My Beast Is the 12-Winged Angel Chapter 465 - 466: The Demon God Returns!
Previously on My Beast Is the 12-Winged Angel...
Observing the unfolding scene, the mocking grins on the faces of the two Totem Tier Nine Demon Generals instantly froze.
Their crimson pupils mirrored the figure descending from above, radiating a pressure so intense it made their very souls shudder.
The black lightning and the Demonic Qi prison they held began to evaporate and vanish into nothingness, unable to withstand the weight of this new aura.
Lanny and the surviving members of her suicide squad stood motionless, forgetting to draw breath as they gazed toward the heavens in a daze.
Like a celestial waterfall, starlight poured from the spatial rift, enveloping the descending silhouette in a divine, otherworldly glow.
As the blinding radiance began to soften, the identity of the newcomer finally became clear...
It was Liu Li!
However, she was no longer the same Liu Li from their memories, who had only reached the Monarch level.
The power she projected now was akin to a deity ruling over the entire world.
A single look from her was enough to make the two Totem Tier Nine Demon Generals feel as though they had been plunged into a cavern of eternal ice.
Driven by a primal, biological terror, they were forced back half a step.
Lanny, however, was oblivious to their fear. Her focus was entirely consumed by a presence following behind Liu Li.
The massive rift in the void remained open behind her.
From within the darkness, a translucent but hauntingly familiar soul stepped into the light.
Gu Xing!
Lanny’s lips moved wordlessly, her voice failing her as she tried to scream his name.
She blinked rapidly, wondering if her fatal wounds were causing her to experience a final hallucination before the end.
Was this a dream?
At her most hopeless moment, as she braced for death, had the person she pined for day and night truly arrived?
The soul of Gu Xing drifted in the air, his eyes scanning the battlefield with a quick, piercing look.
His gaze swept over the dozens of bloodied, broken-winged angel warriors before finally stopping on the slender, defiant figure at the front.
He saw her pale face, her golden hair matted with blood, and her eyes that watched him with a desperate intensity, as if she feared he might vanish if she looked away.
Gu Xing’s brows drew together in a sharp frown.
There was no need for explanations; the carnage before him told the whole story.
A moment later, Gu Xing turned his cold gaze toward the two Totem Tier Nine Demon Generals, who were now on high alert.
Without a word, a mental command flashed into Liu Li’s consciousness:
"Liu Li, kill them."
Accepting the directive, Liu Li shifted her eyes slightly, focusing her attention on the two Demon Generals.
And then...
There were no world-shaking explosions of energy, nor any intricate or mysterious Divine Techniques.
She simply lifted the blood-red longsword in her grip once more.
The Sword of Destruction swung through the air toward the Demon Generals in a gesture that seemed entirely casual.
The movement was graceful and effortless.
"No—!"
The two members of the Demon Race sensed an immediate, lethal peril.
With a desperate roar, they unleashed every drop of their Demonic Qi, weaving it into a dense defensive shield to survive the strike.
Yet, their resistance was pathetic in the face of that sword’s path.
A whisper-thin, dark crimson line manifested out of thin air where the Demon Generals stood.
Though it was no thicker than a strand of hair, it seemed to sever the very fabric of existence.
Time, space, energy, and even the internal Demonic Qi of the two generals were sliced cleanly in two by that line.
The frantic shouting of the demons stopped instantly.
They looked down in shock at the perfectly smooth bisection appearing across their chests.
Pain never reached them, because the parts of their bodies that were cut...
Along with their very souls and life force, were erased the second they touched that crimson line.
Two monstrous heads, frozen in expressions of utter disbelief, slid away as their bodies fell apart.
Before they could even hit the earth, they dissolved into dark red ash, scattered by the wind blowing from the rift.
With a single, nonchalant strike from Liu Li, the two Totem Tier Nine demons were wiped from existence.
A heavy, death-like silence fell over the entire battlefield.
The only sound was the slow rotation of the giant purple vortex and the humming of the magic crystal pillars.
The wind itself seemed to hold its breath.
The angelic warriors stared with wide eyes and open mouths, their hands trembling so much they nearly dropped their weapons.
The nightmares they couldn't hope to defeat—the monsters they couldn't even get close to—had simply vanished.
Lanny was paralyzed by shock.
The shortsword she held slipped from her fingers and clattered onto the ground, unnoticed.
She could only stare at the sky, at the twelve-winged figure holding the sword.
Then, she slowly looked toward the ethereal but unmistakably real soul of Gu Xing.
It wasn't a hallucination...
He was really... here...
Tears of relief finally broke through, streaming down her blood-stained face from her red-rimmed eyes.
The mental tension she had carried for so long finally snapped.
The exhaustion of the past days.
The arrival of hope in the midst of total despair...
A tidal wave of emotions crashed over her, breaking her remaining strength.
Her knees buckled, and she nearly fell, only to be caught by a quick-thinking soldier nearby.
"Lord... Lord Gu Xing... Lady... Liu Li..."
She struggled to keep her composure, trying to force a smile or say something meaningful.
But her throat could only produce broken, tearful sobs.
High above, Gu Xing looked down at the weeping girl who could barely stand.
A flicker of guilt crossed his features.
The burden Lanny had carried should have belonged to Liu Li.
But he was the one who had taken Liu Li away.
With a shift of his body, he appeared instantly in front of Lanny.
"It is over now, Lanny."
"We have returned."
Lanny nodded frantically, though her tears only fell faster at his words.
Gu Xing felt a bit out of his depth as he watched her.
He wasn't quite sure how to comfort a girl in such a state.
Meanwhile, after dealing with the Demon Generals, Liu Li had already turned her attention elsewhere.
She looked toward the massive purple teleportation gate and the magic crystal pillars surrounding it.
Her brow furrowed as she prepared to swing the Sword of Destruction once more to obliterate the portal.
Suddenly, a terrifying change occurred!
The rotating, semi-formed purple vortex reacted.
The darkness at its core suddenly contracted, as if something within the void had taken a deep, violent breath!
Immediately after, a soul-chilling, absolute terror erupted from the depths of the vortex!
This pressure...
It was the essence of evil, of chaos, the herald of the apocalypse!
It carried the scent of a boundless ocean of blood and the screams of a billion lost souls.
Just the leakage of this aura caused the surrounding space to groan under the unbearable weight.
Even the void rift Liu Li had created began to tremble and distort!
"Crack!"
The magic crystal pillar nearest to the vortex couldn't handle the strain; cracks raced across its surface before it shattered into pieces!
Amidst this suffocating atmosphere of dread, a hand emerged from the center of the vortex.
It was a hand of nightmare proportions!
As large as a mountain peak, its skin was a foul fusion of rotting flesh and dark metal, etched with demonic sigils that glowed with a magma-like heat.
Most horrific of all was the giant, twitching eye embedded in the palm.
It had no pupil, only a swirling abyss of darkness and agony!
The mere presence of this limb caused the concentration of Demonic Qi to surge tenfold!
The lower-ranked demons remaining on the field didn't even have the chance to scream.
They melted into liquid and evaporated, their essence becoming pure Demonic Qi that was greedily inhaled by that hand.
The aura it projected...
Was more concentrated than Liu Li’s, more primordial, and far more...
Exalted!
It was the unmistakable presence of a being from the Divine Domain!
The power of a Demon God!
