Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation Chapter 536: Lightning Vs Metal (5)
Previously on Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation...
Kyrian remained exactly where he was.
His body was still standing upright, his posture as unshakable as an ancient mountain. His saber was still pointing downward, the blade gleaming with the last remnants of Lightning Qi. Tiny violet sparks still ran across its surface, like stars slowly fading away.
Not even his breathing had lost its rhythm.
His chest rose and fell with the same calm as before, as though he had just finished a light exercise. His face was serene, his eyes tranquil.
On the other side...
Bao Ren was kneeling.
His massive axe had returned to its normal size, its spiritual projection completely dispersed. The weapon lay several meters ahead of him, its blade embedded in the stone. The haft still trembled faintly from the lingering impact.
His right arm shook uncontrollably, the muscles twitching in involuntary spasms.
Half of his sleeve had disappeared, burned away by the lightning energy. The skin beneath was completely reddened and partially scorched, marked with small burn scars in the shape of lightning bolts.
Tiny arcs of lightning still coursed through his muscles, causing painful contractions that he couldn’t control.
His arm was numb.
He tried to clench his fist...
But his fingers barely obeyed, trembling uncontrollably.
His eyes were wide open.
"How..."
he murmured with difficulty, his voice coming out as a hoarse whisper.
"My technique..."
He understood immediately.
Kyrian had not won because he possessed greater strength.
Quite the opposite. His attack clearly contained less raw power. The Lightning Qi was intense, but the amount of Qi he had released was lower than Bao Ren’s.
However...
The young man had struck the single weakest point of his entire technique.
The imperfection he had found, that tiny misalignment within the structure of the attack, had been its breaking point. The moment Kyrian’s saber pierced that flaw, the entire structure of the Mountain-Splitting Axe collapsed.
The remaining lightning passed directly through his defense.
The violet energy had traveled backward through the technique, following Bao Ren’s meridians and scorching his spiritual channels. The damage wasn’t permanent, but it was painful and disorienting enough to prevent him from continuing the fight.
In the stands...
The silence lasted only for a moment. Then... the entire arena erupted.
"Incredible!" a young man shouted, jumping from his seat.
"He won!" another cried out, his voice filled with both shock and admiration.
"With suppressed cultivation!" a third person added, shaking his head in disbelief.
"How is that even possible?"
Some spectators remained completely dumbfounded, their eyes fixed on the scene as though expecting Bao Ren to stand up and continue fighting.
"Bao Ren lost?" a middle-aged man asked, still trying to process what he had just witnessed.
"His ultimate technique was broken..." his companion replied, his voice filled with astonishment.
"It doesn’t make any sense..."
However...
Others smiled in satisfaction.
"I told you!" one spectator shouted, raising his fists in celebration.
"The Lightning Physique was simply too powerful!"
"It was worth every spirit stone, I bet!" his friend agreed, laughing with joy.
"I knew he’d win again!"
Even some of the elders, those who had watched the battle with experienced eyes, showed surprise on their faces.
"That boy’s comprehension during combat..." one of them murmured, an old man with a gray beard and piercing eyes.
"...is terrifying," another finished, slowly nodding.
"He found the flaw in the technique almost instantly. In a fraction of a second, under extreme pressure."
The judge observed the two of them for several seconds, carefully assessing their conditions. Kyrian was unharmed, his posture steady and his aura stable. Bao Ren, on the other hand, could barely remain kneeling, his arm still trembling and his breathing uneven.
He confirmed that Bao Ren was no longer capable of continuing.
Then he raised his hand.
"Victory..."
His voice echoed throughout the arena, clear and authoritative.
"Kyrian!"
The crowd erupted once more into applause and triumphant cheers. The news quickly spread to the neighboring arenas, and even more people began gathering to catch a glimpse of the famous "Lightning Youth" who had just won yet another impossible battle.
Kyrian simply let out a slow breath.
The exhale was long and controlled, carrying away the tension accumulated throughout the battle. His muscles, previously taut, gradually relaxed.
He stored the saber inside his spatial ring.
As the weapon disappeared, a faint smile appeared on his face. It was a smile of quiet satisfaction, not one of pride or arrogance.
It truly was an excellent weapon.
Its ability to amplify Qi had exceeded his expectations. Without it, his final strike would certainly have been weaker, perhaps not enough to penetrate Bao Ren’s defense. The combination of lightning and that saber seemed perfect, a synergy he had only just begun to explore.
He made a mental note to make greater use of the weapon in the future. Its advantages were numerous, and he had barely scratched the surface of its potential.
Bao Ren slowly stood up, still massaging his burned arm. The pain was intense, but bearable. He had suffered worse injuries in previous battles.
He looked at Kyrian for several moments, his eyes studying the young man who had just defeated him. The fury he had felt earlier had vanished, replaced by something much closer to respect.
Then he took a deep breath.
"I lost."
His voice no longer carried the irritation from the beginning. There was a calm acceptance in his words, the acknowledgment of a warrior who knew when he had been surpassed.
"If there’s a next time..."
A small smile appeared on his face, the first since the battle had begun. It wasn’t a bitter smile, but a genuine one.
"...I’ll try to hit you at least once."
Kyrian simply nodded, a simple gesture that carried more meaning than many words.
"I’ll be waiting."
Without saying anything else, he turned and left the arena. His footsteps were steady and confident, yet free of arrogance.
As he walked through the corridors leading out of the battle complex...
People instinctively stepped aside, moving out of his way to let him pass. The respect in their eyes was unmistakable.
Many watched him with admiration, their gazes following every movement of the young man who had just accomplished the impossible.
Some discussed his speed, remembering the lightning that had danced around his body.
Others talked about his flawless defense, the way he had blocked every one of Bao Ren’s attacks without ever taking a single step back.
Some young cultivators had already begun quietly calling him the "Lightning Saber," a nickname that was beginning to spread through the circles of combatants.
Kyrian, however, paid no attention to those gazes.
Fame had never been his goal. The words of admiration, the looks of respect, all of it was fleeting, a mist that would eventually fade away.
His objective remained exactly the same.
To become stronger.
