Gao Ziyue and Kyrian share a heartfelt farewell, promising to meet again in the Central Region after her caravan completes its long journey. Before departing, Gao Ziyue embraces Kyrian, a gesture that leaves him unexpectedly moved. She then uses illusions to disappear, leaving Kyrian with a lingering smile and a renewed sense of purpose.

Kyrian walked back to the small courtyard where he had rented a temporary residence, his footsteps echoing softly against the ancient stones that paved the deserted streets.

The night in the Sky Caravan had become much quieter than a few hours earlier, as if the city itself were exhaling a tired sigh after days of uninterrupted festivities.

The streets that during the day seemed to never sleep, filled with cultivators, merchants, and curious onlookers, were now illuminated mainly by spirit lanterns suspended in the air. Their soft glow created a path of light that guided the few passersby who still wandered around.

Some shops were still open, their half-open doors allowing golden beams of light to escape, and from time to time Kyrian heard the distant sound of conversation or music coming from some tavern. Echoes of a night that had not yet ended for everyone.

But, to Kyrian, everything seemed distant, as if he were observing the world through a layer of water. The effect of the Celestial Lirium had finally disappeared completely, dissipating like mist beneath the morning sun.

His mind was completely clear again, free from that gentle haze that had made the night so pleasant.

There was no longer that strange sensation of warmth behind his thoughts, nor that unusual lightness that made everything seem a little more pleasant, a little easier.

His senses had returned to their usual state, and his awareness was as sharp as ever, every perception keen and precise.

Even so, the smile on his face remained. It was small, almost imperceptible, a subtle curve that barely altered his usual expression. But it was there, stubbornly refusing to disappear.

Kyrian couldn’t help it. That night had been different from everything he had experienced recently, an experience that didn’t fit into any of the categories he knew.

He had already participated in fierce competitions, faced powerful enemies, learned ancient techniques, met powerful masters, and encountered treasures such as the Sky Bone, whose power still echoed within his body.

But none of that compared to the simplicity of that night, to the quiet depth he had found in every moment they shared.

Talking with Gao Ziyue without the distance that normally existed between them within Azhura’k’s domain, where their words were filtered through the darkness and the presence of the imprisoned beast.

Seeing her smile like that, the smile she rarely showed others, the one she reserved only for genuine moments. Witnessing Djiva’s birth, watching a life come into the world with all its fragility and promise. Choosing the little creature’s name together, as if they were partners in something that went beyond simple acquaintance.

And, in the end, that embrace.

Kyrian raised one hand and unconsciously touched his own chest, as if he could feel the echo of that moment through the fabric of his robe.

He could still remember the sensation with surprising clarity, the warmth of her body against his, the gentle pressure of her arms around his waist, and the way her head had rested against his chest. The delicate fragrance he had smelled when she approached, a scent he couldn’t identify but that had etched itself into his memory.

Everything had lasted only a few seconds, a blink of an eye in the vastness of time. But, somehow, those few seconds continued passing through his mind, repeating themselves in a loop he made no attempt to stop.

Kyrian let out a small laugh, a low sound that echoed through the silence of the empty street.

"Strange..."

He didn’t know exactly why that night had been so important, why those simple moments had left such a deep mark. Perhaps because he wasn’t used to simply spending time with someone, to existing in another person’s presence without a defined purpose.

His life had always been guided by clear goals, cultivating, becoming stronger, finding resources, and uncovering the mysteries of his eyes.

His goal of becoming stronger was clear, almost an obsession.

But that night had had no objective. There was no technique to learn, no opponent to defeat, and no treasure to obtain. He had simply been with someone, sharing laughter, silences, and stories. And he had enjoyed it. Very much.

When he finally reached the courtyard, he pushed open the small wooden gate, which creaked softly on its hinges, and entered.

The surroundings were silent, motionless, as if the night itself were holding its breath.

The formation protecting the residence emitted only an almost imperceptible glow around the walls, a field of energy that extended like invisible skin over the property.

The tree in the center of the courtyard swayed gently in the wind.

Kyrian walked to the tree and sat on the stone bench beneath its branches. For several minutes, he did nothing, simply remaining there, allowing the silence to envelop him like a familiar cloak.

He looked up at the sky of the Sky Caravan.

Kyrian took a deep breath, feeling the night air fill his lungs, cool and invigorating.

The night was coming to an end. He knew he would not see Gao Ziyue again anytime soon.

After that farewell, after the embrace that had sealed his departure, she would probably enter closed-door cultivation, immersing herself in an isolation that could last for days, weeks, or even months.

That barrier holding her back had loosened, a crack in the wall of guilt and pain that had imprisoned her for decades.

Perhaps it was simply because of the night they had spent together, the simple act of sharing moments without pretense.

Perhaps it was because she had finally found a way to accept part of what she carried, to begin forgiving herself. Or perhaps there was some deeper reason, something even she herself didn’t fully understand.

Kyrian didn’t know. But he knew that Gao Ziyue would not waste that opportunity. If there truly was a chance to break through the bottleneck that had imprisoned her for years, to finally overcome the Heart Demon that prevented her from advancing, she would certainly try with all her strength.

And, when she finally emerged from isolation, when her barrier finally broke, he would probably have already left the Caravan.

"Everyone needs to follow their own path." Kyrian murmured to himself, his voice low and serene.
