My Wife Is A Ghost Exorciser Chapter 1454: Three shameless betrayers
Upon entering the room, Song Yan spotted a man and a woman hovering near Madam Lin’s bedside. While others might have found them attractive, Song Yan only saw two individuals with mean and malicious temperaments.
Furthermore, an ominous green cloud lingered over Lin Wei and the woman beside him, who was likely his sister, Lin Sui.
Song Yan’s brow arched slightly, but since she remained at the rear of the group, her reaction went unnoticed. Meanwhile, the unpleasant man continued his tirade, "If you refuse to return home with me, then don't bother coming back ever again! I’ll have the divorce papers sent over; all you have to do is sign. Also, the production house we established together will be mine."
"Considering your mother has lost her mind in her old age, who can say what will happen to you? I refuse to leave the company and the production house in your family's hands. That represents my hard work as well."
"You despicable bastard! What hard work?" Director Lin roared at the man. "Every cent invested into that production house was provided by my aunt! How do you have the audacity to say such things?" The man, however, remained completely unperturbed.
Tang Qinshan dismissed the outburst with a wave of his hand. "So what? Did she do anything besides provide the money? And even if she did... it’s mine now! As long as I maintain that Lin Sui is unfilial and neglects her children and household, who would side with her? Besides, I'm not lying—she hasn't been home in an entire month!"
"I am forced to handle everything myself. Do you have any idea how difficult that is? I’m done with this," he stated, turning his gaze toward Lin Sui. "Keep in mind, you have only three days. If you don't comply, the divorce papers will be delivered."
The pair exited the room with arrogant strides. Song Yan ignored them, her attention instead fixed on Ruan Bei, who appeared to be gloating while maintaining a facade of kindness.
No matter how Song Yan observed her, she failed to see even a hint of genuine goodwill in that woman.
"How can they act this way?" Once Tang Qinshan and Meng Lijuan had departed, Ruan Bei began comforting the two children. She whispered to them, "Don't waste your tears on people like that. They only know how to exploit others when they are at their lowest."
"In my opinion, divorcing them is for the best. Sacrificing some wealth is a small price to pay for your peace of mind!" Although Ruan Bei’s words seemed supportive, her tone was off. It felt as though she was intentionally goading Lin Sui and Lin Wei.
Before the siblings could agree in their heated state, Song Yan intervened. "There is no need for such drastic measures. Marriage, children, and building a family are significant matters. You shouldn't rush to end a marriage in a moment of anger. Even if you don't care about yourselves, consider your children."
"Do you believe they will grow up to be honest people with such selfish parents? They might end up led astray, eventually ruining their own lives."
Lin Wei and Lin Sui had indeed been prepared to end their marriages out of spite, but Song Yan’s words helped them regain their composure. It was true—Tang Qinshan and Meng Lijuan were greedy and self-serving. Could such people truly be trusted to raise children?
Even if they lacked the energy to fight those two, they had to think carefully for the sake of their children's future!
Song Yan watched as the siblings calmed down, ignoring the sharp glare directed her way. She spoke briefly with Director Lin, waiting for Ruan Bei to finally depart.
Fortunately, the woman seemed irritated by Song Yan’s interference and left the premises shortly after.
Once she was gone, Song Yan’s expression turned grave. Noticing her serious demeanor, Director Lin invited her into the study and asked,
"What is it, Yan Yan? Did you discover something?"
Jun Yue also turned a curious gaze toward Song Yan.
"Director Lin, how long has Madam Lin been acquainted with Madam Ruan?" Song Yan inquired calmly.
"They—well, they graduated from the same university and have been close friends ever since. Why do you ask? Is something wrong?" Director Lin questioned her.
"No, I am simply wondering what sort of grievance Madam Lin could have caused for Madam Ruan to target her so ruthlessly. She has engineered a situation where Madam Lin would die in isolation, with no descendants left to perform her funeral rites," Song Yan answered. She then informed Director Lin and his wife about the findings Fang Yanli had gathered after investigating Ruan Bei.
As she suspected, Ruan Bei had indeed consulted a dark arts practitioner. She was the one responsible for placing that foul entity within the Lin household. However, Song Yan had not yet identified the person to whom that soul belonged.
Upon hearing Song Yan’s revelations, Director Lin and Jun Yue stood frozen, the color draining from their faces.
"Wh—what are you saying?" Director Lin felt as though he were hallucinating. Ruan Bei had always shown their family nothing but kindness, yet Song Yan was claiming this woman was the reason Madam Lin lost her husbands and children, leaving only four survivors.
Jun Yue let out a sharp gasp.
This revelation was far too massive to process. Director Lin and Jun Yue’s minds went blank, and they remained silent for a long time.
Jun Yue recalled how Ruan Bei always acted as if she were doing everything for their family's sake, and how they had respected her as their aunt’s closest companion.
Had anyone else spoken these words, she would have dismissed them. However, Director Lin had already vouched for Song Yan’s profound skills. Furthermore, Song Yan spoke with such certainty that Jun Yue knew she wasn't lying.
When Jun Yue considered how Ruan Bei could plot behind their backs while pretending to be a worried friend, she felt a wave of pure terror.
Such deep-seated manipulation and deceit were chilling.
"There is also the matter regarding the spouses of your nephew and niece. Through my reading of their physiognomy, I can see they are neither kind nor honest; they are quite calculating. More importantly—both of them are being unfaithful to your nephew and niece."
"I strongly advise you to look into this so your relatives don't continue to suffer needlessly."
Director Lin and his wife were still reeling from Ruan Bei’s betrayal when Song Yan dropped the news that Tang Qinshan and Meng Lijuan were cuckolding Lin Sui and Lin Wei.
Director Lin shut his eyes, leaning heavily on the table to keep his balance. A catastrophe! What had they done to invite such a disaster upon themselves?
Jun Yue couldn't restrain her anger. "Those cursed people! How could they be so heartless? I never imagined they would stab us in the back like this! We helped them achieve so much, and this is their gratitude? Those ungrateful wretches! Shameless! Absolutely shameless! May they be struck by lightning!"
Director Lin, being a refined gentleman, found his wife’s cursing difficult to listen to and urged her to calm down. But how could Jun Yue find peace?
In that moment, she felt a primal urge to tear those traitors apart.
How could those beasts be so brazen? Her husband and aunt-in-law had practically built Ruan Bei’s production company for her.
Tang Qinshan had received immense support from them as well, and Meng Lijuan was an actress whose career thrived solely because of the roles secured through her husband and aunt’s recommendations. And yet!
They chose to repay that kindness with this?
What baffled her most was how Ruan Bei could maintain a caring smile while orchestrating such a deep plot against them. She was truly a monster in human skin!
Director Lin eventually asked, "Yan Yan, are the array and the evil spirit a major concern?"
"It is more than just a concern; it is a grave danger," Song Yan explained. She had received a message from Gu Chenyi clarifying the mechanics of this Soul Connection Array. "Your aunt has summoned the soul of someone who lived a life of great sin. It seems she couldn't let this person go and chose to bring them back instead."
"But such a thing is forbidden, and the price is heavy. That evil spirit is not only murdering those she loves but is also imprisoning them, using them like cattle to cultivate Yin energy!"
"It will persist in this cycle until everyone close to her is dead. Only then will it finally claim Madam Lin's soul."
