My Disciples Are All Villains Chapter 1830 - Ming Xian’s Origin
Previously on My Disciples Are All Villains...
Lu Zhou considered Ming Xin’s words utterly ridiculous. He declared, “Do you truly believe you possess the qualifications to wager against me?”
The strength of Unnamed far surpassed Lu Zhou’s anticipations. Victory over Ming Xin was merely a question of time. With the Scales of Justice shattered and the Great Stone of Natural Law pinned beneath the Heavenly Dao Banner, Ming Xin could not sustain a prolonged battle on mere soul power alone. Thus, Lu Zhou had zero reason to entertain any bet with him.
Ming Xin glanced downward at the massive whirlpool and remarked, “You Yin will sustain me until the Sacred Region’s reconstruction finishes. Unholy One, do you suppose I’m ignorant of why you endlessly take on students and disciples?”
With skepticism, Lu Zhou inquired, “And what do you imagine you know?”
“You seek immortality through the ten great laws. Am I correct?” Ming Xin laughed lightly and continued, “No outsiders are present. No need for you to feign your grand and noble facade.”
Lu Zhou sneered, retorting, “Having ventured into the Great Maelstrom yourself, you ought to realize those shackles are far from straightforward.”
Ming Xin’s voice turned increasingly grave as he stated, “Exactly because they’re so complex have you attempted it repeatedly… It’s one thing if a single person grew to despise you and departed, but all Four Supremes rejected and abandoned you. Shouldn’t you examine your own flaws?”
“Bastard,” Lu Zhou thundered like a stern elder, scolding Ming Xin, “You have no right to lecture me on guiding my students and disciples. Why did Xuanyi remain loyal? Why have my ten disciples stayed true? The fault rests with that pack of beasts!”
“That’s solely because they remain oblivious to your real intentions,” Ming Xin shot back.
Lu Zhou gradually lifted his sword, intoning, “You’re mistaken. Profoundly mistaken…”
Swoosh!
Lu Zhou soared skyward, slicing the heavens apart.
Seawater got instantly swallowed by the dark fissure, shattering the whirlpool’s equilibrium. Moments later, the vortex spun several times faster, unleashing a tremendous suction force.
Splash!
Waves surged endlessly toward the firmament.
Ming Xin abruptly dropped lower. His soul strand morphed back into a serpentine dragon, coiling around him as he plunged. In a resonant tone, he proclaimed, “You cannot harm me.”
Right after those words, Ming Xin dove straight into the colossal whirlpool.
From above, Lu Zhou swung his sword relentlessly, hacking at sky and sea alike.
Yet the waters merely roiled on. Severing the currents proved impossible.
“Freeze!”
Within the Great Maelstrom, the freezing power unleashed its full might, encasing vast swaths of ocean surface in hefty ice sheets. But as the chill neared the whirlpool, it halted abruptly.
Seawater crashed and sprayed across the ice layer while the vortex churned without cease.
Lu Zhou saw no value in gambling with Ming Xin. He held the advantage here. Venturing into any random gateway risked flinging him to some unknown realm, from which returning would prove arduous. Then, his ten disciples and the nine domains would face utter ruin.
Ming Xin wagered on being hurled back to the Sacred Region, while Lu Zhou ended up lost elsewhere.
Lu Zhou gazed at the descending silhouette beneath.
Suddenly, a voice echoed from below. “Are you afraid?”
Lu Zhou’s eyes gleamed blue as he peered into the whirlpool. Abruptly, disjointed yet familiar visions flickered in his mind, merging into a unified recollection. A square golden artifact materialized before him.
“Hm?”
As if recalling something vital, Lu Zhou stowed Unnamed and dove downward. The instant he breached the Great Maelstrom’s influence, Ming Xin’s voice rang out.
“Unholy One, you’ve fallen for it.”
Swoosh!
At that moment, You Ying materialized overhead, gripping a massive ax.
‘Such a familiar sight…’
Lu Zhou furrowed his brow. This matched a scene from Xing Tian’s memories. He demanded, “Did you slay Xing Tian?”
Ming Xin vaulted upward, piercing the laws’ barrier. He aimed to leverage You Ying’s might to ascend. Simultaneously, he replied, “What does that concern me?”
