Yuan awakens to a mysterious system interface and its administrator, Nora. He discovers his past life was a tragic one and his current body is weak but possesses a rare 'Heaven Devouring Physique'. He receives a beginner's gift pack containing powerful cultivation techniques and a spirit-grade sword. Arriving home, Yuan is devastated to learn his mother is gravely ill and vows to find a cure, his new determination amplified by his system.

"Mom...?"

Yuan called out to his mother impulsively as soon as he saw her lying in bed, approaching her quickly.

"Hmmm?.. Yuan, are you there?" Anna Grace Blank remarked as the door to her room opened, a young man's voice filling the space. She instantly recognized it, certain it belonged to no one else.

"I'm here—yes, Mom! Mom, how are you feeling?" Yuan replied, sitting beside her. He took her hand, tenderly massaging it out of pure love for her.

"It's really you, My sweetheart. I thought you had gone through some kind of loss. Why, sweetheart, didn't you visit me yesterday to talk? Do you realize how worried I was?" she softly sobbed while in his arms. Guilt was the only thing she could truly focus on. As his mother, she felt responsible for his care and provision in every conceivable way. However, her illness had confined her to her bed the entire day, leaving her too weak to even lift her hands to caress her son's face. She had almost given up hope, believing no one in this world could cure her ailment.

Still, a flicker of hope remained that her disease might one day be cured, allowing her to stand by her children and offer them her unconditional love.

'Sorry mom, I'm afraid I can't let you know that the old Yuan you knew had passed away.' Yuan confessed silently, a pang of regret hitting him.

"Mom! See, nothing has happened to me. At the town square yesterday, I was occupied with something crucial for our family. I apologize, Mom, and I love you!" Yuan said with a smile, admiring her soft, dark hair streaked with white. Yet, he secretly felt remorse for fabricating the events of the previous day.

"Mom! Little Yuan is speaking the truth; yesterday, he was quite busy working on a critical task." Lily, standing beside Yuan, corroborated her brother's statement, adding her agreement. She also wished to spare their ailing mother further stress.

"Is that true, dear?... My dear, I am so proud of you." She offered her son a warm smile, wiping a small tear from her eye. She was overjoyed that he had matured and was now responsible enough to support his family. Although she felt a surge of happiness, Lily inwardly felt guilty for deceiving her mother about Yuan; why hadn't he visited her yesterday?

'I vow that I will quickly discover a remedy for Mom's condition!' He made a heartfelt promise to himself to heal his mother's disease, and suddenly, a thought crossed his mind.

"I swear I will surely find a cure for Mom's illness soon enough!" he vowed internally to cure his mother's sickness, and an idea suddenly materialized in his head.

'The system. Yes, surely the system would know what's going on with my Mom, as it's a very magical thing!' Yuan mused about the possibility of the system possessing knowledge regarding his mother's condition.

"Nora, hey! Can you examine my mother's physique and let me know what the issue is...?" He questioned the system, seeking any information that could lead to her recovery.

"[Certainly, host! I'll be finished in a moment, so kindly wait.]" Yuan received an enthusiastic response from Nora, who then began scanning his mother's body with her abilities.

He desperately hoped for a way to save his mother, even if it meant sacrificing his own life, as he couldn't bear to become an orphan again.

Yuan had no knowledge of his birth parents or whether they were even alive during his time on Earth. He had no clue about them; all he knew was that he had been found abandoned in a basket near the orphanage's entrance. Complicating matters, he had broken a promise to a girl who had been a close companion, supporting him throughout his time at the orphanage. Though she could be stubborn and difficult at times, she remained incredibly devoted and concerned about Yuan. Having passed away and been reincarnated into this new body, he had to abandon his commitment to find her when he was older.

As Nora responded, Yuan saw a glimmer of hope that his mother might be spared the suffering she had endured for so many years.

"[Host! What I've discovered will astound you! It's truly a marvel!]" Soon, Nora's voice echoed within his thoughts, brimming with excitement, confirming she had found information regarding his mother's ailment.

Yuan raised an eyebrow and immediately inquired upon hearing Nora's voice, "What information did you learn about Mom? What did you discover, tell me. Can Mom's condition be cured?" Despite his growing impatience, Yuan pressed Nora for details.

"[In response to your inquiry, Your Mother is not ill at all!]" stated Nora.

"What exactly would you label her current condition if she weren't afflicted? State it clearly!" He found himself questioning why Nora would assert, at this very moment, that his mother was not ill at all. How could she possibly say that? What would one call her present state if it wasn't a sickness? Nora's words left him utterly bewildered.

"Cease your perplexity! You failed to heed my earlier words when I mentioned your mother isn't sick; her predicament is exceedingly rare, occurring but a handful of times in a billion years. It's a marvel; I never anticipated encountering something so astonishing within this minuscule world."

