My Celestial Ascension Chapter 1034: Reminding Their Place
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
All the police officers felt as though they were standing before a terrifying beast. Their bodies froze, and their muscles went numb.
’W-What are we even dealing with?!’
They all had the same thought running through their minds as they swallowed nervously.
"So? What is this all about? Care to tell me why you’re here to arrest me?" Yuan asked calmly, looking completely relaxed.
As soon as Yuan asked the question, everything returned to normal. The suffocating pressure vanished as though it had all been an illusion created by their minds.
’W-What just happened?! Was it all just a hallucination?!’
Officer Jenny and the others were utterly puzzled by the phenomenon. Just a moment ago, they had felt as though they were on the verge of death, yet the next second, everything was back to normal.
Once they snapped out of their daze, Officer Jenny said, "Yuan, surrender peacefully. We have received direct orders from above to arrest you and put you behind bars."
"Oh? And who exactly is giving you these orders?" Yuan asked, raising his brows slightly.
"Didn’t I just tell you that the orders came from above? Now surrender immediately!" Officer Jenny’s expression turned cold as she reached for her gun and pointed it at Yuan.
A smile appeared on Yuan’s face. "Put away that little toy... It’s useless against me."
"Oh? We’ll find that out once I put a hole in your chest," Officer Jenny replied with a cold smirk.
’What a fierce woman... But I wonder who’s pulling the strings behind all this. Could it be that fool from the restaurant?’ Yuan wondered inwardly.
He immediately suspected that Eric was behind the whole affair and had forced the police to take action against him. After all, Eric was the son of the CEO of Lunar Corporation.
’Not just him... His father must also be involved, along with the families of those three idiots,’ Yuan thought.
’It seems my peaceful life here is about to come to an end... I’ll kill them all since they chose to ignore my warning!’
The other officers also pointed their guns at Yuan, while Chief Taylor remained relatively calm.
"Yuan, surrender while we’re still asking nicely. Otherwise..." Chief Taylor’s voice deepened, and his expression grew stern.
"Otherwise what? Are you threatening me?" Yuan raised his brows, and the air suddenly grew heavy once again.
"Go back and tell whoever is giving you these orders that they should forget about coming after me or my family... Otherwise, things won’t end well for them," Yuan said, his voice cold and dangerous.
Upon hearing this, Chief Taylor’s face turned red with anger, and his eyes grew cold. He felt utterly humiliated.
He was a police chief, a respected government official. And yet, a young man was openly looking down on him, disregarding the law and threatening him.
It was a huge slap in the face.
"W-Who do you think you are to threaten us?! You’ve just committed another crime! I’ll make sure you rot in prison for this!" he shouted furiously, glaring at Yuan.
"Hubby, it seems these mongrels don’t understand their place... Should I teach them a lesson?" Xi Meili suddenly spoke, her eyes glowing faintly as flames appeared in her hands.
"No need to go that far... They simply don’t understand what they’re dealing with. After all, people in this world know nothing about cultivation," Yuan said with a smile, immediately calming her down.
Officer Jenny’s eyes widened in disbelief as she watched flames suddenly appear in Xi Meili’s hands. What shocked her even more was that these were no ordinary flames.
The flames were a mixture of black and crimson, and she could feel their intense heat against her skin despite standing several feet away.
’Just what the hell did I just witness?! Is this for real?!’ Jenny screamed inwardly, unable to believe her eyes.
Her grip on her gun tightened as she continued pointing it at Yuan, despite her trembling hands.
Chief Taylor was equally shocked by the flames that had appeared in Xi Meili’s hands. However, unlike Jenny, he dismissed them as a cheap trick intended to scare them away.
"Do you think a cheap trick like that will save you? You’re making a huge mistake if you think so. I’m not someone who gets scared by cheap tricks like that," Chief Taylor snorted coldly before turning toward his subordinates.
"Go and arrest this kid. We don’t have time to waste on a single case," he ordered, instructing his men to capture Yuan and take him to prison.