Swoosh!
Ming Xin at last reclaimed the skies. Gazing down at Lu Zhou, he declared, “I refuse to believe your fortune endures forever.”
Ming Xin prepared to repeat the ploy, trapping Lu Zhou in the Great Maelstrom, when Lu Zhou’s voice cut through.
“You think escape is possible?”
Lu Zhou extended his hand skyward, unleashing the Confinement Seal.
As the Confinement Seal arrived at the edge of the massive whirlpool, it started expanding. It swelled ten times larger, then a hundred times, a thousand times, reaching ten thousand times its original dimensions. Fueled by divine Dao power, the Confinement Seal expanded to its utmost capacity. While it couldn't fully seal off the whirlpool, holding Ming Xin down was no issue at all.
Ming Xin creased his brow while gazing at the Confinement Seal. Next, he lifted his palm.
Boom!
Ming Xin shoved the Confinement Seal upward.
Lu Zhou uttered, “Break.”
“Huh?”
Having hit its maximum size already, the Confinement Seal found it tough to endure the force from both opponents. Finally, Lu Zhou opted to shatter the Confinement Seal in order to pin down Ming Xin.
Boom!
Shards flew as the Confinement Seal exploded apart.
This caught Ming Xin by surprise, leaving him unprepared. He got thrust backward right away.
Yet, despite the Confinement Seal's explosive might, it failed to harm Ming Xin, shielded by You Ying. Simply forcing him back was already impressive enough.
Right then, Lu Zhou lifted his right arm. “Descend!”
The Fiend Monk’s Hand seal, infused with divine Dao power, launched forth like a deadly claw and seized Ming Xin’s leg.
Crackling sounds echoed through the air while electric arcs enveloped the pair.
Simultaneously, Ming Xin sensed his Primal Qi going numb. He grunted before saying, “Fine then…”
Ming Xin swung his hand.
Nine light disks flared open at once.
Boom!
Lu Zhou summoned Unnamed as a shield and thrust it overhead without delay.
In a flash, the energy from those nine light disks erupted within the Great Maelstrom.
Suddenly, an odd sound emanated from the whirlpool. Soon after, a blue ring of light formed beneath them. Moments later, a light beam surged upward, wrapping around both fighters.
Primal Qi and powers of law became utterly ineffective right away.
Before the pair could comprehend the situation, the beam yanked them downward swiftly.
…
At that instant, Lu Zhou and Ming Xin seemed to hurtle through a starry galaxy. No air existed, no Primal Qi, no laws. Their internal energies drained rapidly as well.
The two got dragged into a tunnel heading to some unknown destination.
Ming Xin’s eyes bulged as he scanned around. His breath caught when he sensed the surrounding pressure. No time, no space, no life forms lingered here—absolute emptiness.
‘A realm devoid of laws?!’
With that realization, Ming Xin gradually turned. The moment he did, Lu Zhou’s piercing blue eyes met his, demonic and unrelenting. Ming Xin’s heart jolted seeing Lu Zhou radiate blue light, completely unaffected. He demanded, “You… How are you unaffected?”
Lu Zhou advanced through the lawless void. In this barren expanse, movement should have been impossible, yet he glided effortlessly to stand before Ming Xin. His strong hand clamped around Ming Xin’s throat as he declared, “A liberated, flawless body defies all laws.”
Lu Zhou hoisted Ming Xin by the neck and questioned coldly, “Reveal your origins.”
For the first time in 100,000 years, terror gripped Ming Xin. He stared at those blue eyes and crackling arcs in shock. Straining, he croaked, “Why?”
Lu Zhou squeezed harder on Ming Xin’s neck. “Answer me.”
Ming Xin choked out, “You… can’t kill me… No laws here… no life, no death!”
Lu Zhou summoned his other hand, manifesting Unnamed as a sword. He stated, “Too bad—this blade ignores laws and requires none.”
“...”
Ming Xin froze rigid. He thrashed before grinning hoarsely, “You… should reconsider…”
Ming Xin writhed and kicked wildly.
Suddenly, the space warped violently.
Forced to release his grip to evade the twisting void, Lu Zhou watched visions burst from the distortion, flickering past his eyes in rapid succession.
Lu Zhou beheld a misty realm.
