My God domain is the endless abyss Chapter 4
Previously on My God domain is the endless abyss...
"The time rule... it’s far more complex than I initially anticipated."
Cillian's eyes slowly fluttered open.
After dedicating nearly a full day to its refinement, the foundational framework for the time rule was finally established. However, a new, exceptionally delicate challenge had emerged: the flow rate.
This crucial element demanded meticulous calibration.
Any minute deviation, any interference from the chaotic laws governing the Endless Abyss, could lead to the complete unraveling of everything. A temporal storm would erupt, devastatingly tearing through the planes and causing the entire domain to collapse in mere moments.
Unlike elemental laws or even gravity, time rules were not merely foundational; they were inherently volatile. If time itself fractured, the very fabric of the world would inevitably crumble with it.
Cillian drew a deep, steadying breath.
"System," he stated with composure, "display all time flow templates that are compatible with a high-chaos environment."
As he continued his intricate work, streams of data from the system's template archive began to unfurl in his mind's eye.
"There are so many variations... I never imagined time could be defined in such diverse ways."
One particular entry captured his attention: Adaptive Time Flow.
This template featured a system-calibrated structure designed to allow time to fluctuate dynamically, harmonizing with the surrounding chaos rather than resisting it.
"Truly ingenious," Cillian murmured to himself. "How much longer would it have taken me to conceive of something this elegant?"
With a sense of satisfaction, he selected the adaptive model and carefully integrated it into his burgeoning time rule. The final, critical step involved infusing this new rule into the very core of the Endless Abyss.
The transformation was instantaneous and profound.
Where an eerie stillness had once pervaded, time now began to stir and flow.
Heat waves shimmered, winds whispered through the void, and the currents of magic pulsed across the vast expanse.
The fundamental principles of cause and effect reasserted themselves. Growth, decay, transformation, and ultimately, life itself, could now take root and flourish.
The Endless Abyss... had begun to awaken.
Cillian's eyes gleamed with newfound excitement. "Now it feels real. Now it truly breathes."
Even though each individual plane still adhered to its own unique manifestation of chaos, the world as a whole was starting to stabilize under this elastic interpretation of time. He observed with keen interest as the abyssal layers writhed and shifted with renewed purpose.
Yet, amidst his quiet contemplation of the world he had so meticulously shaped, he failed to notice a subtle, almost imperceptible flicker of change occurring within his own Divine Fire.
Meanwhile, in the observatory, the majority of the instructors had long since shifted their attention away from Cillian's project. In their estimation, his work remained incomplete and far too unstable.
"Take a look at Zach Kingston's world," one instructor interjected, drawing the others' focus. "He has already managed to transform his origin into a fully functional energy matrix."
"Impossible. Already? How long has he been working on it?"
"What's the exact formula he's employing?"
"It appears to be based on natural energy. He's establishing a cohabiting ecosystem, incorporating elements like druids, elves, and potentially an entire plant-based civilization."
"That has the potential to become a Transcendent Domain," another tutor chimed in with palpable excitement.
All eyes swiveled towards Zach's live feed. He was depicted standing high above his burgeoning domain, channeling immense threads of luminous green energy into the very terrain. His world was portrayed as lush and breathable, with all atmospheric, hydrological, and thermal conditions maintained within stable parameters.
And now, he was making preparations to inject Gaia Consciousness into the system.
"The primordial consciousness of all things," someone whispered reverently. "The world-soul theory in its textbook perfection."
"If he succeeds, he'll possess the ability to guide the entire ecosystem with god-like control. He'll be aware of every root, every spark of life."
Zach's consciousness seamlessly connected with the world's core, his awareness expanding to encompass every corner of the expansive terrain.
And then, the very first living entity emerged.
It was just a single organism.
But its appearance was enough to elicit gasps of astonishment from the watching instructors.
"The World Tree," one of them breathed, utterly stunned.
