not patterns they were actually universes.

Countless miniature universes swirled within the flower’s petals, each one complete with galaxies, stars, and celestial structures. The scale was incomprehensible, entire realities contained within something no larger than his palm.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing a Universe Floral Flower, you’ve gained insight into its usage.]

Grey stared at the notification for several seconds.

“What the heck.”

He looked back at the flower, then at the notification, then at the flower again.

“An alchemy ingredient?”

Grey’s expression became strange.

Something containing countless universes was apparently just an ingredient that could grow casually inside a forest. Back in the Mortal Realm, this single flower would have been enough to make any alchemist lose their minds.

Here it was growing like a common weed.

Grey shook his head and began collecting the flowers without hesitation.

“Well, if nobody’s going to claim them…”

He stored several dozen Universe Floral Flowers into his Lesser Heaven space, maintaining a completely casual demeanor despite knowing how absurdly valuable they were.

After finishing his impromptu harvest, Grey straightened and examined himself more carefully.

The suppression within the Higher Realm was immense.

It far exceeded even the suppression he had experienced within the 12th Plane of Existence. His power felt compressed, restricted, contained within boundaries that he had never encountered before.

Despite this, he could still move and function properly. His current strength was simply high enough to resist the suppression to a meaningful degree.

But the limitations were undeniable.

Grey raised his hand and estimated his current destructive capabilities under this suppression.

His expression twitched.

“I could probably flatten this forest at best.”

That was it.

The same power that could previously threaten entire dimensional planes was now reduced to leveling a single forest. The contrast was almost laughable.

Grey then attempted to spread his perception outward.

His consciousness expanded, reaching toward the edges of the forest.

Then it stopped.

Grey frowned and pushed harder.

His perception refused to extend beyond the forest’s boundaries.

“You’re kidding me.”

This was the same perception that could previously cover the Mortal portion of the Endless Reality. It had swept across countless universes, dimensional planes, and cosmic structures without difficulty.

Yet inside the Higher Realm, it could not even escape a single forest.

Grey clicked his tongue in annoyance.

“This place is ridiculous.”

He stood there for a moment, considering his options.

Then he remembered something important.

The Higher Realm’s consciousness had given him an enormous amount of energy shortly before it mysteriously disappeared. Grey still possessed that energy, completely untouched and waiting to be used.

This was the perfect opportunity.

Grey closed his eyes and assessed his current cultivation state.

He was now within the World Opening Realm, his internal universe having reached approximately 21 billion light-years in size. The peak of this Realm required his universe to expand to 512 billion light-years and beyond that was the 11th rank.

Grey had not yet properly researched the path toward the 11th Rank.

Before ascending, he believed it would take several years simply to reach the peak of World Opening Realm. He never expected that reaching the peak of his current Realm would happen this quickly.

The Energy From The Higher Realm’s Consciousness was refined too. Meaning it won’t cause inconsistencies or collapse the universe’s foundation due to instability like how it would be while just devouring other’s worlds.

This energy was enough to theoretically support his advancement toward the 13th Rank. The progression through these particular stages was relatively straightforward once the correct path had been established.

However, advancement beyond the 13th Rank would become substantially more difficult again.

For now, he could safely use part of the energy to push his already-established World Opening Realm to its absolute peak.

Grey took a deep breath.

“Alright.”

He began absorbing the Higher Realm’s energy.

Immediately, his internal universe responded.

Space stretched outward at an incomprehensible rate. The boundaries of his cosmos continuously receded as new regions of existence emerged from nothing.

50 billion light-years.

Galaxies multiplied across the expanding void. Enormous spiral structures formed, their arms stretching across distances. Stars ignited by the trillions, their light filling previously empty regions with warmth and energy.

Soon it crossed 100 billion light-years.

Worlds formed around countless newly born stars. Rocky planets, gas giants, oceanic worlds, and exotic celestial bodies materialized throughout Grey’s expanding universe. The diversity of creation was staggering.

Grey could feel his strength rising alongside each expansion.

300 billion light-years..

500 billion light-years.

He was approaching the limit.

Finally, 512 billion light-years.

Grey’s internal universe finally stopped expanding.

He opened his eyes with a satisfied expression.

The absolute peak of the World Opening Realm has been reached at last.