A silhouette emerged within the mist.
Scenes shifted, revealing a ragged, filth-covered man materializing from nothingness onto the land. He traversed endless barren lands untouched by any foliage. Next came him foraging by a riverbank, etching symbols onto rocks.
Another change showed crowds of humans, with languages and societies thriving.
Then appeared the dawn of the cultivation world, that man shining radiantly, adored by multitudes.
Abruptly, catastrophe unfolded— a calamity nearly annihilating the world and humanity.
As chaos swept back over the world, that man lingered amid the shadows and viciously dug out his eyes. He flung one eye eastward, where it morphed into the fierce blazing sun. His other eye became the moon, emerging as the sun sank in the west.
Next, that man extracted one of his bones and cast it onto the ground, which transformed into a man.
Upon witnessing these visions, Lu Zhou's body shuddered entirely, and pain stabbed at his eyes. He shut them briefly. Upon reopening them, the visage of the eyeless man and the bone-born human appeared before him.
Suddenly, the visions vanished.
“...”
“How’s this possible?!” Lu Zhou exclaimed in shock.
Ming Xin burst into laughter. His echoes still reverberated through the space as he declared, “You gave You Ying life, and You Ying gave me life. If I die, you die too!”
“...”
‘Sharing the same fate?!’
Lu Zhou retreated a step. He glanced down at the creases on his hands, examined his fingers and joints, then flexed and balled his fists. This confirmed the stark reality.
Ming Xin chuckled once more. Then, he remarked, “To think that you’ll also have such a day…”
Lu Zhou fell back another step. Tension gripped his nerves, and chaos reigned in his thoughts.
‘Why don’t I remember anything about this at all?’
Ming Xin continued, “It’s okay if you don’t remember. I’m here to remind you. You created many masterpieces in your life, and you wished for all things to develop freely. You want to study your creations so you left your memories in the Great Maelstrom…”
“You gave every god supreme power and authority so why did you deprive me of the share that belonged to me?!” Ming Xin demanded before laughing anew.
Ming Xin’s laughter boomed through the space.
In an instant, Ming Xin lunged at Lu Zhou. He shouted, “I want to make a final bet with you!”
The two clashed fiercely in this lawless void.
Suddenly, space warped once more, and a door to oblivion materialized. A radiant beam erupted, expelling both from the lawless realm.
Swoosh!
Within a mere instant, the pair materialized high in the sky.
Primal Qi and laws rushed back, flooding from every direction at once.
As Lu Zhou remained lost in the visions he'd beheld, Ming Xin grasped the chance and swiftly unleashed his nine light disks.
Detecting the might of the nine light disks, Lu Zhou responded with lightning speed. He lifted his hand, ripping through space. In a flash, he materialized behind Ming Xin and smashed down with crushing force.
Boom!
Ming Xin, plummeting: “?”
‘He became stronger again?!’
Ming Xin coughed up blood. While dropping, he abruptly spotted ten approaching pillars of light. Realizing their return to the Sacred Region, a stupor overtook him, momentarily eclipsing his agony. After tumbling further, he shook his head in defiance. “Is it really fate?”
Lu Zhou dove downward, gripping Unnamed. In an icy tone, he declared, “That’s right. Accept your fate.”
The pair plunged swiftly, reappearing over the Sacred Region's skies. They had circled back to the battle's origin. It appeared the conflict would conclude where it began.
The Sacred Region's cultivators erupted in fervor upon spotting Ming Xin. Their voices rose in unison.
“The Great Emperor has returned! The Sacred Region will live on forever!”
Ming Xin gazed at the ten pillars of light, then at the projections of the ten Great Void Seed holders, brimming with vitality and law power.
Abruptly, the laws' power from the ten pillars of light surged toward Ming Xin!
Lu Zhou's brow furrowed. Matters were poised to grow far more dire.
Conversely, Ming Xin brimmed with thrill, his morale soaring. Feeling the laws' power intensify, he proclaimed, “You’ve reincarnated so many times. It’s time for you to accept your fate.”
Ming Xin then fixed his gaze on Lu Zhou, murmuring almost silently before a grin spread across his face.
Though Ming Xin’s words were faint, Lu Zhou understood them clearly: I’ll rule the world in your place.
