My attributes are increasing infinitely Chapter 382: Confronting the hunter

Ethan extracted a grey thread of decay from Seraphina, realizing it was an inverse being's calculated attack. He then demanded the Velzard Family treasury as payment for her healing. Upon entering, he encountered an ancient Primordial being guarding the vault, whom Ethan recognized as the family's Ancestor. Guided by Nini, Ethan discovered a fragment of a World Heart from the Void, which Nini could consume to upgrade the Space Cube.

The Hall of Origins was more than a vault. It was a cemetery of lost civilizations. As Ethan clutched the Void World Heart, he felt the Space Cube within his soul release a metallic, hungry thrum. It was no longer just a tool. It behaved like a living organ, demanding more nutrients to evolve into the Chaos Rank.

"Nini," Ethan called out mentally, his voice tight. "The stone is melting. What else do we need?"

"Master," Nini replied, her voice strained, as if she were carrying a heavy weight. "The World Heart provides the foundation, but to reach the Chaos Rank, we need two more components: a Core of Absolute Stillness and Primordial Astral Marrow. I have scanned every inch of this treasury. The Velzard family... they do not have them."

Ethan frowned. The Velzards were one of the most powerful families in this universe, yet even their hoard was insufficient.

"Then we look elsewhere," Ethan said. "But first, I have a debt of courtesy to pay."

He stepped out of the treasury, the heavy iron doors groaning shut behind him. The guards dropped to their knees instantly. The air around Ethan had changed. It carried the sharp scent of ozone and ancient dust.

The Patriarch was waiting at the end of the corridor. "Doctor Alistair! Please, the banquet is prepared. The entire clan wishes to thank you."

"I have no time for long celebrations," Ethan replied, his voice cold and clipped. "I will give you one hour. No more."

The banquet hall was a masterpiece of crystal and light. Every important member of the Velzard family was present, dressed in robes that shimmered with spiritual energy. At the center of the room sat Seraphina. She looked radiant, her skin glowing with a vitality that would have been impossible just hours ago. When Ethan entered, her eyes locked onto him, and a deep, visible blush crept up her neck.

As Ethan walked toward the seat of honor, his Eye of Existence remained active. He scanned the room, searching for any lingering traces of the entropy he had extracted.

His gaze stopped on a young man sitting in a corner.

The boy looked to be in his late teens, with sharp features that resembled Seraphina’s. But while the rest of the family radiated light and warmth, this boy felt stagnant. Ethan’s vision pierced through the boy’s skin.

His Law of Karma was being strangled. A thick, grey seal was wrapped around his very soul. It was not the Law of Entropy, but something else. A different branch of the inverse world.

"Who is that boy?" Ethan asked quietly, turning to Seraphina’s father.

The man glanced over, his expression softening with pity. "That is Rafael, my nephew. His father, my elder brother, died in a brutal war against the inverse world years ago. Rafael has been quiet and sickly ever since."

Ethan’s heart grew heavy.

It was not grief.

It was a link.

Ethan sat down, but he did not eat. His mind raced as he looked at Rafael, then back at the memory of the grey thread he had pulled from Seraphina.

The grey lines... he thought. They were not random curses or lines his lotus wanted to eat. Each one was a different Law. But they all seemed a version of his law of Entropy

Suddenly, a lightning bolt of clarity struck his mind.

He realized that all these inverse laws were not separate entities. They were branches of a single, terrifying tree. They all originated from the Law of Entropy or more like the supreme Dao of Entropy. His infinite comprehension triggered at this very moment.

The moment this thought took root, Ethan’s world exploded.

He had crossed another taboo line. He somehow thought of something superior to the law of Entropy it self.

Inside his soul, the Law of Entropy, the tiny 0.1 percent fragment, began to expand like wildfire.

Law of Entropy: 1 percent... 3 percent... 5 percent!

Boom.

The banquet hall trembled. A massive, terrifying aura leaked from Ethan’s pores. Wine in crystal glasses turned to vinegar. Flowers on the tables wilted and crumbled into ash within seconds.

Ethan checked his status, his eyes widening.

[Master: Ethan Hunt

Realm: Emperor(99.1%)

Physique: Genesis Realm

Spirit: Genesis Realm

Talent: Infinite Comprehension

System Ability: Creation of All things]

Inside his internal dimension, the World Tree, which had stood as a silent guardian for years, began to uproot itself. It started moving it’s position and was shifting somewhere else. But this instantly caused another energy influx as the world tree was his energy manager.

"Damn it. Not here," Ethan hissed.

The pressure slammed outward. The Patriarch and the guards were blown back against the walls. Only the Ancestor, the old man from the treasury, managed to remain standing. He raised his hand and threw a golden barrier around the family members, shielding them from being crushed by Ethan’s aura.

Seraphina watched with wide, adoring eyes. To her, Ethan looked like a literal god.

But Ethan saw something else.

He looked at Rafael.

The boy was not afraid.

He was smiling.

In his eyes, there was no soul, only a vast, empty greed. A higher entity was looking through those eyes, using Rafael like a window.

"I need to go," Ethan gasped.

He did not wait for an answer. His body turned into a streak of silver light that blasted through the ceiling and vanished into the night sky.

Rafael’s lips curled into a sickening grin. "Found you."

The boy’s body dissolved into a puddle of grey shadow and vanished.

Ethan landed on a barren, airless rock thousands of miles away from the Velzard estate. He sat cross-legged, his skin glowing with a dark, pulsating light. For two hours, he fought to digest the massive flood of knowledge pouring from the Law of Entropy. He learned how to break matter down to the atomic level, how to rot time itself, and how to feed on the disorder of the universe.

Finally, the aura stabilized.

Ethan stood up.

Strength surged through him, unlike anything he had ever known. It felt as though he had become a god.

"You are finished? Let us talk, shall we?"

Ethan turned.

Rafael, or the thing wearing his skin, stood ten meters away.

Ethan activated his Eyes of Existence to scan him.

The entity was coated into a grey coat but Ethan could see colorful law pattern which didn’t belong to this plane of existence.

That meant, he could now perceive the law of the inverse beings too but not completely.

"No wonder Jian said someone very powerful is coming for me," Ethan said calmly.

Ethan scanned the entity. Its power level defied logic. It was beyond the Genesis Realm.

"How many realms are you above the Genesis Realm?" Ethan asked directly.

The entity laughed, the sound grinding like stone against stone. "Oh? You know about the higher steps? Interesting. Your background is even stranger than Jian said. I am in the Axiom Dominion Realm. One stage above Genesis."

It stepped forward. The ground beneath its feet crumbled into dust.

"Now answer me," the entity said. "You are an ant at the Emperor level. Even with the physical strength of a Primordial, you cannot fight an Axiom. Tell me where you obtained that Law of the inverse world?"

He knew Ethan had learned an inverse law, but he didn’t know which one. Becuse even an Axiom Dominion was not permitted to know about the genesis grade Law of Entropy.

Ethan did not flinch.

Instead, a slow, dangerous smile spread across his face.

"An ant, huh?" Ethan whispered. "You inverse beings are all the same. You think that because you represent the end of things in this world, you have already won."

He raised his hand.

"You are right about one thing," Ethan said. "I am not normal."

His gaze sharpened.

The sword of Infinity started to manifest in his hand.
