Grey encounters Princess Lyris of the Celestial Covenant in the dangerous Chaos Realm. Despite initial caution, Lyris's honorable nature convinces Grey to team up with her. They navigate the unstable terrain until they are attacked by a monstrous insectoid beast with a Buddha statue on its back. After a difficult fight, they defeat the creature, only for the Buddha statue to awaken with a powerful golden light and an eerie chant.

Golden light shimmered outward as a vision slammed into his consciousness.

He found himself staring at two figures standing in a realm of pure white mist.

One of them was unmistakable, as he had seen him before in another vision.

Ji Gong stood there with his wine gourd and a lazy smile on his face.

Beside him stood another Buddhist monk, this one dressed in pristine golden robes, his shaved head gleaming under the light.

"The remains of the Original Buddha should be here," Ji Gong said casually, taking a swig from his gourd.

The golden-robed monk turned to him with a frown.

"Ji Gong, why did you make me come here?" he asked, visible frustration crossing his features. "I was in the middle of my meditation."

Ji Gong laughed at his words, the sound echoing strangely through the misty realm.

"That’s for you to find out, old friend." He grinned and took another drink. "Go on now, I will be on my way."

"May the Buddha guide you."

The vision cut off completely, leaving Grey standing motionless on the volcanic ground.

"What’s the connection here?" Grey frowned. To think he would encounter something related to Ji Gong here.

He wanted to say, "Perhaps they shared a karmic fate," but he was the Fateless One. That shouldn’t be possible.

One thing was certain.

Something related to the Buddhist Sect was hidden in this Chaos Realm, and Ji Gong had sent someone here long ago. Perhaps that person was still here?

"Elder, there’s a halo on top of your head." Lyris’s voice broke through his thoughts. "Is that a Sainthood?"

Grey turned to her and stroked his fake beard.

"Don’t worry about it," he said calmly. "I’m sure most experts here have achieved Sainthood as well."

Lyris shook her head at his words.

"No, even in our territory, the number of Saints can be counted on one hand." Her violet eyes studied the golden halo with genuine curiosity. "I didn’t expect you to be a Saint, Elder."

Grey just chuckled and waved his hand dismissively.

Lyris tilted her head slightly.

"What was that strange light just now?" she asked. "There has to be some connection to this realm."

"It’s nothing," Grey replied. "I just saw some fragmented vision of this place, but it didn’t contain any valuable knowledge, so there’s nothing to worry about."

Lyris studied him for a moment, then nodded slowly.

"Alright, Elder." She accepted his explanation. "Let’s continue moving then."

They resumed their journey through the harsh, shifting terrain.

At the same time, in the Chaos outside the realm, Little Hong stood with power emanating from her body.

For the past few days, she had been forming a resonance with the endless reality around her, and her strength had reached a completely new level.

Her eyes locked onto a Reality Ship in the distance, the one carrying Alan and Alissa.

Her figure flickered once and then shot toward the Chaos Realm like a streak of crimson light.

Grey and Lyris continued walking for a long time.

The volcanic landscape continually shifted around them as they moved.

Soon, they reached an entrance carved into a massive cliff face.

A towering Buddha statue sat beside the cave entrance, its stone hands pressed together in prayer, its face was serene despite the chaos of this realm.

Inside the cave, reality distorted and twisted, revealing glimpses of something beyond.

Grey’s eyes narrowed as he peered through the distortion.

A massive structure stood on the other side, a grand Buddhist temple with complex golden spires reaching toward the sky.

"Is this a Dharmic Sanctuary?" Lyris tilted her head in curiosity.

"What could a Dharmic Sanctuary be doing in a place like this?"

Grey nodded and stepped forward.

"I think so. Let’s go inside and see for ourselves."

They passed through the distortion together, and reality bent around them before snapping back into place.

The temple grounds spread before them, ancient stone paths leading toward the main structure.

But they weren’t alone.

A group of figures stood near the temple entrance, their dark robes marking them as members of the Devil’s Court.

One of them turned and spotted Grey and Lyris immediately.

"Intruders!" the leader snarled, his face twisting with malice. "Kill them and take their treasures!"

The entire group attacked at once, Devil energy surging toward Grey and Lyris from all directions.

Grey didn’t even blink at this.

He raised one hand and released a pulse of Axiom Power, the supreme energy washing over the attackers like a tidal wave.

Every single one of them collapsed instantly, their bodies crashing to the stone ground with heavy thuds.