A small, vibrant green seedling pushed its way through the soil, radiating an undeniable power. Its roots plunged outward with incredible speed, piercing solid rock and anchoring themselves deep within elemental fault lines. It began to stretch across continents, actively reclaiming and transforming barren, lifeless land.
"Absolutely brilliant. He's not merely stabilizing the world; he's instilling it with a dedicated guardian."
"A remarkable strategy, solving two major objectives with a single action," another instructor nodded in agreement.
The World Tree served not only as an anchor but as a nascent titan. It represented a living core of immense power, destined to defend the world and evolve in perfect synchronization with its development.
"Look at his Divine Fire value!"
Zach's name rapidly ascended the university rankings, his Divine Fire statistic soaring past those of Leif and Morgan Lins, firmly securing him in first place.
"Truly outstanding," Warren remarked, a rare note of approval in his voice. "This... this is precisely what a Transcendent project should look like."
But just as a collective sense of relaxation began to settle over the observers,
"Wait—hold on a moment!" one tutor suddenly shouted, his voice strained with disbelief. "There's activity on the rankings again!"
"What is it now?"
"Someone has just surpassed him!"
Every head snapped towards the Divine Fire display board.
"Who could it be?"
"...It's Cillian. Cillian Carter!"
"What?!"
"That's impossible! He hasn't even managed to create a single living creature yet!"
"No, look again, he's apparently perfected the energy conversion matrix!"
"That alone shouldn't be enough to surpass the impact of a World Tree!"
Warren narrowed his eyes, a thoughtful expression dawning. "Unless..."
Another tutor, his hand trembling slightly, began to meticulously examine the system logs.
"He… he didn't just implement one formula, he implemented dozens!" A profound silence descended upon the entire room. Warren, his gaze fixed, opened Cillian's world file and rapidly scanned the compiled data. His eyes twitched involuntarily, and he clenched his jaw. "...Is this kid completely insane?" The expressions mirrored among the other instructors were identical: sheer disbelief, utter bewilderment, and a touch of awe. This was because Cillian Carter had not merely created a single energy formula— He had masterfully integrated dozens of unique, even fundamentally contradictory, energy systems into one singular domain. And against all odds, his creation, the Endless Abyss, had successfully absorbed every single one. One of the mentors blinked repeatedly, still reeling from the unbelievable sight. They had indeed heard the rumors, the whispers of how Cillian's "Endless Abyss" supposedly boasted more energy formulas than any project undertaken before. However, witnessing it firsthand was an entirely different magnitude of shock. "How in the blazes did he pull this off?" a teacher inquired, massaging his temples with weary fingers. "If my memory serves me correctly, wasn't the previous record twelve formulas? Across our entire history." "Exactly, and even that was considered utterly outlandish," another tutor murmured, his voice laced with disbelief. "Doesn't he fear his Divine Domain will simply shatter from the strain?!" "No," Warren stated coldly, his bloodshot eyes locked onto the projected display. "He possesses no such fear." "He is a genius." A respectful hush fell over the room as Warren continued, his voice carrying a newfound weight. "I cannot precisely articulate how he achieved this, but… he is leveraging the fundamental rule of chaos as the structural backbone. That is the critical element. Instead of attempting to impose rigid control over each individual formula, he is allowing the inherent chaos to naturally blend them together." "Observe closely—while these formulas are indeed vying for dominance across the various planes, they are also, paradoxically, slowly stabilizing. They are merging. It appears chaotic, undoubtedly, but it is demonstrably functioning." Warren drew a deep breath and then muttered, as if confessing a profound secret to himself: "No graduate student has ever dared to utilize chaos itself as the foundational basis for a world before." He paused, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "Could this young prodigy truly be attempting to construct a low-altitude world?" Meanwhile, deep within the nascent world itself, Cillian had just finalized the integration of the very last energy conversion formula into the Endless Abyss. A crimson flash erupted across the prototype world as a new, potent trait, [Blood Inheritance], was seamlessly injected into the system. He exhaled a long, slow breath