Ethan and James head toward the mayor's residence, where Ethan's enhanced senses detect a werewolf scent, prompting discussions about hidden supernatural races among humans. They follow a pack of werewolves to the dark manor and Ethan incapacitates most inside before entering. In the main hall, a vampire lord confronts the werewolf mayor, demanding he vacate the territory after their one-year agreement ends, but the mayor injects alpha blood, transforms into a massive berserk werewolf, and overpowers the transforming vampire in a brutal clash.

From the darkness, Ethan watched the confrontation, his demeanor serene and faintly amused. The intense fight between the vampire and the werewolf had left the ancient hall in devastation. Broken pillars were scattered over the rocky surface. A hazy gray dust floated in the atmosphere. Crimson blood smeared the walls in ominous patterns.

He had long since decided on his course for this realm.

To bring Earth firmly under his grasp, it could no longer be fractured by concealed hunters waging futile battles over territory. The vampires and werewolves would submit or face extinction—nothing in between. His schemes demanded cohesion, and cohesion demanded supremacy.

The enraged werewolf bellowed and forced the vampire to retreat with savage might. Its talons ripped through rock like tissue. Coarse black hair covered its enormous frame, with muscles swelling from raw fury. Every blow held power enough to demolish solid barriers.

The vampire moved swiftly, yet he was steadily pushed back.

"You must perish, you pathetic mutt," Ethan mused icily while observing the beast seize the upper hand.

The werewolf charged ahead, mouth agape, poised to tear into the vampire’s neck.

"Your fate was sealed the instant you slaughtered my gang members."

Ethan advanced.

That one stride resounded through the chamber like a booming thunder.

A terrifying presence erupted from him and crashed onto the fray like an unseen peak. The atmosphere thickened. Immense weight bore down relentlessly.

The vampire stopped abruptly in place. The werewolf came to a sudden stop during its assault.

Instincts blaring warnings, both swiveled their gazes toward Ethan.

The vampire’s complexion drained of color. His limbs shook violently until they buckled completely. He dropped to his knees, struggling for breath.

"Who could this be?" he rasped out with effort. "I can’t even draw breath. How can such a thing occur?"

The werewolf suffered even more severely.

An intangible power grasped the hulking beast and hoisted it upward off the earth. Its claws clawed futilely at nothing. It writhed and howled, desperate to escape, but the unseen hold proved unyielding. No surge of brute force could defy it.

Ethan lifted his arm deliberately.

He formed a basic gripping gesture.

The werewolf’s form folded in on itself as though squeezed by a colossal hand. Skeletal structures fractured one after another. Internal organs burst beneath crushing strain. Hair, tissue, and vital fluid mashed together into a horrific lump. The crack of snapping bones reverberated gruesomely through the space.

Moments afterward, the beast caved in utterly.

What was left sprayed onto the ground in unrecognizable fragments.

Quietness enveloped the chamber.

With eyes bulging in terror, the vampire gazed at the debris. He had battled that werewolf for almost an hour, coming close to death multiple times. But the newcomer who stepped in had obliterated it with mere motion.

In that instant, a crucial realization struck him.

He was now the prey.

Ethan approached with steady paces and materialized right before the prostrated vampire. The gap between them disappeared as if reality had bent to his will.

"I require you to serve as my servant," Ethan stated evenly. "What say you? Agree with a single blink. Refuse with two."

The vampire wasted no time.

Defiance would spell instant doom—he knew that.

He blinked once.

"A smart choice," Ethan responded.

The suffocating force vanished right away. The vampire breathed in deeply, filling lungs on the verge of failure. His frame quivered, driven by dread rather than frailty.

Ethan crouched and traced an intricate rune pattern on the stone with his digit. The markings shimmered softly as they took shape. The glyphs drew in nearby illumination, forming a disturbing void in their midst.

Lacking typical energy control in this plane, he would call upon the fundamental rules directly.

"Deposit a single droplet of your vital blood here," Ethan directed, indicating the pattern’s core.

The vampire wouldn’t dream of challenging the order.

