"Can’t I simply request the two Daos to ensure that upon reaching the 6th rank, my pathstriders gain the abilities required to cross dimensions?"
Grey’s eyes flared with intensity. His form vanished from all sights as he plunged into the Creator Invocation Space.
"Heading to seek aid from the Daos?" Fragment materialized next to him and questioned.
"Yep." Grey nodded while summoning the Dao of Space anew.
His sight blurred, placing him once more in front of the Dao of Space.
"Gaah. Why have you returned?" It shuddered the moment it spotted Grey. "Haven’t I grasped your purpose already?"
"I need assistance." Grey cut straight to it, ignoring the timid Dao.
To this day, he remained puzzled why these Daos dreaded him; even the Dao of Power itself quaked in his presence.
"What is it you seek?" inquired the Dao of Space.
"I want you to ensure that anyone stepping into the 6th rank of my path instantly grasps spatial law at advanced succession level, regardless of their prior comprehension, and catches a single glimpse of your being to shatter dimensional bounds."
"..." The Dao of Space gaped at Grey, utterly speechless. "Are you intending to hand your pathstriders a direct pass to transcendence? That’s utterly unfair. Granting this would upset the world’s equilibrium, potentially dooming the infinite reality we cherish."
"No need to fret." Grey grinned. "None but the deserving shall attain the 6th rank."
"Through the Heavenly Mandate, I’ll establish an automated mechanism: should they fail the proper criteria, it will erase them or lock them eternally at the 5th rank. That surprising ability emerged from the Heavenly Mandate within my Creator Invocation Space."
"Hm." The Dao of Space pondered deeply, then finally exhaled in relief after some time.
"Very well. I’ll consent, provided you implement those penalties you mentioned."
"The effect activates solely when I detect the Heavenly Mandate linking to the 6th rank path inside the Creator Invocation Space," it appended.
"Deal."
"Okay." The Dao of Space sighed with ease. Grey returned to the Creator Invocation Space. A beam erupted from the emptiness, streaking toward the prototype 6th rank illusion Grey had formed for the colossal entities, the Daos of Space and Time.
"Next, time."
He’d never before contacted time; curiosity burned about its response to him.
Sensing it, the surrounding world twisted wildly in an instant. Right after, he stood within a realm brimming with countless clocks.
"Why have you come, perfect one? My brother warned me of your visit already." Above, a clock-like edifice loomed. Yet as Grey peered deeper, a tinier clock nested within, then another inside that, endlessly repeating. His grasp of time law swelled wildly but got suppressed as the legendary Heavenly Dao’s aura pressed down.
"The Heavenly Dao obstructs time’s flow. Fewer than two can still tap my essence."
"If it lies within my power, I’ll lend my aid."
Grey presented the identical request to the Dao of Time.
"With my brother’s approval already given, I see no issue. For transcendence’s sake, the Heavenly Dao permits my actions," declared the Dao of Time.
"Hm. Thanks." Grey inclined his head. Then, struck by a thought, he probed further, "Could you toss in unlimited time reversal just for me?"
"No."
"But consider it. It won’t boost my command of time law, will it? Will it?" Grey batted his eyes while gazing at the Dao of Time.
"Ugh... alright. Yet time reversal stays brief. History rewinds open only post-8th rank."
Grey nodded.
This Dao exuded far greater poise; fear of him seemed absent.
"Incidentally, I’ve long pondered this. Is time’s constraint... from the gods?"
"Merely a portion," the Dao of Time murmured gently.
"The Heavenly One sealed me for noble cause. A past figure accompanies you already; god rebirth’s echoes birthed them. You grasp this well, tied as you are to the God Empress’s reincarnation."
"Yet the true motive for the Heavenly One barring time... stems from higher realms."
"The Ascendancy Domain."
"Yes," the Dao of Time whispered.
Suddenly, it furrowed.
Radiance burst from above. Witnessing it, Grey scoffed.
The Heavenly Dao had arrived.
"I’ll return soon," Grey stated as his silhouette faded from the realm.
Profound enmity simmered between him and the Heavenly Dao.
Being spotted alongside the Dao of Time would surely spell disaster for him. The instant he reemerged, the power of time fused seamlessly with the 6th rank.
Boom!
A brilliant glow erupted from the path the moment it solidified.
This signified that his 6th rank had fully conceptualized and stood ready for deployment. When one's source completes every singularity, it ascends to a liminal state bridging 3D and 4D. In this way, transcendence manifests visibly, attaining full 4th-dimensional glory.
"You really got their help." Fragment was utterly speechless at the sight.
"Of course. Who do you think I am? I’m a master negotiator." Grey grinned.
"By the way, Fragment. We need to find a Lesser Heaven soon. I don’t care about the Heavenly Dao anymore. I will make the time law reach minor succession."
"Yeah. But where do we begin? This world is too vast to start from a point."
