Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven Chapter 457: A fight with the Dragon Clan
"Who exactly are you, brat? What do you want to do with the Dragon Maiden?"
A middle-aged man with terrifying, vertical draconic pupils backed a young man into a nearby reinforced sleek metallic wall.
By now, the Patriarch and the rest of the Dragon clan had already gone inside the grand venue. Only the Dragon Maiden was left behind in the arrival venue for spaceships to wait for her friends. That was when a random young man had abruptly stepped forward and tried to casually speak with her.
"You look like you harbor foul intentions," the middle-aged dragon added, his aura suffocatingly heavy. "Speak. What family do you belong to?"
"The exact same family as that Miss Dragon Maiden over there. Well, former family, I suppose." Grey, who was currently pinned against the wall by a 6th Ranker, simply replied with a faint, unbothered smile.
It was honestly absurd. Being casually cornered against a wall after secretly becoming a literal world-ending being. But it did happen.
And to make matters vastly worse, Alissa was currently looking at him with freezing cold eyes for some reason.
Just then, a hurried telepathic message shot directly into his mind.
[Grey... why did you approach me in public? It is highly dangerous... the Dragon Clan... they will not let you go if they see you with me.]
[Just apologize to Errol and leave immediately... I will find you later in private.]
[If you speak out too much, it will put Father in terrible danger.]
Alissa’s telepathic voice was laced with a heavy hint of genuine anxiety.
Grey’s expression immediately changed.
He looked closely at Alissa and then back at the imposing dragon, finally understanding the unspoken gravity of the situation.
It made total sense. The fact that Alissa suddenly turned into the revered Dragon Maiden meant there was definitely a massive political web surrounding her.
These dragons naturally gave off a highly prideful and insanely arrogant aura. They clearly viewed humans as lesser beings. Anyone approaching their sacred Maiden without prior clearance would definitely make them angry.
"Is that not enough, Uncle Errol?" Alissa spoke up softly, breaking the tense silence. "You are making an unnecessary scene here. I am completely sure he is just an overzealous fan."
Hearing her speak on the boy’s behalf, Errol’s expression shifted. He glared at Grey for a split second before slowly loosening his iron grip.
But then, a highly cruel, mocking grin formed on the dragon’s face.
"But letting a lowly human off this easy is simply not good enough, Alissa. These frail humans have grown far too bold in this modern era. They have forgotten their proper place."
Errol’s draconic eyes narrowed into dangerous slits, radiating pure, unadulterated disgust. "You audaciously claimed that you were from the exact same family, did you not? A weak, pathetic human daring to call himself a dragon like us? It makes my blood boil just hearing such a sickening insult."
To a pureblood dragon, a human casually claiming to be part of their supreme species was not just a lie; it was a severe crime of extreme disrespect that demanded immediate physical punishment.
Errol fiercely raised his hand, intending to violently slap Grey across the face to shatter the arrogant human’s jaw and teach him exactly where his species stood.
But right before the heavy strike could reach Grey, a terrifyingly sharp power erupted across the entire venue.
Errol instantly froze in place as he felt a telepathic message emerging in his mind.
The bustling onlookers, including Errol and Alissa, froze completely as a young man slowly descended from the sky with a highly casual look on his face.
The instant the crowd saw him, the atmosphere turned deadly serious.
"Is that not the Prime Judicator?"
"It is him. The man who carries out the direct will of the Grand Arbiter."
"The right hand of the Grand Arbiter himself. Tian Yuan."
"What is a supreme being like him doing here in the outer Venue?"
"It is heavily rumored that he is only twenty-five years old, yet the Arbiter listens to him unconditionally."
"Mr. Tian Yuan." Errol gave a slight nod.
While the young man who had just appeared was technically weaker than Errol in raw cultivation rank, the dragon still had to show utmost respect.
This was the man the Grand Arbiter favored above all others. It was an open secret in the upper echelons that the Arbiter always asked for this man’s direct opinion before taking any major cosmic action. That alone showed how terrifying this individual truly was.
"Mr. Errol. This is a highly public place. As Miss Alissa has already mentioned, we are all here to enjoy the grand tournament. He is probably just a clueless fan. It is best if you stayed your heavy hands," Tian Yuan said smoothly. He gave a bored, passing glance at Grey, who was simply looking back at him with a soft, knowing chuckle.
Just then, a frantic shout rang out from the nearby crowd.
"My son!"
It was Angela. The instant she walked back out of the stadium doors and saw the terrifying dragon Errol standing so close to her son with his hand raised, an enraged, murderous expression formed on her beautiful face.
But before she could take any violent action, Anderson and the Emperor of the Aeonic Divine Kingdom both stepped forward and grabbed her arms.
"Stop! What are you doing, Angela? Do you have a literal death wish? That man is a supreme Dragon," Anderson warned with a deep frown, transmitting his urgent message telepathically so as not to cause a scene.
Then, Anderson quickly stepped forward and bowed respectfully.
"Please forgive my son if he did anything foolish. He is still getting used to the strict hierarchies of this world and has been living in the isolated Milky Way Galaxy for a while. He surely did not mean to offend the mighty Dragon Clan."
Anderson knew the brutal cosmic rules. If one dragon was hurt or insulted, another would immediately join the fray. If you offended even one of them, the entire ancient clan would violently gang up on your family. By then, not even the Grand Arbiter would step in to help a human Duke family.
It was never a matter of who was morally right or wrong. It was strictly a matter of survival.
Angela had a deep, unwilling frown on her face upon hearing her husband apologize, but she did not say another word. The Empress, Awa Bourbon, came forward and softly shook her head at Angela, urging her to stay calm.
Observing the tense scene, Tian Yuan displayed an amused look.
