My Talent's Name Is Generator Chapter 1192: The Final Contract
Previously on My Talent's Name Is Generator...
I activated Echo Reversion and locked onto the Ironheart settlement.
The familiar sensation of space folding around me lasted only for an instant before my body reappeared above the settlement. I had expected to arrive quietly, retrieve the final contract and leave before anyone noticed me. Instead, the moment my vision settled, I found myself staring at a sea of people.
They were everywhere.
The roads were packed so tightly that there was barely enough space to move between them. People stood on rooftops, balconies and elevated platforms, while others hovered in the air above the settlement. Even the surrounding structures had become viewing points, with entire families standing together as they stared at the gigantic projections suspended above the settlement.
For a moment, I simply stared.
Then someone noticed me.
"It’s Billion!"
The shout erupted through the settlement like an explosion.
"He is here!"
"Billion Ironheart!"
"He killed Verilux!"
"An Ironheart killed Verilux!"
The entire settlement erupted.
Voices came from every direction, overlapping until I could barely distinguish individual words. Some people were shouting my name, others were laughing in disbelief, while a few were simply staring at me as though they were looking at someone who had stepped out of a legend.
I finally understood what had happened.
They had watched the battle.
I couldn’t help but smile.
My perception spread through the settlement, searching through the countless faces until it found the people I had been looking for.
My parents.
They were standing together among the crowd, their eyes moist as they stared at me.
For a moment, everything else disappeared.
I smiled at them and gave them a small nod.
My mother covered her mouth, clearly fighting back tears, while my father simply stood there with a faint smile on his face.
I wanted to go to them.
But there was someone else I needed to find first.
Evelyn had told me about him before we entered the Null Realm. He was the key to the final contract, and the Ironhearts had hidden him from the Eternals for generations.
My perception swept through the settlement once more.
I found him almost immediately.
An old man stood quietly among the crowd, watching the projection with the same disbelief as everyone else. His aura was faint, but unmistakable.
Saint.
I extended my hand.
Space distorted around him, and before he could react, his figure vanished from the crowd and appeared beside me.
The old man staggered slightly as he looked around in confusion.
"Come."
I stepped forward.
The space around us folded, and in the next instant, both of us appeared inside Evelyn’s house.
The noise from outside disappeared behind the walls.
The old man stared at me for several seconds, his expression still filled with disbelief. Then his lips trembled slightly.
"Did you really kill Verilux?"
I nodded.
"Yes. It is dead."
The old man’s eyes widened. For several seconds, he simply stared at me.
Then his shoulders began trembling.
"Finally..."
His voice cracked.
"After so many years..."
He lowered his head, and a smile slowly appeared across his weathered face.
"Finally."
The happiness lasted only a moment before something seemed to occur to him.
His expression became serious.
"You’re here for the contract, aren’t you?"
I looked at him silently.
There was something complicated in my gaze as I considered what his question truly meant.
I nodded.
The old man understood immediately.
He shook his head gently.
"There is no need to look at me like that. I volunteered for this."
He slowly removed his shirt.
A strange formation covered the left side of his chest, its intricate runes extending across his skin and converging around a small central mark.
I recognized it immediately.
Evelyn had told me about this formation.
The final Ironheart Contract could not simply be handed over. It had been sealed within the life of its guardian, and the only way to activate the formation was for the person carrying it to willingly sacrifice himself.
Which meant this old man had known exactly what awaited him.
"You knew you would die."
"I did."
There was no hesitation in his answer.
I looked at him carefully.
"What is your name?"
The old man smiled faintly.
"Akoda."
He paused before adding,
"Akoda Ironhart."
The name carried the weight of generations.
Akoda raised one hand and placed his finger against the center of the formation.
Before activating it, he looked toward me.
"I’ve spent most of my life knowing that I would never see the world I wanted. My family was killed by the Eternals long ago, and everyone I cared about eventually disappeared into the same darkness."
His expression remained calm.
"But I never stopped hoping."
The runes on his chest began glowing faintly.
"I hope that one day the entire Prime Territory will be free. I hope the people trapped in this Null Realm can finally live without being ruled by the Eternals."
His finger pressed against the center of the formation.
"And if there is truly a way , then I hope the Prime Universe can be freed as well. I don’t know whether every human can be saved."
His smile became softer.
"But if even some of them can be saved, then that is enough."
The formation suddenly erupted with black light.
I felt the life force within Akoda begin collapsing toward its center.
His body started disintegrating around the formation, slowly breaking apart into countless particles of Soul Force. There was no struggle and no fear in his expression. He simply remained there, watching me until his body had almost completely disappeared.
Finally, only a single black point remained where he had stood.
The point began rotating.
It expanded rapidly into a vortex roughly the size of a human head, its center so dark that even my perception could not see through it.
I stepped forward and reached into the vortex.
My fingers closed around something solid.
I pulled.
A scroll emerged from the darkness.
The moment it left the vortex, the formation collapsed completely. The black vortex shrank into a tiny point before disappearing without leaving anything behind.
Akoda was gone.
I stood there silently, holding the final contract.
My eyes remained fixed on the empty space where he had been standing.
For a long moment, I said nothing.
Then I lowered my head slightly.
"Thank you, Akoda."
My fingers tightened around the scroll.
The final contract was finally in my hands.