"Yes, sir!" The four officers immediately nodded, and one of them pulled out a pair of handcuffs.
"This is such a waste of time... They clearly aren’t listening to you. Why bother wasting your breath on them?" Valeria remarked, snorting coldly as she watched the officers approach Yuan.
"Don’t move! Or I’ll shoot!" Officer Jenny shouted when she saw Valeria step forward, her finger hovering over the trigger.
Upon hearing this, Valeria broke into a wide grin.
"You think that tiny piece of metal could hurt me? Keep dreaming..."
"I said, don’t move!" Jenny repeated, but Valeria simply ignored her and kept her attention on the approaching officers.
However, Yuan suddenly stepped forward and said, "This is my mess. Let me take care of it."
"Fine. But don’t waste your time explaining things to them. They’re not the type to listen."
"I understand," Yuan replied before turning his attention to Jenny and the others.
"I’ve already said everything I needed to say. But since you still don’t understand, I have no choice but to use force to make you realize where you stand," Yuan said, his expression turning cold.
In the blink of an eye, he vanished and reappeared right in front of the officer holding the handcuffs.
Yuan grabbed the officer by the neck, lifted him into the air, and tossed him aside. Before the others could react, he sent the remaining three officers flying into the air, allowing them to crash back down onto the ground.
Jenny and Chief Taylor were dumbfounded by the scene. As the reality of what had just happened sank in, their faces turned pale.
’W-What the hell is happening?! How did he do that?!’ Jenny screamed inwardly, unable to comprehend what she had just witnessed.
Her mind descended into complete chaos after seeing how effortlessly Yuan had taken down four police officers and tossed them into the air as though they weighed nothing.
Yuan suddenly appeared in front of Chief Taylor, grabbed him by the neck, and lifted him into the air with a dangerous smile.
"You should have listened to me from the beginning... I told you that you couldn’t afford to anger me. But you didn’t listen, did you?" Yuan said, releasing a hint of his killing intent.
Almost instantly, Chief Taylor’s face turned pale as he felt as though death itself stood before him.
He was so terrified that he wet himself. Feeling the warm liquid seep through his clothes, Yuan released him with a look of disgust.
"Pathetic... You can’t even withstand a tiny bit of killing intent, yet you dare to come to my home and arrest me. Ridiculous!"
However, despite the terror gripping his heart, Chief Taylor refused to back down.
"You’re breaking the law! Release me at once!" he shouted.
"Breaking the law? Your laws mean absolutely nothing to me," Yuan replied coldly.
’T-This is getting out of hand! What should I do?!’ Officer Jenny cried inwardly, her gun trembling in her hands.
’Chief Taylor’s life is in danger... I have to pull the trigger!’
She steeled herself, took aim at Yuan’s shoulder, and pulled the trigger.
Bang!
A loud gunshot rang out as the bullet sped toward Yuan’s shoulder.
However, to Yuan and his wives, the bullet appeared to move incredibly slowly, almost as if time itself had slowed down.
Just as the bullet was about to strike Yuan’s shoulder, it suddenly stopped in midair, as though an invisible force had seized it and prevented it from moving any farther.
Seeing the bullet suspended just inches from Yuan, Officer Jenny stared in disbelief.
"H-How is this possible...?"
She staggered backward, unable to believe her eyes, and dropped her gun to the ground.
"T-This is impossible... How did he do that?! How could he stop a bullet in midair?!"
Panic began to overwhelm her as she realized they were dealing with people far beyond the ordinary.
Bam!
Right before her eyes, Yuan slammed Chief Taylor into the ground with such force that the man immediately lost consciousness.
Yuan then turned toward Jenny and said, "This is your first and last warning. Don’t ever come near my home again, or I’ll turn your entire department to dust."
"Remember that well, Jenny. At least you seem to have some intelligence, unlike that useless old man who keeps pretending to uphold justice."
With that, Yuan led his wives back into the villa and slammed the door, leaving Jenny and the other officers outside.