They were only at the 11th rank, not even worth his attention.

They soon continued walking toward the temple.

Right after that, the ground beneath them began to tremble.

BOOM!

Strange creatures burst from the earth around them. Their bodies were twisted and corrupted.

These were different from the ones Grey and Lyris had encountered before; they lacked the Buddha heads on their backs.

But aside from that, they looked the same.

Grey’s expression immediately shifted.

"Rhun-Vaze."

He spoke the name of his Source Magic, and reality responded.

The creatures began disintegrating at the atomic level, their bodies breaking apart into nothing.

Not even dust remained where they had stood.

Lyris stumbled back a step, her face pale with shock.

"What was that?" she asked, surprise flooding her voice.

"Just a simple cleaning technique," Grey replied casually. "Let’s head into the pagoda."

He felt strange mental signatures around this place. It was filled with corruption and chaos.

He didn’t know what it was, but there was only one way to find out, and that was by entering the sanctuary.

They approached the main structure of the Dharma Sanctuary.

The moment they stepped through its entrance, space twisted around them.

Light consumed their vision, and they vanished from the temple grounds.

Moments later, more figures arrived at the Dharma Sanctuary.

The Mind Collective came first, their members moving in perfect synchronization as they approached the pagoda.

"The mental signatures inside are chaotic," their leader said, his eyes glowing with psychic power. "We need to be cautious."

"Such strange mental signatures. They show signs of corruption," another member said thoughtfully.

But that didn’t stop them from entering.

They stepped into the pagoda and vanished in a flash of light.

Soon after, the Throne Alliance arrived with Elder Tharos leading them.

The envoy from the Higher Realm studied the pagoda with analytical eyes.

"This structure contains Dharmic power," Tharos observed. "The treasures inside must be extraordinary."

"Shall we proceed, Elder Tharos?"

"Yes," Tharos nodded. "Let’s go."

They stepped into the pagoda and disappeared.

The Eternal Dominion arrived last.

"We will not be left behind," Sovereign Kael declared. "Whatever lies within, the Eternal Dominion will claim it."

His subordinates followed him into the pagoda without hesitation.

Grey’s vision flickered as he landed on solid ground.

He found himself standing in a sacred Buddhist place, a massive stupa rising before him, with ancient architecture that spoke of countless ages.

At the center of it all sat a gigantic urn, its surface covered in intricate Buddhist scriptures that glowed with faint golden light.

Surrounding the urn stood dozens of Buddha statues, but something was terribly wrong with them.

Every single one was headless, their necks ending in jagged stone where their heads should have been.

Lyris landed beside him, her eyes scanning the area with visible unease.

"This place feels strange, Elder," she said softly.

Just then, the ground erupted around them.

More twisted creatures burst forth, and these ones had Buddha statues fused to their backs.

Seeing this, Grey made his move without hesitation.

His fist connected with the first creature, shattering it completely.

Lyris attacked the ones approaching from behind, her power flaring as she struck them down one by one.

The Buddha statues on their backs fell to the ground with each kill.

When the last creature died, Grey’s Saint Halo stirred violently once again as all the statues in the place resonated with him and also with Lyris this time.

Golden light exploded outward as a far more complete vision crashed into his mind.

He stood in a realm of pure spiritual elevation, a paradise unlike anything he had ever seen.

Golden clouds drifted through the sky, and the very air surged with dharmic energy.

The golden-robed monk from before sat in meditation at the center of it all.

"This realm holds the blessing of the Buddha," the monk said with wonder in his voice.

His eyes opened slowly, taking in the paradise around him.

"Is there already an opportunity to obtain enlightenment here?" he asked himself. "But we Buddhists find enlightenment within ourselves. How will I find it in this place?"

He shook his head firmly.

"I will just meditate here." He closed his eyes again. "I don’t believe that drunkard’s words."

Time began to flow strangely.

The world around him revolved and shifted as creation took place before his closed eyes.

Animals formed from nothing, evolving and changing over countless eras.

From animals, humans emerged.

And these humans all became followers of the Buddha.

The monk remained in meditation as civilizations rose and fell around him.

Eras passed like heartbeats, and the humans that had formed began to worship, to pray, and to seek enlightenment of their own.

Then the monk sensed something.

His eyes snapped open as he felt presences nearby, most likely the humans who had wandered close to his meditation spot.

He stood up and went to investigate.