"Tsk. Can you elaborate, Nora, and explain precisely what is afflicting my mother? Everything here completely surpasses my understanding!....." Yuan attempted to objectively ascertain the root cause of his mother's malady when the system chimed in,

"As I've stated, your mother suffers from no illness; rather, her extraordinary physical form is the culprit. She possesses a unique constitution known as the Twin Heart Soul Body. An individual with this configuration houses two hearts and two souls within a single body, granting them two distinct personalities. They also possess the ability to manifest as two separate individuals before reintegrating into one. Given that cultivators are non-existent on this planet and she lacks the necessary aptitude for cultivation, her body perpetually requires substantial Qi to sustain its functions. It is an unfortunate circumstance that not a single cultivator remains alive in this world," Nora clarified.

"Now that I consider it, I do recall instances where she behaved like an entirely different person on numerous occasions in the past... so that's the explanation for it, is it?" Yuan mused, finally understanding the reason behind his mother's shifting personality. However, one significant issue remained: how could they possibly cure her?

"Now that we've identified the cause of her ailment, shouldn't you be advising me on how to treat her? Am I correct in assuming so?" Yuan inquired, his patience wearing thin as he sought a remedy for her condition.

"Host! It is remarkably straightforward; all that is required is for you to instruct her and provide her with cultivation methods to practice, and she will revert to her normal state in less than a day," Nora stated.

"That sounds plausible, but... Is there something I'm overlooking? .." Yuan questioned, his voice trembling with disbelief, wondering if he was hallucinating.

"Indeed, Host! I can assure you that if she commences her cultivation, she will recover. However, her current physical state is far too compromised for cultivation. You must first acquire a healing elixir from the System Shop, one of superior grade, at the very least middle-grade. This will enable her to begin cultivating once her body has fully recuperated from its injuries," Nora reaffirmed.

A peculiar expression of relief washed over his face upon hearing Nora's confirmation, as though he had reclaimed his most cherished possession.

"How are you faring, little brother? What causes you to behave so strangely right now?" Lily inquired, observing her younger brother's disconsolate grin. She felt concerned, especially since he had sustained injuries the previous day.

He inadvertently blurted out in front of his mother and sister, "It's nothing; I've just discovered a method to cure Mom of her illness."

"It's not amusing to jest about matters like these, little brother."

"Are you certain, my son? Have you truly found a treatment? Mama has faith that you will discover a cure for me someday!" Unlike her sister, his mother placed her trust in her son's words, confident that he would not make light of such a serious situation.

"I have indeed found a treatment, and I am not jesting!" Yuan declared, his gaze sweeping across each of them with utmost seriousness.

"Brother, is this truly the case? Can you really heal Mom?" She could discern from his earnest expression that he wasn't joking, Lily remarked as she observed him.

"Certainly!" Without a moment's hesitation, he accepted the task; the sole requirement was to make a purchase from the shop, something he had already intended to do.

"Host has accepted the mission! You have 59 minutes remaining to complete this task."

"Nora! Procure a high-grade healing elixir for my mother!" Yuan instructed.

"A High-grade Healing Elixir will cost 10 SP! Do you wish to confirm this purchase? Yes/No"

"Yes."

"Ding! You have successfully purchased a High-grade Healing Elixir! The elixir has been added to your inventory!"

"SP: 990."

He produced the healing elixir from his hand a multitude of system notifications confirming his purchase and the successful completion of the assigned task.

"Mom, this medicine will help your body function optimally for now. However, this is merely a temporary solution; I will soon provide you with something that will completely restore your health!" Yuan declared, revealing a pill from a bottle. A delightful, floral aroma, quite fragrant, wafted through the air as he presented the pill.

As Anna prepared to take the medication, she remarked, "Sweetheart, I've tried numerous potions before, and none yielded results. But this medicine is unlike anything I've encountered. Let me try it, and I hope it brings relief, even if only for a short while." Yuan, seeing his mother's inability to move, took the tablet and carefully placed it into her mouth.

Gulp!

The moment the tablet was consumed, a warmth spread through her body, followed by waves of vapor escaping her skin. Her emaciated form rapidly regained its previous shape, astonishing everyone as her pale complexion rejuvenated. The frail physique vanished, replaced by a stunning figure with elegant legs and curves reminiscent of a goddess. Her face radiated with newfound beauty. As the transformation completed, she touched her countenance and tentatively moved her limbs, like a delighted child, almost forgetting the sensation of movement.

"Is this a dream? ...Or am I hallucinating?" Anna questioned, her body finally free after an eternity of stillness.

"Mom! This is reality, not a fantasy! Mom, you're truly healed! I'm overjoyed for you, Mom!" Lily exclaimed, tears of pure happiness streaming down her face as she was overcome with emotion. Today marked the most joyous occasion, witnessing her mother's recovery.

"Not a dream? So, I..." She embraced her son tightly, sobbing uncontrollably against his chest. She had longed to hold him, a simple act made impossible by her ailment. Yet, against all odds, she now held her son, clutching him as if he might disappear. Yuan, far from being bothered, returned the embrace, cherishing her hair, which felt even softer now. Soon, Lily joined the embrace, unable to bear being excluded from such a profound moment.
