Damon arrives in a chaotic, broken world called Soltheon, accompanied by a shivering Ric. He discovers Ashcroft has left a message indicating a journey to the Pillar's location in the Anarchy Mountains. Damon senses the passage of time is distorted and worries about his missing companions, including Lilith, Renata, Eva, Iris, Abellona, and Leona. Overwhelmed by grief for Sylvia and the despair of this new world, Damon is attacked by monstrous creatures but easily dominates them. He sends his dominated minions to search for survivors. They soon locate a horrifying scene: countless corpses of all races, evidence of destroyed cities, and widespread death.
