Yuan and his companions learn that angels have been destroying cities across the continent in search of them. As they discuss this grim news, five powerful angels arrive. Selvariel confronts them, revealing that they are acting on orders to hunt down those who killed their gods and are using civilians as bait. She then unleashes her power, proving she is far from powerless.

With a solemn expression, Selvariel said,

"I’m giving you one last warning."

"Abandon the gods if you wish to survive. If you continue to stand with them, not even I will be able to save you from what’s coming."

"Very soon, the gods will fall, and their tyranny will finally come to an end."

The five angels stared at her in utter disbelief.

"The destruction of the gods?!" one of them shouted. "What nonsense are you talking about? Have you lost your mind during your disappearance?!"

"Do you even realize what you’re saying?" another angel demanded. "You’re telling us to betray our Lord!"

"In my eyes, that’s an unforgivable sin."

"You’re a Battle Angel, Lady Selvariel," a third angel said with undisguised disgust. "Those words should never have come from someone like you."

The remaining angels immediately grew vigilant and raised their weapons toward Selvariel.

Despite their aggressive stance, fear lingered in their eyes, and their hands trembled ever so slightly under the pressure of her aura.

"So... you’ve chosen to throw away the only chance to save our people from destruction," Selvariel muttered.

"I expected this outcome."

The atmosphere around her instantly became heavy.

"Lady Selvariel," one of the angels said through gritted teeth, "with all due respect, please surrender yourself and allow our Lord to judge you personally."

Selvariel closed her eyes for a brief moment before letting out a long sigh.

"I should have known this would be a waste of time."

"You’re all so blinded by your loyalty that you can’t even see the truth before your eyes."

"I regret wasting my time trying to convince you."

A sword suddenly materialized in her hand.

The angels were visibly startled.

They had assumed she was unarmed.

"Since you’ve chosen your Lord over the lives of our people..." Selvariel said, her voice as cold as ice, "don’t blame me for what happens next."

Yet, despite her words, hesitation remained in her eyes.

Her heart felt unbearably heavy, and her hand trembled slightly as she gripped her sword.

"I’ll take it from here," Yuan said to the others below. "Selvariel won’t be able to kill her own people. It’s too painful for her."

The next instant—

Yuan disappeared.

Before the angels could react, he appeared beside Selvariel, standing calmly in midair.

Their expressions changed dramatically.

What shocked them even more was the fact that a human was standing in the sky without any support.

"It seems your words weren’t enough to convince them," Yuan said as he looked at Selvariel.

"I’ll lend you a hand."

"You don’t seem to have the resolve to strike them down yourself."

His gaze slowly shifted toward the five angels.

A dangerous smile spread across his face.

"And who the hell are you?!" one of the angels shouted.

"Who am I?"

Yuan smiled.

"I’m the very ’sinner’ you’ve been searching for."

He paused briefly before his smile widened.

"Your worst nightmare."

"So, it really was you who committed such a grave sin," one of the angels said with a proud, confident grin.

"You’ve made our job much easier by delivering yourself right to us."

Yuan ignored the angels and turned to Selvariel.

"Let me handle this," he said calmly. "I don’t want you to stain your hands with the blood of your own people."

"Just as they said... sometimes a few sacrifices are necessary for the greater good."

"Alright," Selvariel replied with a nod. "Do as you see fit."

A trace of regret lingered in her eyes.

She had truly hoped to change their minds.

Unfortunately, the angels had chosen this outcome themselves, blinded by their arrogance and unwavering loyalty to their Lord.

"This bastard!" one of the angels roared. "How dare he ignore us?!"

Yuan slowly turned his gaze toward them.

"Keep your voice down."

BOOM!!

The moment those words left his mouth, an overwhelming pressure descended upon the five angels.

They were slammed into the ground face-first, causing the earth beneath them to crack.

Several bones shattered from the impact.

"W-What just happened...?"

"H-How are we on the ground?!"

Their weak voices were filled with shock and disbelief as excruciating pain spread throughout their bodies.

Selvariel descended beside them and looked down with an icy gaze.

"I warned you."

"You chose not to listen."

"From this moment onward, whatever happens to you has nothing to do with me."

Her voice was devoid of emotion.

Without another glance, she turned around and walked back to Anna Grace’s side.

Yuan then landed before the fallen angels, a faint smile appearing on his face.

"Now then..."

"Shall we begin the bloodbath?"

The Empyreal Oblivion suddenly materialized in his hand.

The massive sword trembled excitedly, letting out a clear metallic hum as if eagerly anticipating the battle.

"My sword seems rather excited to bathe in your blood," Yuan said with a chilling smile.

A shiver ran down the angels’ spines.

"W-What are you going to do?!" one of them cried out. "Our Lord will never forgive you for this!"

The arrogance and pride that had filled their faces moments ago had completely vanished.

Only fear remained.

The pressure intensified severalfold.

The angels screamed in agony as they felt an invisible force crushing them, as though an enormous mountain had descended upon their bodies.

"Your Lord won’t forgive me?" Yuan repeated with a cold smile.

"Your Lord is the one who should be begging me for forgiveness."

He slowly raised the Empyreal Oblivion.

"Don’t worry."

"I’ll make your deaths as painless as possible."

Before any of them could utter another word—

Slash!

A single swing of his sword cleanly severed all five heads from their bodies.

Their lives ended instantly.

The Empyreal Oblivion vanished from Yuan’s hand as quietly as it had appeared.

Turning back to his wives, he calmly said,

"Let’s head to the Imperial Palace."

"I’d like to meet the Emperor and learn how much the empire has suffered during my absence."

Without delay, the group flew toward the capital of the Lionheart Empire.

Meanwhile, the townspeople cautiously emerged from their hiding places and gathered around the angels’ lifeless bodies.

Their eyes were filled with disbelief.

"T-Those people... they actually killed the angels..." the vegetable shopkeeper muttered in astonishment.

"Do you know who they were?" someone nearby asked eagerly.

The shopkeeper slowly shook his head.

"I have no idea... They were a rather mysterious group."

He paused before adding with a dazed expression,

"And those women... they were unbelievably beautiful."

"Just like goddesses."
