Immortui has revealed a devastating new form, combining the traits of all demons into a single, overwhelming entity. Despite Quinn's fierce counterattacks, the celestial's immense strength and mastery over red mist leave him heavily wounded and retreating. Trapped by Immortui's colourless ability, Quinn is forced to cast Shadow Lock on both himself and Arthur to gain a momentary reprieve. Within the shadow space, a battered and desperate Quinn questions if victory against such a constantly evolving foe is truly possible.

Neither his shadow powers, the blood scattered across the Red space, nor the defensive capabilities of his armour proved effective. Even the Demon form—a transformation so many had sacrificed everything to help him achieve—was failing him now.

Quinn had mounted a valiant defense, a fact underscored by Immortui being driven to the brink. It was this desperate situation that had forced the entity to mutate into a grotesque monstrosity.

"I can see it in those eyes of his, there is no shred of love for anyone," Quinn remarked, deeply troubled. "Should he break free, he will slaughter every living soul without a flicker of hesitation."

It wasn't just Immortui; Quinn had observed the same coldness in other Celestials. Yet, those beings were so tethered to their own constraints that everything remained in check, fulfilling the cosmic balance they so often spoke of.

But where lay the equilibrium for Immortui? If he escaped to execute his design, would it truly trigger the 'great reset' Bliss had warned of? A total erasure to begin anew?

Throughout the battle, Quinn had exhausted every iteration of his blood fists. Absorbing blood offered no further enhancements or system options. The Quinn standing there had truly reached his zenith.

"Quinn," a voice called from directly ahead.

Quinn looked up to see Arthur hovering before him, his blade gripped firmly and his massive shadow wings casting a long silhouette. Even at this moment, Quinn remained anchored in his demon form within the shadow realm.

'Right, this is a creation of Sil's, but can they truly converse? I summoned him out of instinct, hoping to goad the Divine beings into striking at Immortui.'

"Sadly, because of the immense power Immortui wields, I shall dissipate the moment I exit this shadow space. Do not forget, I am not truly here. It falls to you alone to confront him."

Quinn understood this perfectly; no reminder was required. His eyes drifted from Arthur to the sword, recalling its legendary potency. In the end, he remembered that the blade had been entrusted to Fex.

As far as Quinn knew, Fex had spent time assisting his son, Andy, within the Vampire Corps before requesting to enter a deep slumber—right before the world's memories were rewritten. Thinking of Fex, the sword was almost certainly interred with him.

Perhaps he feared it falling into the wrong hands, or maybe he simply felt that ceding such a weapon was not his place.

It was a formidable weapon, forged from the bloodstones of the 13 families—the very individuals Arthur had been tasked with punishing during his reign. Even when channeled through Sil's powers, the blade retained those attributes, though it was doomed to vanish when subjected to the colourless ability.

"I see your gaze lingering on the blade, Quinn," Arthur noted. "It was fashioned from the blood of the vampire lineages, and thus, it possesses the innate traits of those families."

"Yet, consider this: there is something else that flows with the blood of all thirteen lineages," Arthur continued. "Your absolute blood control. Those abilities you acquired have become woven into the very fabric of your being."

Quinn stood tall, meeting Arthur's eyes directly. "What are you implying? Absolute blood control might possess the essence of the thirteen families, but that only grants the capability to manipulate blood; it does not bestow the unique skills of each specific house."

"I am merely presenting the truth," Arthur insisted. "You are still viewing vampires and humans as fundamentally distinct. Have you forgotten my extensive research into our origins?"

"Modern humans derive their powers from mutant cells. But history tells a different story. Ancient humans could manifest all manner of arts. Their methods differed from today's, and the mutant cells certainly offered distinct advantages."

"Blood is the lifeblood of vampires—to such an extent that our powers coalesce into a blood crystal. If the bloodline abilities can be imbued into a blade, why should the same not be possible for a vampire?"

Quinn grasped Arthur's intent, yet it still seemed an impossible feat. "Even if the blood of the families flows through my veins, no vampire in history has wielded more than one ability."

Arthur offered a subtle smile and shook his head. "Your perception of the world is too narrow. Immortui created numerous beings, each potent in their own right. Do not make the mistake of viewing yourself as a common vampire."

"You are not merely a vampire, Quinn, nor are you inferior to Immortui. You were once the god of vampires, the master of blood. You stand as his equal, not his subordinate."

"You have triumphed over every trial that stood in your way!" Arthur proclaimed, raising the weapon aloft. "You command the system and its law of equivalent exchange, which has fueled your constant evolution! Your human essence commands the God-slayer power of the shadow through your MC cells."

"As for your vampire lineage—you are a god, and why should a god be tethered by such trivial restrictions?"

Suddenly, Arthur lunged forward, driving the sword deep into Quinn's chest. The blade dissolved into crimson particles as it vanished into the ether. Yet, the wound was real, and Quinn's dark blood began to spill forth.

With a surge of effort, Quinn enveloped his frame in that crimson, shadowy blood. Much like when he manifested his celestial form, he began to craft a suit of armour from his own power. By asserting control over his blood and his movements, his strikes would gain unprecedented force. What’s more, by binding the blood with his shadow energy, he effectively shielded himself against the neutralization of the colourless ability.

The strike had found its mark, guided by Arthur's wisdom, which had unlocked a new understanding within Quinn's mind.

Suddenly, a dark red system prompt materialized before him. The notifications were sharp and undeniable.

[You have realized the true value of the system]

[You have realized what it means to be a vampire]

[You have realized what it means to be a Celestial]

[You have realized what it means to be a god slayer]

[A new quest has been received]

[Defeat the Celestial of Death, Immortui]

[The blood within you activates]

[You have temporarily unlocked all abilities of the 13 families]

"Quinn, harness the shadow, the vampire arts, human tenacity, and the strength of the system. Combine them all and annihilate Immortui."

At that instant, Arthur’s form began to dissolve into fading motes of light, and the entire shadow space started to unravel.