and offered a faint, satisfied smile. "It is complete." The Endless Abyss had finally achieved stability. The fundamental laws governing time and space were now firmly established. Gravity exerted its force. Elemental rules were functional. And the myriad energy formulas, as wild and chaotic as they were, had discovered a peculiar, twisted form of balance. For the very first time, the world began to truly operate as a cohesive entity. "It should now be capable of birthing a soul soon," he murmured, a hint of anticipation in his voice. Then, his expression shifted subtly, a flicker of concern crossing his features. "...But that is not sufficient." As an integral part of the graduation project, every student was mandated to create sentient life, beings possessing a soul. This was not merely to validate the world's habitability but crucially to foster belief, to generate the vital essence known as divine fire... and to conclusively demonstrate that their world possessed the inherent capacity to evolve, expand, and sustain a complex ecosystem. And at this precise moment, Cillian's world was utterly devoid of any life. "The world remains too inherently chaotic," he admitted candidly. "Lifeforms will undoubtedly evolve given sufficient time, that much is certain. But if the very first beings to emerge perish too rapidly, that presents a significant problem." Compounding the issue, time itself was rapidly dwindling. A full week had already elapsed since the commencement of the projects, and while Cillian's divine fire score had astonishingly surged far beyond that of his peers… he still had no living entities within his domain. Without life, the world could not logically be deemed complete. "Fortunately, I possess the system to assist me," Cillian declared, accessing the Life Creation menu. Thousands upon thousands of potential templates materialized before his eyes. "Far too many options. What I require is something swift." He began to refine his search criteria. "Display the most efficient method for creating a powerful creature in the absolute shortest timeframe." The system responded instantaneously, yet the top-listed result gave him pause. "...Huh." According to the presented plan, he would need to sever and sacrifice a fragment of his own soul. This extracted fragment would then serve as the nascent seed of life, embarking on a perilous descent into the Endless Abyss to become the progenitor, the First Fallen. As it journeyed through the volatile, chaotic planes, the soul fragment would inevitably degrade, absorbing ambient energy and assimilating the very essence of each successive layer, ultimately transforming into something entirely novel. This transformed entity would function as a foundational blueprint—fracturing across the various planes and giving rise to countless unique lifeforms, each perfectly adapted to its specific environmental niche. Subsequently, by leveraging his soul affinity, Cillian would establish a profound link with the entirety of the abyss—effectively becoming its new consciousness, its guiding will, its abyssal sentience, directing every conceivable aspect from within. "...This path carries considerable risk," he muttered, contemplating the implications. "But it is a trial worth undertaking." Without further hesitation, he closed his eyes, focusing his entire being. His divine fire ignited with renewed intensity. A minuscule sliver of his soul detached itself and passed effortlessly through the crystalline boundaries of the planes, plummeting like a celestial comet into the swirling chaos of the abyss far below. And in that instant, everything began to change. The world, once a desolate expanse, now stirred with a nascent flicker of awareness. Each plane, from the uppermost reaches to the deepest depths, sensed the soul's presence, and instinctively, they moved to claim it. The higher planes, blessed with relatively more stable conditions, made the first attempt to ensnare it. But just as they began to draw it into their grasp...A lower plane, situated much nearer to the chaotic depths, exerted a more potent draw.
The soul fragment continued its descent.
One plane after another attempted to capture it, infusing it with energy, corrupting and mutating its essence.
Yet, its fall persisted.
Deeper and deeper it plunged, the soul amassing strength. Like a beacon for malevolence, it became increasingly contorted, intricate, and vital.
The planes fought amongst themselves, growling and snapping at the fragment like rabid canines, each desperately seeking dominion.
And at long last, within the deepest, most chaotic stratum of the Endless Abyss...
...a novel existence came into being.
[First Fallen]
The abyss had birthed its inaugural creation.