From his core, he drew forth one bead of potent blood essence. It floated momentarily before descending onto the symbols.

Upon touching, the formation blazed with scarlet radiance.

A profound link snapped into existence for the vampire. It ran deep and unbreakable. His intentions yielded instinctively to the figure before him. No fight, no opposition—the tie was total.

"Excellent," Ethan declared, standing up. "Now collect all your resources and transport them to the undercity area. Locate the Black Bull Gang and hand over everything. Then you may function on your own under my oversight."

The vampire inclined his head low.

"Yes, my lord."

He spun and melted into the darkness without a backward glance.

Ethan emerged from the demolished structure. James lingered by the lane’s mouth, shifting restlessly.

"What exactly was that entity?" James inquired right away. "Did you discover its nature?"

Ethan spared him a quick look.

"Tomorrow, you’ll encounter someone. Come, let’s depart."

James brimmed with queries, but he’d come to realize Ethan revealed nothing until ready. He stifled his inquisitiveness and trailed after him.

The following evening, tension gripped the Black Bull Gang base.

A striking youth waited at the doorway. He exuded natural poise. His stance was upright, his stare composed yet piercing. His mere existence unsettled the street-level members.

They felt unsure how to act in his vicinity.

In a secluded chamber, Ethan, James, and the youth sat opposite each other.

"James, meet Edward," Ethan introduced. "For the time being, he’ll serve as the gang’s money dispenser."

Edward’s mouth quirked briefly at the wording, though he dipped his head courteously.

James examined him closely. Edward radiated an odd aura.

"And Edward," Ethan went on, "meet James. He’ll form the enduring monetary foundation of the gang."

A subtle swell of confidence crossed James’ features.

Edward gave a refined grin.

"Indeed," Ethan noted offhandedly, "go ahead and shift. Show him."

Edward assented. He rose gradually.

James observed with keen interest.

In mere heartbeats, Edward’s irises flushed red. A pair of keen fangs protruded from his mouth. From his shoulders, scarlet bat-like appendages unfurled, extending with a soft whisper.

James leaped upright at once.

Fear and wonder mingled on his countenance.

"Are you truly a vampire from the tales?" he questioned outright.

Edward tilted his head affirmatively.

"Yes."

James turned to Ethan, who sat utterly composed.

"Sufficient," Ethan declared. "Now, to the matters at hand."

"How do you stay so composed?" James pressed. "That’s a vampire."

"Since I’m no naive youth like yourself," Ethan answered steadily.

James snorted. "You’re likely just two or three years old. That qualifies you as a youth still."

Ethan cleared his throat softly and brushed off the remark.

"Edward, what amount of funds do you command?"

"My lord, I hold roughly five hundred million Federation Coins," Edward replied promptly.

James almost spluttered.

"Fine," Ethan stated. He passed Edward a thorough inventory. "Deploy your underlings to procure all items listed here in large volumes. Proceed autonomously, yet update me periodically."

Edward took the document and inclined himself.

"As you wish."

He exited the space without delay.

James regarded Ethan with evident respect.

"You’re truly extraordinary," he conceded. "Even a vampire addresses you as my lord."

Ethan reclined a bit.

"I plan to launch a vast underground auction venue," he announced. "What initial funding will it demand?"

James pondered deeply.

"For a workable yet covert setup, two hundred million Federation Coins ought to cover the outset."

"Agreed. You’ll oversee the venture," Ethan decided. "Are you up to it?"

James drew himself tall.

"Absolutely. Entrust it to me. Just ensure Edward supplies the capital upfront. Once my older sibling witnesses your elixirs and grasps their worth, funds won’t pose a problem."

"No concerns needed," Ethan assured.

He dispatched a directive to Edward to allocate the required sum without delay.

James shook his head gradually.

"You’re constructing something much grander than a mere gang, aren’t you?"

Ethan offered no contradiction.

All progressed exactly according to his blueprint. The hidden species would turn into instruments. The shadowy commerce would channel through his control. Power would spread from the underbelly to urban centers and ultimately span the globe.

Should matters follow this trajectory, his reputation would soon echo throughout the world.
